What themes does Aokp support natively? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am a guy that doesn't like to add additional launchers on my phone, so I'm curious what themes are supported "natively" and whether or not I can install icon packs without additional apps as well.
Thank you!

[Q] How to create a theme that works on all Android devices?

I am looking to create a theme for a particular show that many of the fans have been asking for. I have used many ROMs in the past but I've always liked CM better than all the others (Been with them since V1). I know not everyone uses CM. So my question is how do I create a theme that is universal? Universal as in can be used on all Android devices, whether it's stock, rooted, or has a custom ROM installed. Thank you!
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Please?
You can only theme certain aspects for every rom, including unrooted users. You'd have to make a zip with icons, dock, and wallpaper and let the users theme it themselves. Or you could make a theme for a launcher, like ADW. You can't change the systemui or framework that way. Best bet would be to make a theme for CM7, that's the best way to reach the largest number of people. You can make the icons and such available for others, and allow someone to port it to their rom if wanted.
You're not going to reach everyone since roms and phones vary so widely.

Can I use this kind of theme with ADW?
Does anyone know if EX Launcher themes are compatible with ADW launchers?

[Q] Stock ICS with Samsung functionalities ?

Hey,
I was wondering if it was possible to install stock ICS on the Galaxy S 3, while keeping new useful Samsung's functionalities (S-Beam, All Share Play, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Smart Alert, Tap to Top, Popup Play, S-Voice, …).
Actually, I would like to feel I'm on ICS on my GS3, and not on a Gingerbread-styled TouchWiz. I know I could install a third party launcher, but it customizes only the launcher, and not the status bar or the Settings for example.
Thanks !
CM-Zoom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698273 is probably the closest ROM out there atm, its Samsung ROM with a bunch of Cyanogen stuff included.
I dont know of any AOSP-based ROMs that can run the Samsung app suite yet.

Most Samsung features depend on the TW framework. So few things will probably never work on AOSP based roms. However, for a lot of the features you named, there are alternatives. For instance, pop up play isn't a Samsung specific feature. But overall, what you're asking for will not work. Maybe in time, but I wouldn't get your hopes up...
Mmmh...
Unfortunately, I am not so surprised by your answers
And what about theming ? Is it possible to create a theme like this one and install it on the original Samsung ROM ?

Why don't you use that theme?

It's written "The Theme is just for deodexed Rom's and is tested on Omega V3-V5!". Is the stock Samsung ROM deodexed ? Even if I am a developer, I dont know much about Android development
If it turns out to be deodexed, I could adapt his project to my needs (as said before, I don't know too much but it's a good way to learn !)
Oh, and forgot something in my initial post :
What bothers me in TouchWiz is replaced apps like Calendar and Contacts. This cannot be solved by theming. Is it possible to install these separately ?
I know I am a little picky and want the best of the two worlds, but isn't that the strength of Android ?

You can install any replacement app you want. Some of them might rely on a certain framework though (e.g. Cyanogenmod) and might not work. But any replacement app from the Play Store should be fine.

Of course, but what about stock ICS applications I am used to use ? Isn't it possible to "extract" them from original ICS ?
ICS (afaik) requires vendors to include the original framework and theming so that apps don't break on heavily modified phones.
The goo.im stock apps should work, but create a nandroid backup before attempting to flash it through CWM
http://goo.im/gapps
You most likely want the following:
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
Ok. So ICSwiz + goo.im apps should do the trick.
I won't try it right now due to a busy schedule, but maybe in one week or so.
I will post it there my results, in case anyone is interested.
Thanks for your replies

Download the CM9 Rom and replace the desired apps in /system/app.
Make sure you remove the samsung counterpart, e.g. if you want the original calendar, remove SecCalendar (or something) and calendarprovider, add original calendar and calendarprovider.
Don't be stupid and only replace what you really want!
THIS WILL NOT WORK FOR PHONE, CONTACTS AND DOWNLOAD!
There are many threads where they offer a black google apps pack, search for yourself if interested.

I just use wanam and xposed module...With wanam you can build practically any theme you want and is extremely easy to use. I always include it in my rom builds...I have one out for the i9205 and a v2 posting tomorrow in the dev forum for the mega. or just download xposed module from xda and wanam from the play store. Has tons of features with themes just being one of the many. As a dev wanam has been by far the easiest solution as it allows the user to make their own theme vs settling for whatever the rom creator wanted. so between wanam exposed and the already mentioned nova or apex launchers there is a nearly unlimited amount of mods to create any theme you want. below is a pic of a theme I built literally in 5 mins on a test build of my upcoming rom update...5 mins and 2 soft reboots...

if your'e not planning on rooting and installing custom roms, then you can use a third party launcher from the play store. and you can download icon packs and themes for the launcher. But if you are rooted and not planning about custom roms, you can install xposed framework.what it does is change some stuff for you..the best module for stock sammy roms is wanam xposed bacause you can able to change the battery icons and notification background etc.

[Q] Is there any way i can substitute systemui and framework on Stock JB?

Well, hi! After some months in which i've done a lot of things to my stock rom (or testing other custom roms without enough satisfaction), i've decided to build my own, using the official samsung base. The thing is, i wanted it as something special and personal for me and my friend, we don't pretend to distribute it we just want it to be fast, reliable, debloat a bit, extend with xposed and mainly, to THEME it if possible.
We like stock because of all the samsung features but we miss the possibility to switch between themes as in CM and MIUI, so i wanted to know...
There is some modded systemui, framework-res, phone, settings, etc i can use to replace the stock ones? If so, would those new apk be able to show the interface themed elements CORRECT when i try to apply a theme using Xtheme Engine?
I've already tried Xtheme engine in our actual state and it just changes some icons in the app drawer and some icons in the notification bar..., the appearence of the expanded notification panel, Settings and background elements visible for example...in Root Explorer..., remain the same, but want the system apps to be able to accept xtheme engine, because that would be really handy instead of modding those apks each time we want a new look
And by the way, ehm, i also wanted to know...where is "lockscreen" located? it is part of systemui?
Well, thanks a lot in advance!:fingers-crossed:

List of launchers compatible with iconpacks

Hi,
I'm developper on URLauncher (an android launcher) and we've implemented the feature to be compatible with all iconPacks (it will be available soon).
We've got already have more than a million installs (Urlauncher + URMoodLauncher).
I would like to know if there is a list of launchers compatible with icon packs somewhere so we can put our name on it ?
Thanks.
