zoostorm sl8 mini rooting JB 4.1.1 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Couldn't get either of the above methods to work.
I need to root my one tablet so I can get the rom and put it on my other tablet (which is stuck on the android screen). Does anyone know another solution please? Can't find any official rom as zoostorm claim the one at http://zoostormsl8.blogspot.co.uk/2013_01_01_archive.html is not correct - This is the one I tried to flash to my tablet, as the model numbers are the same, and caused the issue. Your help is appreciated.

Firmware is here http://downloads.zoostorm.com/drivers/android/SL8MINI2/

After updating your sl8mini2 3310-9509 with the link above use download.cnet.com/Kingo-Android-Root/3000-2094_4-75996768.html to root. Worked like a charm

[Q] Bricked Alcatel One Touch 4030X

Hi there! I bricked my alcatel by deleting a folder which apparently was vital for android. Is there any way to unbrick it without paying a visit to alcatel's service? I need PWM or TWRP to flash it with the stock rom, right? Unfortunately I hadn't installed either, so is there any other way to flash the stock rom now?

No, the OTUS trick didn't work for me. The only way to fix this is by having the stock ROM which is the 4030X. If anyone has it or has Alcatel One touch S'Pop with 4030X(not A,D,E,Y only X) firmware, please pm me.

What do you mean? It was android 4.1 for Alcatel One Touch S'Pop. And the code of the ROM is 4030X
4030A is for America
4030D & 4030E is for the dual sim variant of S'Pop (named Glory 2) for Europe and Asia correspondingly
4030Y is the NFC version.
I guess 4030X is Europe and single sim
At this moment I have used 4030E to unbrick it but I have locked networks, no Greek, 2 sim operating system and an S'Pop which says Glory 2 on boot up. It's not very possible I get a warranty-covered fix in this situation.
I can use the rom from any stock 4030X, I'm just looking for a 4030X owner with a non-bricked device to contact me.

Now a days handset manufactures customise ROM for different markets they see (sim free) OR the sales channel through service providers (network sales) . they also tweak the ROM loader points accordingly. So the only option for you is to find out where the original ROM backup and try and load it.
Any luck finding the stock ROM for the 4030X model?

You are not late at all. I haven't found anything yet, so I'd be awfully thankful to you if you'd help me.
1)Does your language menu include greek?
2)Does your phone say "onetouch s'pop" when it's starting?(or it says "onetouch Glory2"?)
3)Does your firmware version in settings say 4030X?(or it says 4030E/4030D/4030A?)

I've sent you a couple private messages, have you seen 'em? I'm asking because I got no reply yet...
Not much of an android expert, but I recently(as in 5 hours ago) bricked my one touch 4033a and I was pretty frantic. But, you should be able to reset the phone through holding down volume then power. Unless that is not possible as well. I'm not sure if the rom from my provider will be able to help you. PM me if that's possible, and instruct me how to do that.

I finally took it to the service center and had it fixed. They charged nothing. They didn't even ask anything. This is your best chance if you'd ask me. Yet when I get back home cause I'm away for a couple days, I could possibly send you my backup to try and upload it to your phone, but I have to warn you that this is highly probable to complicate things even more. Think it over and let me know.
I may just do that, phone only a few months old, not been touched rooting wise, sure it may be an app that caused the prob, will have to see if I can find the receipt for it, was only bought as a cheap replacement till I can get a better phone. Don't have much luck with phones, already got two bricked Moto Defy's, Don't know if half my problem is running win7 as a virtual machine on a mac

Don't even think about it. Since you haven't even routed the phone, service center is way your best solution. Do find that receipt!!

Hi there Junior and everybody
I am EXACTLY in the same situation. I was messing with the vold.fstab in order to switch external memory card as internal, and... BRICK!
Blank screen after "Alcatel'SPop" welcome logo. I tryed PWR+VOLUP and then "wipe data/factory reset" (without knowing what that really meant, i have to say and nothnig happened, i am still in stuck in the blank screen.
If i could get a rom image, i guess i could copy it into the external memory card and "apply update form phone memory".. Isn't it?
If so, now the issue is to find the proper rom: Alcatel onetouch S pop (4030X)
Any hint, help, advise?
thank you

BUMP. Anybody here please help?
Freaktab has a dev that's been working on the amlogic nextbook and has a slightly modded stock dump in zip format that might work. Depending on the build date of your tab wifi might not work properly.
(was on my phone earlier... a little hard to find and post links from there)
I can't remember if directly linking another forum from here is acceptable or not... so for now this is the best I can offer.
This is a link to a forum Shaunmt starting here at xda for the 8P12 tablet from Nextbook for root and rom, if you do a little digging around at Freaktab from the link he provided you should find the direct link to the root and rom page for the 7P12 tablet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415301
Good Luck.

