The IMEI number on my S3 is completely gone, i installed a custom ROM and after it booted up i wasnt getting any signal. i didnt a little reasearch and found out the imei number file has been deleted and is wasnt backed up. does anyone know how to recover the IMEI number? I reverted back to the stock rom and unrooted my device but the IMEI thats underneath the battery doesnt match with the one it shows when i dial *#06#, when i dial that the IMEI is 004999010640000/01 and when it was rooted and on a stock rom it showed "null". if anyone knows how to fix this can you please give a detailed walkthrough on what to do.

did you make any efs backup? if you did then just restore if not... then it will be really difficult... there is few threads about it around somewhere in this forum ( seen it few times ) use search and i wish you good luck
ps. next time install ktool from hellcat and backup efs

Hi. I flashed the i9300 Android Revolution HD 16 rom and while network and IMEI is fine.
Serial number seems to be all zeroes. In fact, my stock rom, doesn't even show the serial number, at least not in the same place.
On a custom rom (ARHD 16 4.1.2), it shows zeroes.
I tried flashing stock 4.1.1, doesn't show S/N.
Flashed stock 4.0.4 ICS, doesn't show S/N.
Is there a combo for S/N like *#06# for IMEI?
Does this thing simply not have a S/N, it is the korean 3G.
How do I fix this? Thanks.
Hi Guys
I updated my S3 to a small critical update, not 4.1.2 and it was a OTA update and now the phone will not make a call, it keeps displaying " not registered to the Network" but it has a data connection i am able to surf the net, I have checked and the phone is not blocked or on the blacklist or reported stolen but I had unlocked the phone via Unlocker.com a few months ago.No UK SIM i.e. (Vodafone Tmobile Three) will make a call through my phone
I have
Wiped Device to factory settings
Flashed a stock rom JB I9300 4.1.2
Flashed Custom Rom "I9300_Omega_v4.2_AOKP_Milestone_1_Jelly_Bean"
Flashed my Operator Rom back on
I have not backed up my EFS Folder and would not know how to
Reset flash counter
Now My IMEI number has changed but on the IMEI SV number, on the back of my phone the IMEI number ends with a ***** /09 but now I have flashed it ends with a /06 .... will that cause a issue, The long SIM number has not changed on the phone.
any suggestions please as I fear that if I send it off to samsung they will not fix as the IMEI SV number has changed and will charge me as they will sate it is out of warranty

I kindly suggest you to ask mods to move this to Q&A section.

Hi
I have an S2 GT-i9100 that someone gave me after they deleted the EFS folder from without taking a backup.
None of these fixes seem to work for me. I have IMEI unknown, IMEI SV unknown, Baseband is unknown, Network is unknown and the service menu displays no options. LOL!
Where the signal bars should be is a circle with a diagonal line through it.
I have rooted it, flashed several stock firmwares with Odin with no change.
I have an EFS backup from an old S2 (same model) that was water damaged beyond repair and thrown away. Is it possible to put that IMEI on this phone? I have tried copying it and going through this process detailed here and it completes fine but doesn't make a sausage of difference, even after reboot.
Any ideas or is it shagged?
I thought if the EFS folder was deleted the IMEI reverted to the Samsung default IMEI? When I dial the #06 all it says is "IMEI" in large letters.
Oh deary deary....
