The Crackling sound Solution - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Sorry if the title gave you all false hope.
But I wanted to create a thread we can all subscribe to, where we can share our future solution(s) to this problem.
Solutions, up coming updates or even the culprit. Anything we hear from Samsung, Sprint or even the sales guy in the middle of the mall.
Don't know if everyone would like this but I'm tired of checking the different forums and threads excited with hope every time I see a notification, and only to find more complainting or non - sense of how many times you've changed your phone.

Most likely because:
1) You wanted an answer on New Years
2) An answer within 8 hours (goes with #1)
3) The fact you're not rooted makes what you are experiencing something that should not happen and really few options to fix it.
4) The rootzwiki thunderbolt forums are generally more active, but if you need instant answers and "OMG I CANT WAITTTT IT'LLL KILLL MEEEEEE," then I suggest going on IRC
I would root and install something else (another ROM) or return the phone and complain to verizon about it.
yeah, it just seems like your best option is to root or return it, considering it's brand new and you already tried a factory reset. I would probably return it...who knows what's causing that issue on the stock firmware, or what issues it might cause on other ROMs.
are you able to download to the phone from other sources, or is it definitely just the Market?

2) was 700 miles from home
3) this was second post
4) this is the q n a section, is it not?
5) ive been with xda for a long time, if you look at my past, you see helpful posts, not smartass answers like yours.
If you didnt have a decent solution, then dont reply.

Not to start a war but your 2nd post seemed smart ass to me. Also sounded like a slight knock to the forum as well.
Sorry no one could be at your hands and feet groveling with answers, but as pointed out to you, its the holidays and people have things going on.
more patience and maybe asking the second time in a nicer tone might have helped...

So i didnt ask nice the first time? Also, this was not my first post, the other got no answer also, so when i post 2 questions, nicely, and get nothing, well it makes you wonder. Ive been around these forums longer than some of the mods, ive never seen that in all my time here. If my post offended anyone, i do apologize, but as far as people doing things, well it wasnt like i was just sitting at my phone, i was taking the wife and kids across 3 states to visit family and traveling in a car 1500 miles. Thats why there is an xda APP. You dont need a pc.

Haha, I just searched using my phone xda app and I am not finding anything besides my post.
I have four little kids running around and don't have gobs of time to search for threads on here that I can't find. I Googled and found threads from last year but nothing from today.
I'm simply trying to get my piece of crap phone to run better.
Site is back on for me now but still no luck with AIOK and i've posted a question in his thread.
I apologize for ruining your Saturday.

I wasn't trying to be a d!<% or anything, it's just that almost every day multiple people create new threads and half the time they are almost all asking the same thing, or there is already like 3 diff threads asking the same thing. I had seen at least two threads about maybe a week ago about people people having trouble with HTC dev not working. Anyways it was nothing against you, but it's been happening so much lately, it begins to drive u crazy

XDA is a place to help people . not comment on how they could do things differently . and if you even looked or tried to look for these people who need the APK, there is none on Google . yeah, there are links that say Xonomail Beta . but if you go to them, it makes you go to the Play Store to download them . so in the future, i suggest checking before you say things . and don't be a jerk to people who don't deserve it . all they asked for was a simple APK file so that they can try the application since it cannot be used outside of the U.S. remember that XDA is a community and we are supposed to help one another . not fight with people unnecessarily .
here is the APK file . hope you enjoy it .

Personally, I love reading threads on XDA. It contains a lot of information which helps non programmers (aka Noobs) like me. My understanding of XDA was that it is a place to help fellow Androiders and not a place to argue, be rude, be un-helpful or downright dis-respectful. That is the main reason why I joined and have learnt a lot about Android, modding and rooting. But, I do get put off when people argue on threads, are un-helpful or treat other users with dis-respect. And on this thread, there is one user who is guilty of dis-respect (yep. you know who you are). And on that issue, I echo the thoughts of others. If you can't help others gain a better Android experience, then kindly keep your opinions to yourself. Overall, I find 95% of XDA Users extremely helpful and I thank them sincerely.
@Asphyxiation, I live in Australia and can't get this APK either. So thank you very much for sharing. Mighty kind of you.
Cheers
Thanks to this thread, I've just downloaded it. Doesn't do Exchange, which means I still can't abandon the stock mail app. Also doesn't handle Gmail corporate accounts - no biggie for me. I like the concept of it, so I'll give it a try. Google does not seem willing to make Gmail app any less irritating (who on earth reads their email backwards?!) so I'm always on the lookout for a good email app that isn't stupidly overpriced.
You can't get it in the UK yet because it's US only, unfortunately. I suppose that wouldn't stop anyone from using a proxy though if they're really desperate.

