First flash the European open V20B kdz and make sure you have a signal (you can make calls and etc.).
Next leave your phone on for 30 mins. and then try to unlock
Note: if you have already tried 30 mins and it didn't work, leave it on longer before trying (eg try the unlock after 8 hours)
good luck
Hello !! I already tried to flash a v20b KDZ under section "European Open" , but unfortunately when I go to see the in the phone information appears only " P760v20b " without " EU-XX " acronym . I try to flash several v20b KDZ with the same result...Can we help me to find a valid v20B KDZ ?? Thanks
So you are saying you can't make calls?

I say factory reset, flash the V20B kdz, enable usb debugging and leave the phone on for several hours before trying to unlock. try the kdz found here, i used the first one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43104055&postcount=9
Hello man ! I just tray to flash this KDZ and wait about 23-26 hours but the phone just reboots normally...So what can i do ???
Well the only help I can give you now is to try the P765 V20A India kdz. I'm all out of options, sorry.

I just unlock my P768f boot loader yesterday. Europe Open Link for download V20B is forbidden now, I used V20C and it work fine. Not sure why your phone only reboot to normal mode.
I just follow this thread for P768 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313794. It work at a first try. I'm already on stock JB rom (P768f) for about 2 weeks before unlock bootloader.
Just want to confirm that Europe Open V20C also bootloader unlockable.
Hello artit , then you tried to unlock your bootloader on v20c without reboot the system after flash for 2 weeks ?? So , yesterday i flash v20b KDZ , what do you suggest I wait ? It's possible that my bootloader is corrupt ?

I don't think your bootloader is corrupt. For me, my JB P768f came out about 2 week ago but any P768 is not bootloader unlockable (adb reboot oem-unlock just normal reboot phone). So if P768 user want to unlock their bootloader they must flash P760 V20B rom, as I did.
If you want to try again please flash Europe Open V20C, download link from http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGP760/ANEUWH/V20c_00/V20C_00.kdz
After flash it reboot your phone, enable usb debug mode and wait about an hour (I also not sure what this does but many people said you must wait) then connect your phone in command prompt try "adb reboot oem-unlock" again.
Thank you so much then I'll try to wait a few hours , if doesn t work again is possible to replace my locked BL with your just unlocked ?? So I should have full guarantee of success.

You are not turning your phone off at all after you flash the kdz right? You are not suppose to turn off the phone. Not sure if this will help, but one person reported success by leaving his phone connected to the charger for hours before it finally worked for him.

Thanks for the reply , so you advice to power off the phone and attach it to charger for a few hours and tray again ?

No, first flash the kdz (and don't turn it off at all) and leave it on the charger for a couple of hours

I have already tried this method , but wothout reasons...So what do you suggest i do now ?
Hi guys,
I had been passive all this years in this forum.. many thanks to all contributors in this forum.. which had helped me a lot to root, unlock my bootloader, custom ROM, etc to my various phones, sony xperia, samsung, asus padphone, etc
now I guess it is my turn to contribute.
this L9 P768 of mine to me is the best phone I have so far, cheap, light, powerful enough to my need, battery is not so good though eventhough it is higher capacity compare to other phone in same range but hey.. it is removeable battery !!
last 2-3 months I was happy with STOCK ROM, but 2 days back I want something new, I want custom ROM, especially now someone have released custom Android 4.3
without any research, I applied CUSTOM ROM, and stuck in security error, but after reading I realized this phone is much more powerful than I thought..
I think this phone is UNBRICKABLE
cut story short.. i was able to bring back my phone alive using fastboot mode and now running stock europe open V20C (thank you for the mirror contributor.. and f*ck you LG, I kept getting permission denied and half finished download)
cut story short again... I followed various threads, and stuck in command "adb reboot oem-unlock" my phone was rebooted without getting into bootloader unlock confimation / warning screen
I was using windows xp (with all drivers installed properly, fastboot, adb, etc)
I was frustated like some few of you here that had been trying to unlock bootloader (some even tried for months..)
finally few minutes back, I got my breakthrough, I tried using my "working" laptop that has linux installed and issue command
adb reboot oem-unlock
and phone was rebooted and this time I get the confirmation / warning bootloader unlock screen !
hurray !
so to those who stuck., maybe you should try adb for linux.. here is the version that I have
[[email protected] ~]$ adb version
Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.31
hidden menu is showing my bootloader unlock
Despite all efforts I can't unlock bootloader on my p760. After sending adb reboot oem-unlock command the phone reboots normally. I tried almost all the ideas I've found on xda - flashed different versions of v20b, v20c, (europe open and country-specific) even tried v20a india for p765 - no luck, drivers are installed ok, i can enter fastboot mode and send commands (reflashed JB xloader an uboot), i rooted the phone and tried to unlock bootloader via terminal emulator - still simple reboot. As described on the threads I waited 30 mins, 1 hr, even 8 hrs before sending adb reboot oem-unlock - no effect
I'm really out of ideas :crying: Maybe my bootloader is permanently locked? Is there a way to find it out?
Since it's possible to enter fastboot is there any other way to unlock the phone or install the custom rom with locked bl?