[Q] E-ceros revolution clone (RK3188) need working firmware

Good day!
I wounder if anybody can help me here...
Few weeks ago I got a 9.7 inch tablet what is looks like E-ceros revolution tablet but not real one... (China copy without any description on the back lid).
It was very laggy so I decided to write tweaked rooted firmware for E-ceros revolution tablet. All specs where the same:
RK3188 CPU 1,6GHZ; Mali 400 GPU; 9.7 inch... All details(book photos and other) attached...
After I flashed the firmware("Ceros Revolution CT9716 Android 4.4.2 KitKat custom root firmware" or after failure the Q9white_update_FT5406_20130806.img) using RKAndoidtool 1.7. I figured out that forgot to make the backup of entire device, when tablet rebooted I see black screen(with back light) and computer show as usb device connected... But no image on screen...
Complete disaster it is a new tablet, never used and bricked...
I found that after firmware flash using adb shell I get root mode but not for long(for about 2 min., later tablet getting disconnected by it self) and after reboot no more root mode... Need reflash again...
In root mode I succeeded to get some logs(adb dmesg) and data about the tablet. (see .txt file attached)
Can anyone help me in such situation? I can donate some money if succeeded...
P.S: To make sure that it is rk3188 device I opened tablet and checked the chip on board...

Dull ! I forgot about this post I made ... Sorry
My tablet is a Memup brand:
http://www.cdiscount.com/informatiq...9716-quad-core/f-10798010212-spelite9716.html
I flashed a "OMA" ROM on it (4.4.2 I think), and I have the original rom at home and I guess I can (slowly!) upload it on a server.
Is it the same as yours ? - no money needed, lol . But if I can help you recover this tablet it would be great.
Maybe you could try this ROM, the one I flashed:
https://www.dealabs.com/url/?e=AGfyxEyWcavcqyVJeRhZp7d5F8Z0KrLcgoS1mbga6vPZ1aLCP38R53nhHk/SlqhM
A procedure is included in English, in this file. I followed those and it's working.
I think that your tablet isn't bricked, as it's detected by your computer.
Some steps requires bootloader mode : https://download.chinavasion.com/download/Others/ceros_rev_firmware_install_9470.pdf

i havent got the file anymore - i originally got it from the settings in the tablet,
settings - about tablets - system updates
it just downloaded the file via browser to downloads folder as i recall, and you copy it out before it detects the update file is there.
it downloads from ftp://mypolaroidtablet.com but i cant access that from my laptop without a username and password
i dont recall it asking when accessing from the tablet, which i cant do as its been dropped a couple of times and now the screen is cracked and the wifi doesnt work

Hey there, I just got one of these p791 Polaroid tablets for Christmas this year.
When I try to do the usual update method (Settings > About tablet > System update) it locks up and I have to force it to stop. So no auto-updates for me.
Currently stuck on KK 4.4.2
Is there anyone or anyway to get this ROM so I can manually install it, or anyone who's had this problem and fixed it so I can just update my tablet.

Hopefully you already got it sorted.. However, if not then you may want to know the tools usually used to fix this device are:
RKBatchTool,
AndroidTool,
Or PhoenixSuit (although I've not managed to get this one to work)
You can do a quick Google search on any of the tools mentioned above as well as find information on the installation process including the flashing of the P791 device.
I wasn't able to get mine turned on again but you may be able to. (Years ago I used these tools and got it working again, but can't seem to do it this time, maybe mines just had it. I think these are the only options for us though and I remember the annoying task of trying to figure it out as the specific device you're talking about, the one from Asda isn't hardly mentioned nor is it even supported by manufactures anymore so now I have an account on here I thought I'd just post this reply ?

Hi,
Just FYI the model number he's asking to be rooted is a textbook NX 16A11264. The 11 inch 2 and1 android tablet 6.0.1. Your inspiration for him to follow in your link was for a (52060) which is a different model number. Just FYI. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks bigken1777
anyone have stock boot.img and stock system.img? its in a boot loop, soft bricked. can still access TWRP and BIOS but so far nothing seems to work.
