Hey,
how and with what I have to flash the Xperia Neo CM10 to get shut on it?
I have a Unlocked Bootloader, I have root and I have CWM installed.
Every time I try to flash a Rom (wipe, factory reset, format system) while the installation works, but the phone will not boot. I just get a Loob. I play with FlashTools a new system, root and CWM is gone also.
Can someone please help me?
You have to flash the kernel inside the ROM first

Hey,
thanks for the reply.
So first the kernel, then the rest?
But in almost all of Rome is that you must also format the system. Then the kernel does not back away?
by this Rom:

is, for example, that you should flash the kernel, then a floor-ROM without kernel. I've sucked and flashed me a ... then the kernel was gone.
I think at least that was gone, but the sign of the kernel did not.
I flashed so many phones, but I've never had such problems.

Hi,
In general the process is:
Extract the kernel from the ROM on your PC
Copy the ROM and GAPPS in your phone SDCARD
Flash the kernel (I'm using Flashtool, but there're other tools)
Boot into recovery
Do a factory reset, i.e. wipe data (this will format system, data, cache, etc.)
Install the ROM from the SDCARD
Install GAPPS from the SDCARD
Wipe dalvik cache
Reboot
This is the normal procedure. I have used it for all the ROMs I have installed and never had a problem.
I recommend you always to do a nandroid backup first. This way if something goes wrong you can flash the old kernel and do a recovery
Good luck
Hey,
I have the FUSION kernel installed.
I booted into CWM, factory reset did, wipe data, format system, format cache, format data (the last 3 things I must not do so?)
It is the FUSION logo, and then it is SUPER JELLY Bean. And it happens nothing. Was now over an hour away, and nothing left. Battery out, rebooted ... again the same.
I come now to the CWM no longer pure.

Hey,
So ....
Step by step.
- Using the Flash Tool to install the driver FUSION
- I go to the CWM
- Factory Reset
- Wipe Data
-from the SD card do I install Rome
- From the SD card to install the patch
- From the SD card to install the Gapps
- reboot
Fusion character comes SuperJellyBean appears ... but it did not happen.
It is here at the install instructions:
1. copy super jelly bean and gapps to sd card OK
2. flash any jb kernel for neov.. i recommend fusion kernel 4.3 , fxp or shardul's cm10 kernel..Fusion-Kernel...OK
fusion kernel for neo and neo v download from this thread - Fusion 4.3
also shardul seths cm10 kernel works great too here Shardul kernel
3. flash stock ics .587 ftf excluding kernel and simlock.ta files.. I find nothing to
4. boot into recovery ok
5.full wipesok
ie :
wipe data / factory reset ok
wipe cache partition ok
wipe dalvik cache ok
in mounts and storage , wipe system , data and cache there is not but wipe format. In format, the kernel is gone and the CWM also
6. flash Super Jelly Bean ok
8. only for neo (mt15i) users patch here posted below. ok
7.flash gapps : use this link : Gapps For SJB ok
8.flash wifi modules of respective kernel NO

I have not tried SJB, so I can only tell you the normal procedure.
Try with another JB ROM and follow the steps I explained to you. In general it's better to use the kernel inside the ROM. Open the ROM with any zip tool and extract the kernel (the boot.img file)
If it works, then try again with SJB.
BTW Fusion is a closed thread. Try with the latest release. It will be more stable (this I used in the past)

Hey,
thanks for the replies and the help.
I did it step by step, I've tried other Roms. The phone did not start easy.
I have now pulled the CM10 and installed so as I know it and as it was described ... it worked right away.
Funny that it was not with the others.
The thing with the kernel I do not understand quite.
Your writing should I extract the kernel. But when I look purely at the Rome, I see no boot.img or the like.
Also, almost all of which any kernel you should write JP supported. I had the merger kernel, which is designed to support in any case and is also recommended for the above Rome.