Try flashing ics kdz, do a factory reset, flash jb europe open see if you can unlock it
I downgraded to v10a ics -> factory reset -> hard reset (to be sure -> flashed v20b europe open .... still oem-unlock results in regular reboot...
I have succeeded after a factory reset and sleeping for one night. You may try to flash EU open v20c and wait with data connected.
I tried that already ... the phone sleeped overnight on v20b and v20c and after i tried to send oem-unlock... nothing happened.
I don't know if it's proper behaviour- after sending adb reboot oem-unlock in the device manager appears TI Board/OMAP4430 only for 1 second and phone reboots normally (just like connecting the phone to usb without battery but TI Board apears only once)
After flashing 10a and before hard reset should I also flash ICS xloader and uboot or do they come with the 10g?
I'm with same problem, but my model is p768. Im still trying to find a solution to unlock bootloader/CWM/Root
I have P769. The same thing, "adb reboot oem-unlock" just reboot the phone, without anything else.
Edit: a few more tries and now I'm unlocked.

The x-loader is not found in the kdz, but the u-boot is.
Try flashing the u boot for ice in fastboot, then flash the 20b kdz.
If this didn't work, reflash the 20b kdz, but when it starts to boot up, turn it off and flash the u-boot from 20b in fastboot and try.
maybe the u-boot is not getting over written. It's easy for a p769 model owner to tell if they are on the 20b u-boot (inverted lg logo), but not for the other models.

You do have the inverted lg logo at boot, right?
You might want to try what I did.
When I was flashing the 20b kdz, I swapped the 11th bin (to root) and the p760.fls (radio file).
I extracted the 20d kdz and renamed the p769.fls to p760.fls
I didn't get root (something went wrong) but I had a network signal and could make calls.
I did make/received a couple of calls while on the 20b.
I think I waited like 4 to 5 hours before trying to unlock.

I have the same problem , what can I do? I waited 30 minutes and also I tried with different versions (spain open)
Up,
Same problem there on my P760
Tried some differents kdz, 20B from my default carrier (SFR), 20B europe open & 20H Europe Open,
With this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189646, This one too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190326
Actually Rooted & With Artas' recovery 1.5
For me the first few times I try "adb reboot oem-unlock" the phone just reboot. I don't know what to do at first. Worse I have P769 and with the P760 rom on it, the phone is not usable. Then I just leave the phone there and do my own things for a few hours. When I come back, I thought I should try one more time before giving up, it all works out. Maybe I didn't wait long enough with my previous attempt. Anyway I'm done and looking back it was difficult (with my P769 this is true).

Do you think it makes a difference if I root and flash the new radio with cwm, compared to your way where you just replace radio the file?
Also is the radio file exactly named p769.fls and is it in the folder where we replace the 11th bin? Thank you
Same Issue but solved
maybe the 30 minute time is just a rough estimate. I flashed my p765 with p760 v20h and did a hard-reset(because of "com.android.phone stop" issue) and then waited for about 20 minutes with SIM and wifi on, until I turn on the mobile network switch. Then after exactlly 30 minutes I tried but failed. I googled and found this thread. After that I made a second try and worked.
So maybe just remember: 1.insert SIM 2.turn both wifi and mobile network on (not sure which matters) 3.Be patient
it may be that those who are succeeding have a different firmware / ROM version, and / or, their ROM is from a different carrier. i have CWM installed, i'm rooted, and i still cant get into the bootloader to get fastboot to unlock it, nor does this adb oem-unlock method work. fwiw, i'm using v20d TMO USA. i'll post back if i ever figure out how to get the damned fastboot to work...

