First of all, I would like to thank to nprussell for working in our first custom rom, and I think many developers will appear to work in this phone..... So, i would like to know: what do we expect for a rom?
I say that because I had the phone i5800 and the most of the custom rom really are a **** (except destiny). Or are inestebable or have a lot of innecesary launchers and apk that we can install whithout using a rom (if we are installing a rom, we have to know how to put a launcher in the phone, isn't?)....And finally the benchmark with rom is almost the same benchmark than the phone with the original firmware.
The most of the developers for that phone are worried for the aesthetics instead performance.
So, asking the question, I would like a rom:
-fix the gps problem (whitout using agps)
-fix the wifi problem (sometimes we have to reboot the modem)
-increase performance of the software (cpu, i/o, 2d)
-rooted
-optimize battery life
-add to the power menu the option of rebooting-recovery-downloading mode
-keep the original apk and the original launcher(if we don't like an apk or launcher, we can remove it)
The launchers or apk, for me, are innecesary. If I like some launcher, I put it.
If I had a smartphone I would have the same expectations
-usb mass storage function without special samsung drivers on PC.

Yup. It is supported on all Xperia 2011 line up (not officially but). With the release of 2.3.4 Update for our phones, Sony had made it possible to connect our phones to a TV or USB device via the cradles that can be bought from the market.
Due to this, software support for USB OTG was given. But it was not intended to be used over a Micro USB to USB adapter. That's why you will need root and the third part app, as pointed out upstairs.

i have using a Samsung Galaxy S3 for one month now... and Cyanogenmod 9 for 2 weeks already.
I know about it since i have already been using Cyanogenmod for a year and a hlf on my previous phone.
My problem is very simple :
when i connect my phone to the computer, i have a screen asking me to choose a conexion type :
- MTP
- PTP
- UMS
the problem is that the last one (USB Mass Storage) is greyed out and i cannot choose it !!??
i have been searching xda forums without success about it...
My microSD is formatted in FAT32 (exFAT does not work with cyanogen)
My question now :
can anybody tell me if it works for him ? (galaxy s3 + CM9RC2 or nightly + FAT32 microSD + windows + UMS)

i think samsung may have done the most stupid mistake and remove kernel support, its not on stock firmware either
Try the SGS3 Easy UMS. Search XDA.

- easy UMS is meant for stock roms and derivates... which is not the case regarding CM.

No USB Mass-Storage is part of ICS, not Samsung phones.
It doesn't work for me either, maybe it's not supported yet?
I am running CM9 too and UMS works every now and then. ES File explorer seems to continuously scan the extsd though so sometimes it takes a couple of tries until it's mounted

well... in fact, according to what i've read, ICS does include UMS... but only for external SD cards...
Anyway, the fact that the option is visible in the usb share screen in cyanogen makes me think that it is/will be a part of CM.
therefore the question is :
- do my phone has a problem ?
- or is it a future option that CM team is currently developping ? (and yet not finished ?)
But Samusung definitely did not want us to get it...
PS : i just installed the latest nightly build of CM9 (android 4.0.4) on a galaxy S2 and i get UMS ! (through an 'android 2.3 style' usb share screen)

At least in CM10 Preview the kernel modules are present but it does not react to the commands.
It works just fine on my Galaxy SII (i777) running cm9. And it mounts both the internal and external SD cards in mass storage mode. However, I have a galaxy tab 10.1 that the option is also grayed out on. I am guessing each device has different drivers associated with UMS which may be why it isn't working on all devices yet. But, it definitely is not a problem in CM9... More the device it sits on.
This ROM has been tested and retested... IF you cannot follow instructions provided DO NOT FLASH,IF your wanting tweaks etc DO NOT FLASH OR ASK FOR THEM THERE ARE OTHER ROMS WITH YOUR WANTS AND DESIRES,Cannot dirty flash this,full wipe MANDITORY,DO NOT USE THIS WITHOUT PERMISSION, IF your wanting to use another kernel (99% stock is included) etc,DONT ASK HERE IF ISSUES ARISE (ASK THE KERNEL DEV) Folks who use this want a clean stable ROM..IF you are a flashaholic,I'd suggest copying pics,music etc to computer format your data partition then flash.

