I may have royally screwed up my phone trying to root it. I'm stuck on a screen that says "Downlaoding... Do Not Turn Off Target". It is no longer responding to the BackAtchaVerizon-CASUAL-Revision465b program. Can anyone help?

No it didn't because it never finished. There is a newer casual thread called "no you verizon." Download the newer casual from that thread and try it again

Startup Screen Flashing Not Booting
Ok, I have a new problem now. My note 2 is flashing on and off the boot up screen Samsung Note 2. Does this mean that I didn't root the phone properly?

Use this guide to odin to stock. In section 1b use the vramc3 file and the pit file.

You did some **** that you shouldn't have done without reading first. If you had done any damn research you would know why the i9100 screen pops up. And it isn't because your phone thinks its an i9100.

No one can help you unless you provide enough useful information about what you have done. You should have read and learned enough to avoid making a mistake in the first place, but if you will tell us what you have done, maybe you'll get some help. What exactly did you flash with Odin? Provide a link to it? You did not get the warning on boot from flashing stock. What method did you use to try to enter download mode? To try to enter Recovery?

Not familiar with that particular file, but we have seen a multitude of problems from flashing firmware provided by galaxys2rootdotcom. Please use an archive program to open the tar and list the contents back here. (I don't want to download 387MB just to look at it.)

That's not a galaxys2root produced file. That is the straight stock Kies file which they downloaded from SamFirmware or Samsung Updates. That didn't cause the problem.
You say you can now not enter either download mode or recovery?
Don't do a wipe data with that installed if you do get into recovery!

I'm not sure why your phone is having problems. You should be able to just flash stock and start over. If it were my phone, I would flash UCKH7 stock plus root, install a Gingerbread custom kernel, and then pick a firmware from the development forum. If you choose to follow that path, be sure to open the Oden window first before putting your phone into download mode. If you need additional information, there is plenty of help in the guides and threads linked in my signature.

Did you flash a custom kernel and then flash a new rom?
Good evening,
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I rooted and unlocked my phone and then tried installing a wrong CM10. Then I installed the stock ROM again so that it would at least work. That succeeded.
However, a popup came offering a OTA update and I hit yes without thinking. It rebooted and stayed at boot loop.
Now when I try using ODIN to reflash the stock ROM it does so, reboots, and stays at the boot screen where the LTE and moving stuff shows up after the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in white text screen. Please, I need this fixed urgently as that's my work phone.
I've tried flashing the rooted stock rom and that doesn't work either. When I try to re-root/unlock it says "Firmware problem please connect to Klies" or something along those lines. I can't boot into recovery mode either. The android shows up and a bar and then it reboots when it's close to finishing the boot into recovery.

I'm confused, where is your phone now. Boot loop, the firmware upgrade problem or other?

Really basic question here, how long have you let it sit on the boot animation screen? Sometimes it takes a very long time for first boot, especially if davlik was wiped.

I can't get into recovery under either. When I try to get into recovery under the boot unlock/root ROM I get the firmware problem.

Your phone had to boot up to unlock so again are you boot looping now? I'm thinking you need to use the alternate restore file. It sounds like your boot loader is still locked. If that's the case that's the only image that will actually flash in Odin.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
here is your problem:
1) NEVER ACCEPT OTA'S
2) You didnt research before flashing
3) Since you accepted the ota, the bootloader from the original vraljb odin file is black listed. meaning you cant ever use that file again.
4) To fix your problem follow section 1b of my guide, make sure to use the alternate restore link as it does not contain a bootloader in the file. it will revert you back to vraljb firmwqre while maintaining the L4 bootloader.

I was on the latest nightly of cyanogen mod and I wanted to flash back to stock using the toolkit/odin.
I downloaded the .tar.md5 file and followed the instructions, but when it reset at the end something must have went wrong because now it just keeps flashing Samsung Galaxy Note 2 screen over and over.
Any tips on how to fix it?
I should add that I can boot into download mode, but not recovery

Don't use that toolkit. There is a file associated with it that has prerelease software and once is on your phone, there is nothing you can do to root or unlock. Only follow droidstyle's guide.

Basically I just need to be able to turn my phone on again and I'll be able to do it no problem.
I forgot to add the .pit
Any idea how to get my phone functioning enough to try again?
Edit: on Odin everything seemed to check out. It said pass at the top, but now I am stuck in bootloop.
It does the Samsung thing, then the 4G LTE screen and keeps repeating.
Any ideas?
Yes I wiped the phone before flashing
Seems as if the problem has been solved. Thank you

Wow. You need to read a LOT more before you start trying anything. At this point, all you are going to do it screw things up and once that happens I guarantee you are going to go back to Verizon and say "I don't know what happened."
Stop randomly attempting things. Your first step is figure out why casual failed and fix it.

So I tried to root my Note 2 today. I had rooted it once before using Casual this past summer, but due to circumstances i had to get a new one.The replacement came in today, and i tried to root it with the same methods. I believe my mistake was using Casual while i had 4.3 installed on my device. I'm not TERRIBLY android savvy, but i knew enough to know that if i ****ed up i should stop while i'm ahead and ask you guys.
tl;dr
Long story short, while using Casual to root my Note 2 with 4.3 on it, i got this message
ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence!ERROR: recovery upload failed!ERROR: Failed to send end session packet!waiting for device
waited for a good 30 minutes, nothing was changing, turned off phone and now it's bricked, looping at the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" Splash screen.
I believe i have to use Odin for something but i could really use some help and reassurance before i continue.
Needless to say i will be jamming f5 on my thread until everything is resolved!
Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: Since i posted this, i tried to flash a stock firmware on Odin (4.1.2 i believe) and it failed halfway through the procedure. with nothing more to be done, i reset my phone, and where before it was just bootlooping, it now shows me an entirely different screen reading "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Since then i have tried a different firmware file, still 4.1.2, Odin get's to the very end of the procedure, and crashes at what i assume is the reboot portion. Desperately need assistance!
You can't flash anything other than 4.3 if you have the 4.3 bootloader.

I will try to flash a 4.3 firmware right now. Will i need some sort of .pit file or something to fix the initial bootloop? Or is that problem just totally blown out of the water at this point?

I found myself in the same situation. Where might I find the PIT file? I can't reboot the phone to get the PIT file because it's soft bricked like mzaric's phone was. I'm using Mac OS X so I'm having to use JOdin3 to flash the stock 4.3 firmware back, but without the PIT file I can't continue and I've searched endlessly to find the PIT file. Also a somewhat related question, I heard JOdin isn't good for flashing big files, but I have no alternative, is the stock firmware which is 1.1gb too big to flash?
EDIT: I sadly didn't search hard enough thank you droidstyle for the guide. But my next question is I'm unsure of what version the phone is because when I originally tried to do the CASUAL unlock I believe it was on 4.1.2, but I think it softbricked to begin with because it was 4.3. Should I just try doing the 4.1.2 and if it doesn't take, retry with the 4.3?
If you flashed n7100 firmware you are screwed. If not just Odin back to stock. You were on 4.1.2 if you were unlocked using casual. Don't go to 4.3
