hi all ,
yesterday i just rooted my Galaxy siii and now i am trying to run Ubuntu on it ,
so for the run script in need the x permission but for some reason i cant change the files permissions , i try the command line
su
chmod +x filename.sh
or
chmod 777 or 775 filsname.sh
it don't give an error but after ls -l see that the file still don't get x permission
and still cant run it i try with 2 terminals and withe the commander program but all of them don't success to give the wright permission to the file !
any ideas ? , i search on the forum and the internet find some threads with other devises but with no answer !
Where is the file? You can't change permissions for files on sdcard
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
will i think about that so i try ..
/mnt/exsdcard/ubuntu
after that
/mnt/sdcard/ubuntu
after that
/mnt/sdcard
but didn't work
so where to put it ?
You don't need to change it. You just
su
sh ubuntu.sh
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
put it say permission denied ! , even after su !
Yes I have that issue too. Only on s3 not other phones.
My work around was to run it using script manager. Setting the root permission
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
i just tried that , didn't work
i tried : like is script :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and like is executable
and you can see the root " the green thing in the corner "
http://postimage.org/image/vqg6qaobv/
http://postimage.org/image/xjj3em9ij/
Works fine for me. Did script manager ask for root?
You have to set root on the properties. Also make sure its set as script not executable

1. Check your APP, should have a SuperSU with a "#" icon.
update it from PLAY store, it should become a "super Android" icon.
2. open it and check new version binary libary update. setup notification mode.
if that not work for you. try search a flash-able version SuperSU to flash.
then with ROOT Explorer or File manager HD, you can mount /system as writable.
check the file manager HD setup, you can click the 2 checkbox.

That mean you do not gain root permission.
Install busybox from PLAY store and update its binary then try again.

Hey guys, When the pen is used on CGROM, the pointer shows up... Its really annoying, so I made a small flashable package to get rid of it...
Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?g5iic8u352vw79v
MD5: f2d23d827a870e43451c5bfc709d104c
For those people who are having trouble flashing it:
1. Download and extract the zip.
2. Copy the framework-res.apk to your sd-card.
3. Using any file manager with root control, move it to /system/framework. (Overwriting the old one)
4. Set permissions to 644.
5. Reboot... Enjoy!
NOTE: This is not an official release by yncconsulting!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If this helped you or you like it please click thanks!
Thanks for the file but when I try to install it I get an error in the installation process it said status 6 whatever that means. Any ideas.
Maybe an md5 for the file.
Sent from my HTC Express using xda premium
Alright, fixed... Redownload, check md5, flash away!
Md5 matches but still getting installation aborted (status 6) something I am doing wrong but I don't know what I could be doing wrong flashing with CWM any other ideas?
Sent from my HTC Express using xda premium
Hmm are you using the CWM that is flashed by HC Multi Tool?
OP Updated.
worked great
Thanks for this it worked great and now the pointer is gone thanks for the great work.

Depends on what your using to copy it... But this is standard:
Press and hold the file until you get the options menu, find permissions on the list and click it... Make sure it looks like this:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

First and foremost here is the thread I believe to be OP abandoned and I give small credit to cause of the lack of upholding it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586472
Visit the thread above and grab the fastboot.bin file and move it to
system/bin (rename to fastboot)
Change permissions to ?

Once you have fastboot where it needs to be than you now need to know where to place flashable files right?
(root of sdcard)
Below is a video of how to flash a custom recovery using a Tablet to an HTC ONE M8 .the process can be performed from phone to phone,tablet to tablet,phone to tablet,tablet to phone .
