WiFi problem after flash with twrp - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I seem to be encountering a problem somewhere with every Rom I try to flash except for one. Every other Rom will encounter a WiFi error, even the backup I made before flashing anything in the begining. Is this a problem twrp is having with the evo 4g lte, or something else? Any help is appreciated greatly.

The ROM that worked is a port of Sense 5.0 by Sinistertensai. I have tried various other sense based ROM's like Captain Throwbacks 3.17 stock rooted base and Sharkie-Rom v2.5.1, and then of course the backup I made of my original ROM after installing TWRP. If it helps I am on the newest version of TWRP. Thanks for any help/advice you can give.

Upgrading Firmware

Hi all
From what i see in the Sensation forums, you have to 'upgrade firmware' in order to install ICS even on a completelt s-off'd and rooted phone. This doesnt make sense to me because youre installing a custom OS which has nothing to do with the official stuff. Anyway the real point.. do we as evo 3d users (gsm) have to go thru the same hastle when ics comes out, and is it a one time thing or you have to di it everytime before flashing a new rom? Man i have no idea how to flash stuff from bootloader or whatever so im nervous about this, im s-off tho
Thanks, expert advice would be greatly appreciated!

Firmware has to be updated to work with ICS kernel (3.x), I believe if you can use a 2.x kernel, no firmware change is necessary.

I'm using Virtuous right now and it's working great.
Keep in mind, with Sense 4.0 ROMs you are losing 3D and TV-Out. (Sometimes even WiFi Tethering)
Try to do a full clean flash of the ROM, wipe all data and partitions, then flash.
Done it, with superwipe of ext4 and tried with super clean zip file and still the same problem

4G Not Working

Having a problem with my 4G. After I unlocked the bootloader with Team Fireball's toolkit, it was working. It stopped after I flashed a CyanogenMod Official (Nightly) ROM to it. I have tried to flash some fireball radios for it, but they won't seem to flash at all. Any ideas??

Read this post in Mdmower's thread. CM may have broken your radios. It is fixable though.

Thanks, I will attempt to fix it and let you know how it goes.

I attempted he fix but it was a no-go. I still only have 3G (eHRPD) working. What could be causing this? I even went S-OFF and reflashed the stock radio again. That didn't do anything either. I have a screenshot of what the radio settings are.
Would flashing the RUU do the trick?

did you flash the boot image using fastboot commands, this is required if s-on or if you flash one of nitsuj's roms
Hey I'm new here. Been lurking for awhile hehe
Anyways to the point, just wanted to say how I also have the no 4G connectivity problem also. I unlocked bootloader using unlock script. and then flashed twrp recovery, then installed Venoms Viper LTE rom and then flashed the upgrade to 2.0.0. This is all I've done as far as rooting and flashing is concerned other than going back to stock to try to recover 4g usability. So I'm assuming that means I'm s-on as well. would flashing the boot image like you said help me? I have already tried replacing the SIM with a new one but that didn't help and Im not sure as to what I should try next. Not trying to hijack your post just wanted to make sure it didn't get buried and we can hopefully find a solution to our problem. Strength in numbers and all that.
By the way I had my phone since last September and then two to three weeks after ownership I went ahead and rooted it and flashed new ROM because I knew it was, well, in need lol. Haven't had 4G since then but I tweaked 3G settings so that it's usable lol.

if you flashed viper the boot image is not in the rom zip, yes you need to flash boot image it contains the kernel and wifi modules
I am S-OFF. But I tried switching my CDMA Subscription (CyanogenMod 10.1) (Settings --> Wireless & Networks - More --> Mobile Networks --> CDMA Subscriptions) from RUIM/SIM to NV. That did fix the 4G connectivity problem, but it disabled calling and texting abilities. What could this mean? And what boot IMG were you talking about?

Now I have other theories. But don't know if they're right. For one, I looked up a sim card reader (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.okata.app.simcardlist) and it says my radio is CDMA. Doesn't even mention LTE at all. Not sure, but yeah.

Returning Back to Stock From Cyanogenmod 10.2

Hello to anyone who is gracious enough to help me. I am currently trying to revert my HTC Evo 4G LTE back to any stock rom for the purpose of trying to use Straight Talk. After finding out that there's really no way of using Straight Talk with CM, I am now attempting to go back to any working stock rom. I have run into brickwall after brickwall. If there is anyone out there that can lead the way, please help me. Everytime I mess around with my phone, I don't know whether to grab a USB cable or a box of tissues from all the tears that are about to be had. Anyways. I appreciate anyones time on the matter. Thank you and remember to brush your teeth.

If you're S-off, you can simply flash a stock ROM like Captain Throwback's 3.17 base ROM (it's based off the most recent OTA update from Sprint). If you're not S-off you'll need to flash the kernel (boot.img) separately from the ROM itself. For more info on how to do that, hit the top link in my sig and scroll down to the section on S-on kernel flashing.
Here is a link to Captain Throwback's ROM:

You'll need to install the SuperSU app from the Play Store to have root access after flashing his ROM.

[Q] Stock Rom with S-OFF and recovery

My sprint 3D has a custom rom with S-OFF. It seems impossible to get 3D camera working without stock kernel. I would rather get back to stock rom. Is there is a way to get back to stock rom still with S-OFF and recovery? Or there is already an answer in the forum but I just did not find it?
Actually you can have 3D camera with custom rom. The problem is: it is possible only with ICS roms, because drivers for 3D camera are available only for Android 4.0.3. HTC did not release those driver for newer Androids. If you want to have KitKat then the answer is "no, you will not have 3D".
Example of custom ROM with working 3D: YAS4 v11. That's rom for my GSM but I'm sure you can find something for your CDMA.
BTW: There is a petition to HTC about releasing source code to those drivers. Sign it. Maybe that will help to include 3D in newer Androids...
If you flash the ruu pg86img.zip you will have stock recovery and stock ROM..while still s off

I am on Revolution 2.0.1 by mike1986. It is a great rom base on stock 4.0.3, stable mostly. I just found it lost ring volume sometimes. Other than that it works perfectly. My guess is that stock room might be the most stable and optimized for a daily driver.
evo 3D without 3D makes less sense to me. Also smoothness, stability, and battery life are all concerns for those 4.4 roms.
I already sign for the drivers, but I do not think HTC will release it.
