Trying to install Josh's Jellybomb rom but it keeps giving a failed error. Here are the steps I did.
I wiped everything and then installed freeza's mi5 update
Wiped again and flashed Josh's Jellybomb rom
That's the furthest I got, it says md5 doesn't match, unable to install zip...
I downloaded the md5 file included on Josh's upload but when I try to flash through TWRP, the md5 file does not even show up..can someone help please?
This would probably get answered quicker in his thread.
But since it looks like your following the right steps I'll give you the quick hint of....
Check to see if the md5 matches the downloaded file before trying to flash it.
The md5 will not show up in recovery.
The md5 is just to check against your download to be sure you have a good copy.
It's possible you downloaded an incomplete or corrupt file.

U can probably use md5 checker in the market.
I'm sure there are a ton of apps that do the same.
I usually just check it on the pc before I copy the file to my phone.
There are a ton of ways to do it. Most good compression tools should have this feature built in even.

Using md5 checker specifically but should be similar to all of them.
Just select file one as the image you want to flash.
Set file two to the md5
Press check
The md5 hash from the file to flash should be an exact match to the md5 checksum
If it's not an exact match then bad download try again.

I tried it. It's not fun. I was running paranoid ICS before, but I still wiped data and dalvik and cache. I flashed the ROM and it gave me an error (I cant remember) when I tried to boot it (after trying 3 times to flash) I finally got to a paranoid bootlogo, which it has stayed at for the past hour. I was being dumb and when I wiped data deleted my backup. So now I am in a poop situation. Aslo, I tried restoring from a nandroid. It didnt work (md5 mismatch) EDIT: Now when I try to flash it it says there is an error in (the path of the zip) status 6 and it aborts installation. Today is such a great day!
You might want to restore Entropys kernel and test it yourself. Thanks

i know when ever had that issue with the md5 error when flashing from ics to jelly bean what helped me was first flashing the rom that the nandroid backup came from and then you restore your backup
There seems to be no support from the OP, Thread Closed. OP if you require a reopen send PM. Thanks

Hello xda members.
First of all maybe i'm in wrong section, sorry about this.
I accidently deleted my Camera from Galaxy Y GT-S5360.
Now i'm trying to recover it, but with no luck.
I tried regular copy/paste to sd card and install - Install failed.
I tried with Root explorer - Install failed.
I tried with ADT install - INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT.
I've no more ideas. And i don't want to reflash new rom, because it's too darn waste of time to reorder everything on my phone.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Greetings!

Well, when I copy the .apk file it does not appear as installed app.
So, when i try to install it says: failed.
Thnak you.
If your just trying to install the .apk that wont work for a system app unless its signed. Even then it will probably show up as a user app. You have to move it to system/app with root explorer, longpress it and change the permissions so they match the other system apps then reboot.

Okay, so I bought a Note 2 that was rooted and unlocked. It's running CleanRom 4.8 with TWRP recovery. Its baseband is I605VRALL4. I have downloaded everything I think I need to return it back to stock. I have Odin3 v3.07, Kies, and I have the pit file downloaded. I downloaded the alternate restore for VRALJRB like droidstyle said to. My problem is this. Odin does not see this file at all. It will see the pit file, but when I open PDA, it can't find the alternate restore file. I downloaded the original file, and Odin sees it just fine. Here's my question. If I try to flash the original file instead of the alternate restore file, will it brick my device or will it flash it just fine but lock the bootloader? I don't mind having a locked bootloader.

Basically META-inf is a folder which contained sign data ,update binary and update script ,which is found only on flashable zip. It can be also be presented in apks.

Sorry im a dumb newb but I still dont understand where is the folder I have checked my .md5 firmware file but it didnt have that folder!
When you flash a custom rom, it comes as a zip file. The folder you are talking about is what makes that zip file flashable. It contains scripts that control what recovery does with the contents of the zip
You admitted to being new to this in your other thread. Can I suggest that whatever you're hoping to achieve by modifying scripts might be a bit advanced for you at this stage