hello..
i've search thru the forum, and my prob is somehow differ than others..
already unlocked bootloader.. apply custom kernel successfully..
step i do to flash rom:
- backup in CWM
- reboot into recovery [power button then repeatedly press volume up]
- [wipe cache partition, advance wipe dalvik cache, battery stat]
- install custom ROM zip from sdcard (with no ERROR reports or problem during flashing)
- reboot into system
still stuck at sony logo.. wait around 1 hour.. nothing happened...
then i remove battery, try to boot into cwm..
success..
but the cwm background pic changed with wording "CWM-based recovery v5.0.2.7 Full (by DooMLoRD)".. not like before.. and i restored back..
the ROM i tried is Pureness build 3 and jjHybrid 3.1.. both give same problem..
check screenshot of my system below.. is there's any problem with my system?
or it is related to odex?
so.. got any idea or possible solution?
or my phone problem itself?
thx in advance...
try other kernel...
1. Pureness build 3 ,Kernel :Night Elfs ICS Kernel mod
2. jjHybrid 3.1,Kernel Use any of Following
a) STOCK Kernel (No OverClocking)
b) shardul_seth Kernel
c) Night-Elf Kernel
d) Adridu kernel

I see that you are not wiping/formatting your data.. Wiping data is essential when installing a custom ROMs or switching ROMs..
Before wiping cache, format your data first!

The data has to be wiped when you install a custom ROM.. Since some of the data can cause troubles to the new ROM you have installed..
I advice you to do the following when installing a ROM.. Follow step by step..
- Flash the kernel first
- Boot into CWM mode by pressing 'volume down'
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- install custom zip from sd card i.e your custom ROM zip file
- reboot now
there you go now!
PS. Data formatting has to be done in CWM mode and it will not erase your sd data! So relax!
Also, press 'Thanks' if I helped you!

before this with alliance1.1 and suave6 kernel work with no probs.
must i tell this in every reply?
this is the exact step doing all of this..
flash kernel via fastboot thru command prompt window..
and flash rom thru cwm with this step..
- reboot into recovery [power button then repeatedly press volume up]
- [wipe data/factory reset, cache partition, advance wipe dalvik cache, battery stat]
- install custom ROM zip from sdcard (with no ERROR reports or problem during flashing)
- reboot into system
and chill bro. i have problem here, and i ask about it because i dont know what to do.
and fastboot folder must placed in android-sdk folders or it is not necessary?
bump
Are you sure the kernels are compatible with the custom ROM you are using? Usually the developer suggests some ROMs. Also, you might need a different baseband for the kernels you are using. Which ROM are you using? Some have extra steps you have to perform.

Only boot.img has to be placed in android sdk folder.

Sorry I'm not awake today. Boot.img must be in android sdk and only the fastboot.exe file. I doubt it's got anything to do with that though, if you can successfully flash kernels.