Dude if that was pointed at me I've already apologised so why do you insist? Yes I assumed people were being lazy, yes I did not check the Google links and yes I was somewhat of a douche but what else do you want beside my apologies? Nails and a cross perhaps? I also joined xda last year as a noob and in less than a year I had mods out and I always have been helpful but I also have the right and fault to make mistakes even though I admit them right away.

Yeah some people just want stock AT&T Sense. Anyways, I believe it's AT&T fault for not rolling out the update. HTC leaves it up to the carrier to when they want to release the update. I could be wrong because Tmo and Sprint hasn't released 4.2.2 either. I have a feeling that The Verizon HTC one will be released before we see an update.

I've been on 4.2.2 for a little over a month now. Everything just works, and no AT&T bloat. Also have the AT&T OTA radio flashed and the build.prop tweaks needed for the new channels.

Hahaha like it's all HTCs fault... International has it and there is basically no difference between international and AT&T software besides stupid bloat, so go complain to AT&T if you want. I'm sure they'll send the OTA to your phone right there on the spot.
Posts/threads like this are way to common and a waste of space, I just don't get it.

yeah what's up with this? didn't XDA used to require like 50 posts before you could start a thread? this is why we have androidforums.com. regardless, HTC needs to spend more on marketing so that more people will buy their products and ATT will have to prioritize the updating. this delay is not on HTC...it's almost 100% on AT&T. ATT had the HOX JB update for like 3.5 months before they pushed it out to people, and their own customer service isn't even made privy to the status. this is what the purchase of subsidized phones and contracts gets us consumers. if it's REALLY a problem for you, then you're at XDA for the solution. this isn't a place to complain. if you want stock sense, that's fine, I can totally appreciate it, but you dont come to, and sign up for, a Dev website to ***** about the lack of a stock OTA from a carrier known to take (queue Sandlot) FOR-EV-ER to update it's phones.
Interesting. Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful comments. I have rooted a lot of phones and wanted to see why the update was not moving forward. The extra colorful comments are welcomed as well. The only issue with forums is I could be gaining advise from experts or middle school students.

I think the snide replies are rooted in the fact that the basic sentiment of your original post has been stated an overwhelming amount of times on this website, especially with regards to AT&T and HTC issuing an OTA for major - and even minor - software updates. Many folks get tired of coming to this site to read the same thing, hence the increased likelihood of getting a snide reply.
Truthfully, the update probably is moving forward, it's just that AT&T is about as transparent as the Bush administration so we never have any clue where things stand with regards to actual delivery of the updates. Yes, forums is probably going to be hit or miss with regards to quality of advice. But the way you're delivering your comment here makes you seem like you should be in forums, and is probably going to get you some colorful responses from non-middle schoolers.
If you've rooted as much as you claim, you probably know that we almost never know why carrier updates are not moving forward....or if they're moving forward at all. Many come here to find technical solutions and workarounds to that exact ongoing problem, and often get annoyed seeing the same thing posted again and again in each subforum. I think the general assumption here is that many of us are, in fact, frequently posting complaints/concerns/comments on carrier and manufacturer websites, social media pages, forums, etc. We're all on the same boat, or at least many of us.
We welcome rallying for a cause here, but it's possible there's a better way to go about starting a rally for this issue. In the past, folks have posted the actual interactions they've received from customer support reps and techs, feedback responses, etc, and discussions have ensued as to the best ways to get in touch with the companies involved with regards to really displaying the distaste of both the developer and general enthusiast consumer. The AT&T/Rogers/Telus HTC One X forums is a great case study, in particular, the rally around getting the original JB update RUU, source, etc.
I've had a few interactions with HTC and ATT with regards to future updates, but have gotten absolutely zero information from them. Sadly, they mask their lack of sharing as ignorance all too well. Even more sad is that CSRs and technicians are probably not really lying at all when they claim to know nothing about the updates. Again, we're hooked into contract, not to mention that the vast majority of their consumers don't realize the potential benefits of upgrades, and in many cases aren't even aware of their potential existence. That's where we'll probably really see the change, in getting more people familiarized with the beast we are burdened to deal with; not here, but in the general public.

