Instead of spending time here, head over to the forum specific for your phone model & carrier.
In general, most samsung phones (including your model) can go back to the stock state using odin.
Do you know how to do this?

You do not need 10 questions to read any existing threads, or (if needed) ask a question in a Q&A forum. Questions do not belong in Development forums which is why the 10 post rule is in place.

I have the US Cellular Varient of the GS3 (4GLTE+2GBram)
Would this be considered the i9305? under settings model number it says"SCH-530U" blah blah.
Anyone know?
This is the international forum. Keyword international, you have a us cellular variant sgs3 so no its not an I9305. Instead of making the most useless thread why wouldn't you just do a google search??

It seems that you don't know anything about this stuff, but here's a tip: You have the USA version, ask these questions in their forum.
Anyway, what carrier do you have?
Okay guys, no reason to be rude, it was simple question that only requested a simple answer.

Yes but when you get 40 posts like yours a day some get annoyed as USA users don't read the stickies i guess .

Well i do apologize for the new topic then i was just hoping for a direct answer.

Have you listened yourself????
You wrote: I f....k all the rules here if I can have direct answer.
As many other peoples here, I can just be abused by anotjer example of typical US-like self-ignorance and discrimination of all others, following the rules in patience.
So please put your lasso aside, stop your horse and start doing that what you're expecting from others.

Lol at USA bashing ;p
As you can probably see from people's signatures, your model is what your device is.
And we should make the stickies stand out more.. it looks like a normal post to me..

I recently purchased the galaxy s3 and am quite happy with it, put adw launcher pro made a few tweaks got the jellybean update and am satisfied with everything it does.
My question is what is the need for flashing new Roms or rooting the device? What is the purpose and benefits?
I'm new to all of this and would love some briefing!

This forum is for International Galaxy S3 I9300, not I535 Verizon. Anything you do from these forums can brick your device. Good luck and welcome aboard!
I appreciate the reply, I tried re posting this post on that thread but it said the forum is closed. Do not many have the samsung gs3 for Verizon?

What's up guys, i just switched from an e4gt on sprint to a Note 2 on Verizon, and i got to looking, I'm on software Verizon 4.1.1 and when I go to software update my only option is to install deferred sw ? I plan on rooting this thing eventually so i didn't want to install it if it would create problems trying to root it later on down the road. Thanks in advance

That's to go to the L4 update which re-locks the bootloader. You can unlock both, but I'd recommend just rooting and unlocking it now because it'd be easier.
By the way, I came up from the E4GT as well Welcome brother!
Might want to read the very 1st post in this section... it is pinned.

Well I took the update and unlocking and rooting took like 5 minutes or maybe less.
But I will say there were a LOT of people that had a LOT of problems unlocking and rooting.

I rooted and unlocked after the update. Whe and if you have rooted, i would check out the Paranoid Android 3.0 ROM.

My s3 doesn't keep settings after a restart and basically has never been 100% at it. Eg. Ring tones will revert to default, default application settings get forgotten. Phone has been rooted before but actually isn't right now.
Running 4.1.2
I have done a factory data reset.
Any thoughts?

Really? The s3 q&a and troubleshooting forum is the wrong forum?
Since the phone has been rooted im hesitant to send it back. Its actually also had the screen replaced.
Still hopeful someone has better advice than tell me im posting in the wrong forum. This place used to be friendlier than this im sure.
Just saw the link for the lte specific forum. Will repost there.

Not if you have I9300 yes its wrong if you have I9305 really .
Btw, what forum would be a better place for me troubleshooting question?
The I9305 forum Q&A logically .
You had two bits of advice ignore them both or not .

Thanks for the advice. Already took one of them... other one; not sure how my warranty would hold up with being rooted and a screen replaced... sad face.
Considering a cyanogen or perhaps liquidsmooth rom that I've just seen a bit about.
My concern is that even a new rom doesn't wipe or refresh all the parts where things like default settings might be kept during a restart. So hoping some advice comes through in that regard perhaps.. but not in this forum.

Hi guys,
Firstly, let me offer my sincere thanks for the info. I have finally had the balls to root my S3 LTE to Liquid Smooth and it's amazing!
The ONLY thing that is slightly different, is that the main speaker is a lot quieter than the original OS. I've tried a few sound hacks but none seem to work on 4.2.2. Is there an easy and safe hack for this version of Liquid (2.9)?
Thanks.

Firstly, you should search and not create a thread and post like this for these questions.
I think you should try this thread instead.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2457945
This is a non-risky method of gaining Samsung Stock Like Sound on any AOSP based Custom Roms like CM, PA , LiquidSmooth etc.
Give it a try and post the feedback on that thread.
Repeat viper4android has no competition worth speaking of though a bit complicated .