HEY EVEN I HAD THE SAME SAME PROBLEM BEFORE...its was that i followed all the steps n still was stuck at bootlogo
even if i tried to go to recovery n flash the rom again , it simply said CANNOT MOUNT SD CARD.
So I tried to format my sd card using SDFORMATTER 3.1 and flashed the om again and  it WORKED
SO BASICALLY TRY TO FORMAT THE SD CARD USING SD FORMATTER software and not the windows default one.
IT WORKED FOR ME AND HOPE IT WILL FOR YOU ALSO
SD CARD FORMATTER 3.1 link google it
hey guys... really need help here...
i just successful UNLOCKED Bootloader,CWM and install custom kernel..
After fastboot the custom kernel (suave) then enter the CWM to flash custom ROM(Xperia_Ice_Cream_Pureness_build_6.00_NeoV)... wipe all data and other common step.. then i reboot the system
My phone get boot loop after that. So i remove the battery then enter the CWM again.. but the colour change to red and detect my phone as "xperia ARC".. plzzz.. i really stuck here
I installed Shin Engine v3 and SE V5 but both dont worked. I followed that steps:
"Installation
Download Rom and copy to Sd card
Reboot into CWM Recovery
enter Mount and Storage -> /format system
Wipe data/factory reset -> Wipe cache partition enter Advance -> /wipe dalvik cache /wipe battery stats
Flash ROM = wait until finish
Reboot. Done". That you can get it here. "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551522"
I unlock root and bootloader, installed nAa 11 Kernel.
Then after I install the rom I reboot and then the cellphone keep rebooting infinitely.
What can I do?
Flash Alfs v08a CM7 no FPS cap version(optional, but always working+better performance). I tried these ROMs and they worked. However, if you use an ICS ROM like ShinEngine V3(not BostonEngine v5), you MUST use nAa ICS kernel!! Otherwise it won't work for you. If you have the correct kernel, correct ROM and still not working, try reflashing the ROM and NOT wiping everything and vice versa.
Good luck!
hi,
I was on CM 9 nightly http://www.cyanogenmod.org/devices/sony-ericsson-xperia-ray
and just tryed to upgrade for the newest version there !
(copy last version to sd, wipe cache - dalvik, flash, reboot)
And now, i'm stucked on freeXperia logo
cant even flash something else (assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")...)
Have you flashed the latest kernel (should be included in the zip)?
If this doesn't work, wippe data/factory reset and flash it again.
If you get the getprop error, open MetaInf-com-google-android-updater-script and delete the first 3 lines (they start with getprop). Pack zip again and flash it :good:

well, i dont know for the kernel : i did (like for my GS2) install zip for sd card, then choose the the CM9 version. Isn't the kernel flashed same time?
i tryed wipe data/factory reset, the flash doesnt work
the MetaInf-com-google.... solution works : i can flash it again without the error.
Thanks bro!
Kernel must be flashed via flashtool or fastboot. How to do that (flashing the boot.img) is in the tutorial for installing custom roms/kernels in my signature :good:

No, xperia phone aren like sammy phone which got separate recovery and kernel partition. In fact, by default stock, xperia phone doesnt even have any recovery. The kernel must be flashed via fastboot before flashing rom. Recovery integrated into kernel ramdisk.
Hi guys, you can tell me how to install this rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012666
What kernel should I use for better results?
I think like any other rom...
Put it into your sd-card, reboot to CWM and do the wipes(Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system) and the install the .zip
But first of all you should flash the kernel which is given in the download(together with the rom)
AW: [Q] How to install this rom? xD
I think he better should not format system
Just wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and advanced -> wipe dalvik cache!

Nothing wrent wrong :fingers-crossed:
Any ICS kernel is compatible. I strongly recommend MESA Hybrid v3.5 or LuPuS v3. I also recommend to format system before flashing new ROM. I've done it over 100 times safely. You'll avoid a lot of problems.

Press THANKS if I helped,

I tried the rom(with rage kernel 3.2), and always go in bootloop
make sure u already have ur ROM on sdcard and the others (wifi-fix.zip or whatever)
on CMW, u can safely wipe /system when u wanna flash new ROM, but REMEMBER not to reboot your phone AFTER u wipe /system. if u do this, u will see "new boot kernel animation" a.k.a BOOTLOOP.
after wipe /system,/cache,/dalvik,/data,/sd-ext then next thing is install ur ROM.
if u using TWRP, its not necessary to wipe /system bcoz TWRP will wiping /system by itself when u install new ROM.

Flash it using flashtool
And boot up to gingerbread os. The touch will work now
Now flash the kernel and then the rom of your choice.
When ever your touch stops working. Just chill and flash the official ginger bread firmware (ftf file) by sony

use the ics-ftf gb is outdated. also flashing stock.ics.ftf is a requirement for LX.
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239?tstart=0
after u flashed t just install LX like this (dont do more ; not less !)
- place ROM.zip & gapps ON SD
- power off device, flash KERNEL inside ROM zip
- in mounts & storage format: /system /data /cache
- install ROM & gapps
-boot that sh*t XD
good luck too u.