Strange, then why didn't you ask WHY it wasn't moving forward? Instead you complained that its taking to long and then blindly blamed HTCs new marketing campaign for the delay? Doesn't make any SENSE (pun intended).

What exactly is wrong with asking for an ETA?

A contributor or dev posts a ROM and many people download and flash it. The ROM is solid yet has a few bugs. The Dev responds to comments about these bugs and says they will be fixed in the next release. For the benefit of the doubt let's say a few weeks go by and the Dev volunteers info about this ROM but says a release isn't ready yet. Fair enough. A few more weeks go by with no mention of a release. Why is asking for an ETA frowned upon in this, albeit rare, situation?
The go to response is "these guys do this on their own time. They aren't being paid. How dare you even assume to think that you deserve any sort of progress update". I get it, but my point is, the Dev posts a ROM for it to be used by the people and to get offended because someone asks for an ETA is kind of ridiculous to me. If the Dev was doing it for just himself he wouldn't post it on the forum and I'm saying that making the ROM public comes with a few caveats. Like maybe some people have an Interest in progress.
Full disclosure: I've been an xda user for a long time and I've seen many people needlessly get their heads bitten off for asking for an ETA. I want to ask for an ETA in a thread and I'm afraid of the stupid backlash.
Maybe this goes in the general section. I'm not sure. I am technically asking a question.

Maybe this goes in the general section. I'm not sure. I am technically asking a question.

Well let's see,
They are doing this on their own time and money
They are doing this for FREE
The have jobs,
They have familys
Changing one item will or may affect other portions of the rom
Sometimes the best of intentions don't work out
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FIVE MINUTE JOB
It only takes a couple of minutes............................................hours later the change still does not work!!!!!
You should be ashamed for even bringing the topic up!

Then crack a couple books and start learning yourself rather than sitting on the sidelines asking the coach when you are gonna get some game time while only wearing your shower cap!
This is so funny to me. Everybody walks on eggshells and they all think the same thing. "I wonder how the Dev is coming along"? It's hilarious.

I don't think that. I am happy a Rom is even released. In a house building scenario: you build a house/shelter for everyone. There is a minor flaw in the foundation due to termites or something... Nothing too serious, not life threatening. You still have to go and fix it without messing up anything on top of the foundation. You try to fix it only to see making that quick fix actually made the plumbing wonky. You fix the plumbing only to see it made it worse. Might as well just keep it the way it was before.

Honestly, this post is more directed at users who get bent out of shape when someone even mentions an ETA. rudeness is the perfect word. I've never asked because I personally feel similar to you. I still wonder, though. The reaction to this question by users makes my skin crawl.
Related: when someone is ordered to read an OP and subsequent posts that consists of 100 pages. Really? I just want to know what the bugs are and I'm being told to read small talk anecdotes and broken English? It's stupid and rude.

I get where you are coming from. If its a month out on something that was said a few days or a week. In that sense someone should reach out to the dev. If it hadn't happened with the instagram downloaded for xposed then none would have started the project themselves. But for other things, you do have to remember most of the people here lead a life with full time jobs and maybe a family issue or job issue came up. While they are making these things for us, it isn't their responsibility to inform people they Dont really know if a family member died or something.

I agree. I'm also not calling out the devs with this post, although it may seem that way. The devs are the experts here and of course they have lives not connected to android. My beef is with the children like buddy up there with the first reply on this thread. His answer is exactly why I've been staying away from these forums.

Just ignore em. Gotta remember there are people that are angry in general and that need to find an outlet for it. Not your fault, just the internet. Easily ignored. I think it was a good question. Been following these forums for over a year now and you do see it all too often.

If that's what you think then you should know you came off wrong...which happens when conversing over type.
I took your post to be in the same offensive category as the self entitled who demand updates. (And yes I deal with them too).
I would much rather be wrong on my initial assessment of your OP but please understand how it was received.
Hi all...this thread caught my eye. Interesting subject. Nothing wrong with it. Its the little script kiddies that hold real devs to god-like status that act rude.
Been around since the G1. Hasn't changed. If a dev is worth a flip he or she will not get all bent out of shape. Has the right to say back off but at least it's from the guy with the actual talent saying it! I've seen devs eat that crap up and get diva complexes which makes me laugh when it happens. Threatening to stop work yada yada. Told one to piss off and leave...a long time ago, different forum. Someone took up that diva's slack...ended up with a nice ROM for a crap phone.
Good times.
