[Q] S4 locking computers when connected to WiFi - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

This is a US Cellular version of the S4, but I couldn't find a US Cellular thread.
The S4 connects to wifi just fine, and operates perfectly; however the 2 other computers on the same network all but completely lock up, slowing them to a crawl.
No problems with the Nexus7 and S3 connected to the same network, but the S4 destroys them. It's connected to a constant 3G network, so I know it's not updating constantly. I can't find any settings that pertain to this on the S4.
Any ideas what could be causing the problem. It's not just the one network. It's any Wifi network I connect to with the S4.

[Q] Wifi creating incorrect GPS location

Has anyone else noticed behavior where turning on wifi places you in a completely different locale? I've seen this behavior for a couple of days now, and finally was able to replicate it by simply turning wifi on or off. If I have wifi on the phone says I am in Coppell, TX. However, I am actually in eastern MA, and when I'm on 3g or 4g only it correctly displays my location. I'm on Sprint for the phone and seeing this on my home network with a VZ Fios connection, at my gf's with a Comcast cable connection and at work which is a Sprint DS3 connection.

I know there is logic used to determine location based on wifi hotspots. This data can be outdated or completely incorrect.
Ideally, they seem to prefer using both GPS and WiFI to determine location. The GPS should be more precise while WiFi should give a rough larger region, but smaller than the cell tower region.
Not sure there is anyway to force an update to their data. I occasionally had this issue but as time has gone on, the issues have corrected themselves and locations have become more accurate.
Hope that helps!

[Q] Data connectivity issue when moving 2G to 3G

Hi all,
I'm having a data connectivity issue on my phone when moving from 2G to 3G. If I'm connected to 2G, then move into an area of 3G coverage the phone will successfully migrate to the 3G network, however the data connection will often not start up for between 30 minutes and severanl hours. Flipping airplane mode will *sometimes* fix it, but more frequently, even rebooting the phone won't work. However, if I lock the phone to 3G from the settings, I do not encounter this issue at all. It only happens on my home provider (Jersey Telecom - they're small). In the UK, on Three, it didn't happen.
So, given that the problem can persist over reboots, and doesn't happen in the UK, it makes me think it's more likely a network issue, so I called them up. The network engineer managed to reproduce the issue on his colleagues Samsung Galaxy Note, but they are adamant that it's a phone issue and not a network issue, and is a matter of Samsung not sticking to the specs. The phone isn't currently rooted, but I can root it if it will help me debug the problem. From the sounds of it, it may be problem consistent to all Samsung radio phones on our network.. and I really don't want to switch to another phone.
They say that from their logs, the phone is not always trying to create (or presumably, migrate?) a PDP when moving to a 3G network. It's hard to say whether it's a problem with the phone or their logs.. has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Does anyone know how to access logs about the phone trying to create a PDP etc. so that I have something to compare with theirs?
Thanks

[Q] Portable Hotspot/Android Tether limited connectivity

For some reason, when I tether my phone's Internet it works fine for a moment or a long time and then it switches to limited connectivity. No Internet connection on any of the connected devices, even if I reset the connection. Only restarting my phone seems to work.
Using stock Android 4.0.4 and the stock tether.
Has anybody else experienced this? Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Well, none of you bothered to reply to this, so I might as well. After I upgraded to 4.1.1 it seemed to work better, and it wouldn't turn off if I leave power saving off. However, the internet still randomly refuses to work on my laptop and only connects again if I restart the phone.

4G or 3G model? I have to turn LTE off because if it bounces around from LTE to 3G+ on my i9305T it tends to hang. I cant use wifi tether at all when CM10.1 when LTE is enabled, well I can use it but its very unstable. Try turning LTE off. If that's not the issue I'm sorry I can't help.

I don't really know because I don't have LTE at my location, the best reception I get is HSPDA+ which I heard is like 3.5G. I'm not really sure if my device is capable of 4G/LTE. It occasionally switches to E-GPRS when I'm not using the internet. But very rarely (like maybe once in 2 days), the internet just refuses to connect both in my phone and laptop eventhough the data indicator has the green and orange arrow on. When I restart it, it usually works fine. It's really confusing.

Using multiple APN's - Verizon Note4 on T-Mobile and AT&T networks

I searched the web for 15 minutes and came up with nothing good, so I'm asking the general audience here at XDA.
Basically, it comes down to: If I need to use APN settings for my carrier, like using Verizon Note4 on T-Mobile network, what happens when my phone connects to another carrier like AT&T with HSPA+ that doesn't match up to the current APN settings?
The immediate answer appears to be that I won't get any data while on the AT&T network.
In more detail:
I have a Note 4 that was purchased through Verizon long ago. I recently rooted and rommed this device to CyanogenMod and put a T-Mobile SIM in it. I added the T-Mobile APN settings and it works fine on T-Mobile LTE since the Note4 has the correct 700MHz band (or whatever). However, when I'm driving to work, the connection drops from T-Mobile and it hooks up to AT&T (I think) and shows H+ in my notification bar. I assume that's HSPA+ from AT&T, as that is the only carrier that has HSPA+ in my entire state. When it does this, I believe that my data connection does not work because SiriusXM stops playing music and stuff. Sometimes the Note4 will reconnect to T-Mobile network pretty quickly and SiriusXM resumes playing (at 2x speed like Chipmunks....it's a terrible app honestly).
I'm wondering if I need APN settings for the AT&T HSPA+ network that my phone connects to while driving. Which makes me wonder how APNs work, like does the phone detect which one it needs to use as your cellular connection changes. Or can you combine 2 APN's to help my situation somehow? Is this why people have multiple SIM cards?
Thanks!

No wifi calling button on Galaxy a10e with AT&T chip

Hi all, my first time on this forum. I use consumer cellular and until last week, had the Tmoblie chip/network. Other than difficulty getting a signal in some places, the phone worked fine. The other day, I switched to the AT&T chip in hopes of getting a more consistent signal, but since installing this chip, I can no longer use wifi calling. In fact, the wifi calling option is no longer even on the options screen. All I show under Connections is Wifi, and Bluetooh. Nothing else. I've called Consumer Celluar and they haven't been able to figure it out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
