I barely use my ultra apart from surfing the net, I've got a few games installed and now I have used up most of my internal storage!
How can I put these apps and games onto my sd card?
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk 2
root it then use the program folder mount from playstore and your done.
Is that a common solution? Is it stable etc?
Could you post a link?

Yes it's a common solution for all phones which use only the internal storage for app + app data. There's Folder Mount and GL2SD that work great with Android 4.2.2+ but you have to pay if you want to use them without restrictions.
Folder Mount: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&hl=en
GL2SD: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slf.ListglApp&hl=en
However, remounting the system partition has a bug with Sony's 4.2.2 firmwares and there's a tool to fix it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317432
Try it if your phone reboots while trying to mount folders with Folder Mount or GL2SD.

I have been trying to find a way to have everything save on my sd card (the external).
For example, if i download a picture or ringtone from Zedge, it defaults to the internal storage (sdcard).
I want it to download in the external sd card (sdcard2).
Ive read the threads about swapping them but i would really prefer NOT to do it that way.
Anybody out there have a better solution?
HELP!!!!!

I know that you can swap mount points...making your external card the default storage. I don't think there's any other way.
Is there a way to do this without root access, I just want my pinned music in the play music app to download to my sd card instead of internal storage.

I use Gtunes & it lets me choose where I want to download my music to. You might check in the settings & see if it'll let you change the location.
Have you tried settings/storage/storage settings/update all and select sdcard storage?

I know that you can swap mount points but then it just gets too confusing. Especially in TWRP recovery.
I wanted to find a way to do this WITHOUT the swap mount points method.
I think it has something to do with the permissions. But when I try to edit them I keep getting an error message that fails to save permission changes.

so is that directory bind can automatically do that or manually like we are copy paste?
Directory bind will move the contents of any folder on /sdcard and move it to any folder on /extSdCard then bind them. This means when you go into original location, you see files still but are actually in new location

None of the solutions on google are working though... And yes, I'm running android 4.4.2 stock on xperia z ultra... Everytime I try to change something on it like download a torrent using ttorrent or add or delete a file on it, it says operation failed and stuff like that... The weird thing is that when I use other file managers like the file commander app, everything works!

It will only work with File Commander.
On kit kat, google has imposed sd card write permissions.
So only Sony stock apps can write into the partition. So you can use File Commander to cut, copy, paste, delete etc.
3rd party apps cannot modify the sd card. This has been done to increase security.
So if you are rooted, search for SD fix on play store.
If you aren't rooted, then root and fix it

I have a D618 (4GB internal), and I noticed that there is a "Move to SD" option in the app manager, I tried it, but the app data is still in the internal memory.
And I heard that Kitkat devices have write issues with the SD card, and there is an app for fixing that, but I haven't tried it since my phone is not yet rooted.
Anyone here who has a rooted phone want to try?
Thanks
Move to SD only moves part of the apk file not app data.
It's not affected by the kitkat write issue.
My idea
Use GL to SD. For this you MUST HAVE ROOT. I root my G2 Mini just for it.

Thanks mate, worked for me
If you create a ext4 partition on your sdcard, there's multiple guides online for this. Then root your device and download link2sd, your able to move all apps, cache from apps and etc to the sdcard

Spoiler Alert!

Once my phone gets back from service, I will try to make a script which will mount /data/app/ and /data/dalvik-cache/ to a second partition on the SD.

I have this 32gb external sdcard and i want to copy videos, mp3's and other files on it. i tried connecting my device to my pc and start to copy files to my phone's external sd (sdcard1), error displays "The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected". i also tried root explorer but error says "Copy failed".
I can transfer files to my device internal memory (sdcard) without problems but i don't want to put the files there because the storage might get full. I also tried sdcard fix from playstore but it won't do it.
btw, I have a rooted phone with dual recovery, fw 23.0.1.A.167. i hope someone can help me on this...
Try to format the sdcard in your phone, maybe it solve the problem
Send from heaven...
Type this commands in adb:
adb push example.mp3 /data/media/0/
And open file manager on your phone/tablet, move example.mp3 from sdcard to ext. sd

Me too faced the same problem a few days ago when i updated my phone to the same firmware, i tried everything but nothing worked, then after trying all the things which i found, i tried changing the card and it worked! Then i put my card in other phone, it didn't work there too!
Result: my card somehow became read-only! I could read the files which were already on it but i was not able to write or delete something. Got it replaced under warranty, everything is fine now.
Wish you luck with your card!