We have been looking into this a lot. I recommend do try to unlock without know your stuff, you may permanently lock your device.
How about we meet up Tuesday, I'll show you how it's all done. Name the place, I'm not afraid to drive to the Northside, lol.

Hello I am trying to install CWM and then Cyanogenmod on my phone. But I cant boot into the fastboot menu.
Thats what i have tried:
I enabled USB-Debugging
I tried the following in the terminal:
> adb devices
Output:
List of devices attached
5E92000600000001015D7E8403019012 device
> adb reboot-bootloader
> adb reboot bootloader
> abd reboot oem-unlock
My Phone is booting after every of this commands normally... but this is not what I want. I want to boot into fastboot mode to install CWM and then CM 10.1.3
My System details are:
Phone: LG Optimus L9 P760
Android: 4.1.2
Baseband-version L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1230.00
Kernel version: 3.0.31
Build-Number: JZO54K
Software Version: P76020h-EUR-XX
Did you wait 30 minutes? Which procedure did you follow? A link please.

Sorry I can't post links as newbie
But I think I forget waiting for 30 minutes.. I tried at first under Android 4.0 ( Ice cream sandwich) to unlock the bootloader but this does not work. So I updated it on Android 4.1.2 (Jellybean) and maybe I forget waiting. Don't know.. I will try it today again when I have time and edit my post later.
EDIT: Moreover I read that unlocking the bootloader under ice cream sandwich does not work. The Phone must be updated to Jellybean is that right?

I would like to know if there is an alternative procedure , I think that during the KDZ flash there may be a problem with partitions. Is there any way to flash .KDZ files otherwiese ?? I solved the problem now.. be sure that your device is up to date ( I mean updated to Android 4.1.2 and that your device is more as one hour up) When you are following this steps you can unlock the bootloader
I try this 20 times , without reasons...I think is an hardware release problem. If you open your back cover , you will see Wifi and GPS modules . Check your number release. My numer is 1201 and is unlockable device , a lot of people with different numbers on it ( lower like 0800 , 1001 , ecc, ) are able to unlock the bootloader...Please check your numbers...I suppose the higher value isn't unlockable and the lower is unlockable.
Hello,
I've been looking at these forums a lot for the past several months, reading the various guides(lots of conflicting and unclear info on them),and some are reporting successes and others failures on the same ones. So, I'd like to ask you guys what I should do. Here's my phone info I got from the hidden menu:
P76920h,
4.1.2 Android,
3.0.31 Kernel Version,
Factory Version of Aug 14 2013
AP bootloader version of LK May-2012
T-Mobile brand phone
Well, thanks, and happy to post more info if needed.
Edit: Thought it might be important to note that I am rooted and I have Artas recovery installed(at least I download the app and I ran it and recovery seemed to be non stock)

Thanks, but our phones are drastically different, so I'd like to hear some other feedback, because if I remember correctly, your bootloader is different.
I have this phone too. Unlock bootloader of this phone is the same as other variants, except that you must use JB rom of P760 to unlock, so it's hard to do steps because your screen will be mirrored and touchscreen goes crazy.
- First flash v20b kdz of P760
- Then install fastboot driver, plug your phone, type oem-unlock command
- After that bootloader will be unlocked.
- Finally, fix touchscreen
PM me if you have question

So I installed a custom rom on my phone after unlocking BL and all that a while ago.
I recently got the unlock code from my service provider and was trying to sim unlock the L9. I get an error saying I have an invalid code (which it isn't). A quick google told me that custom roms sometimes won't let you use unlock codes.
I tried using the guide from @cmahendra to reset back to the original kdz/ROM for the phone but it stops at 15% and says phone not connected (even through all the drivers install/are installed correctly).
Does anyone know best way to unlock the phone with the unlock pin provided? Or at least how to reset it back to normal?
As I know custom ROMs won't let you type in the unlock code, only the stock ones. I had the same situation with my Optimus 2x way back.
Download and run b2cappsetup.exe with admin rights, connect your phone in d/l mode, and it should automatically download and flash the latest available stock rom. If you're stuck search for b2cappsetup in the forum as there are many threads about it. good luck.
