If you are on a stock Sony ROM then you can flash the modified kernel from krabapple
You'll need to have a look at the threads about using flashtool.. which will flash the kernel.
The kernel has CWM embedded in it.

i'm on the latest firmware and it doesn't work for me
^^ not sure why not, I've flashed over 5+ different .257 roms and it always workes.
Fyi.. I now use xblast to resize my softkeys as it gives you heaps of different sizes to choose from (plus I use it's advanced power menu) its a paid app though (xposed framework app)

When I try to install, I have the screen where it authorizes to access my personal data, and I have the choice between install or cancel.

Bootanimation is universal. I tried using the one directly from the system dump. too laggy
Used this and fixed some png. Pretty much the same as original