Hey bro, I can´t answer for the US Version, but it should... It works for me bro (International).
This is for international/developer build devices, cannot say it will work for cdma unlocked devices. I know itll work for international and Im on at&t with it and have lte working just fine

I can assure that will be better than the other, the other one is pure stock and this is atleast the logging and debug stuff removed, so you know.

Tried formatting FAT32 and NTFS, tried stock file manager, ES File Manager and OTG Disk Explorer. I ran a diagnose with USB Host Diagnostics and this is the report.
The device I am using is an ADATA UD320 OTG
Just checked it, with app, rom is capable of it...and its a stock kernel not custom so dont think thats the issue. And based on the report...it would appear you need to enable 3rd party apps maybe? It also says device supports it...soo not sure there...no clue what that report is actually saying,very basic

I use OTG USB with this ROM without any issues
both of stock manager & ES manager can manage it without any problem

this update resolved my call logs issue. :good:
But other issues are as follow:
* Try opening video from browser and pop up come which say "Android system has stopped" [it should basically ask to run video on local apps which is installed on the device.]
* Tried running video on Youtube app. same error as above.
* It is not detecting my OTG pendrive.

I tried playing youtube from the default browser and it played normally.. without pop-ups or choosing whatever.
About OTG pendrive.. ill have to find mine( i misplaced it somewhere) and test.
can v install custom theme in this rom as v can install in cynogenmod?
wifi hotspot is also not working. i tried rooting my device with this rom installed but failing...m using "Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v36" for rooting

I tried now and wifi-hotspot doesn't work , but i found my adapter and OTG works.

for root... just install supersu from google play

i some how managed to root my android, but OTG is still not working. I flashed your updates ROM and when i connect my scandisk OTG/USB pendrive nothing happen.
When i check in storage option for External Devices while my pendrive connected, it show grayed out.
What to do? recently i brought this OTG for some bucks and now i don want it to get wasted
help.

Please wait(a little) for the next build, OTG will work 100%
And i forgot to answer.. "theme engine" is not included in(by) omnirom.
EDIT:
If you really cant wait, and need OTG... flash this build.

Hey Pirej,
it did not worked.
I thought my OTG pendrive is having issue, so i tested it on my friends LG android and it was working on that device.
I then installed ES File explorer and in that it shows my USB drive but when tried to access it, it show error "Cannot perform the operation".
1 more thing :: I tried installing "L launcher-Lollypop Launcher" over Launcher3 which is preinstalled, but when i set L launcher as default launcher, it shows systemUI failed error.
Is there a way i can make other launchers as default?
Please enable wifi hotspot in your next update.. plz plz plz

My usb connected with otg cable-adapter.. works just fine, as you can see in the screen shots, if you give me a logcat.. maybe ill see something

Confirmed, wifi hotspot is working without any issue.
as informed you earlier, youtube video is not working, OTG still not working :'(
Also game also get crash, i tried playing Airport city.
Please find the catlog attached.
just share ,for youtube bug just clear data app and it work for me ..like this rom

Can you please re flash the rom again and dont install any app.. or eventually install only Gaaps and SuperSU, and try the OTG ??
Or.. try another OTG adapter/USB on the same Xperia U ??
For youtube... for now.. you can watch videos using dolphin browser.

Let me try wiping all data and fresh install of this ROM and will let you know the result related to OTG.
Also, would like to know if there is any plan of integrating themes in upcoming update if any

There will be update.. but themes no, its not included in Omnirom sources, if they put themes in.... i will too.
My phone UI is Restarting again and again......
iam trying all type of version in lolipop rom but i got the same error from all rom after the installation rom working smooth after around 30 min coming the fu....g error the UI restarting restarting restarting ........ pls help me i really love CM 12

Sorry for such late response.
I tried what you said but the issue remains same. Other OTG pen drives are not getting detected in this ROM in my XU but mine OTG is getting detected on others. Means that there is some issue with the ROM only.
Well, m able to use this ROM for daily purpose, that is what makes me to go with this ROM.

Thanks for trying and reporting, i haven't investigated your logcat completely, ill try to find a solution if i can.
Does you otg work with CM 11/12 or AOSX 4.4 .. ???
@pirej. I just want to say thank you very much your for your best lollipop rom. could you make a shortcut in the power button to make a screenshoot and a shortcut to select 3g and 2g in the control panel. sorry for my bad english
