i am facing a different kind of rooting problem
i have just rooted my my htc amaze and i am using 4.2.2 jb rom with everything working
but i installed Titanium backup and it is not working for me
it is showing a message that your fone is not rooted
but i have unlocked bootloader, super cid , s-off my fone
then why it is not working for me
does any one help me regarding this issue
Do you see supersu or superuser in your app drawer?
Install Super user and then you will have root access
Use one of the toolkits such as hasoon's or the Windroid one to flash the root binaries.
Or just re-flash the ROM.

It's not uncommon to root and not get busybox installed, which TB needs to do it's magic. If you open TB and click on the, "Problems" button it will install it's own busybox so it can work.
If you've solved this please post back so others know not to continue posting possible solutions like I, and others did

Hey guys I had rooted my Acer liquid mini a few months ago using super one click 1.7, it rooted successfully.
Now recently I installed the official gingerbread (2.3.5) update and then after that I couldn't run apps that needed root permission, so I did a root check and it said it wasnt rooted. So here where the problem is whenever I try rooting with super one click 1.7 now it gets stuck at some "pneuter" step or something.
What do I do? I really want to root again but it doesn't seem to be going ahead of this step.
P.S - I have USB de bugging on.

Have you tried rooting using a newer version of Superoneclick?
Yeah I tried v2.3.1 it seems to get stuck at the 3rd step after killing ADB server and starting ADB server. It left it alone for like 5-10 minutes din't seem like the program was responding. I have rooted my cellphone before and it should take nothing more than a minute, I think something is wrong.
Oh and also after the official update I had all my files and apps as I left it before updating that means before updating it must have automatically backed up everything. So it also backed up the superuser app. I had Superuser, titanium backup, ROM manager still installed but couldn't run any of them (since I lost my root permissions). I hope that helped. Just disclosing all the things that happened.

You could try using z4root and/or Gingerbreak.
No z4 didn't work I used 1.3.0. I don't think it has anything to do with the software, I have rooted before and it should work, I think it has something to do with my cell , something to do with the update cuz it dint work after that.:| but I don't know what went wrong.

It is your software. That's why when you root your device, it is advised not to update officially; but instead using a custom rom (based on the updated software version). You were able to root before since your previous firmware was rootable (at least in that way).
Oh damn that means I have to wait till they come out with a root able version of my cellphone? Isn't there any other way out?

OK, to start things of I'm no android nub, I've already rooted my Nexus 7 2012 using Wugfresh's Nexus Root Toolkit, I've also already granted access to a lot of root needed apps through SuperSu, I also have busybox installed. For some reason I just installed Gamecih version 3.00. Life. The app still says error need root even after I granted access to it through the supersu root permission prompt. Since this issue has been present in a lot of forums, it is a common problem and some of you should already be aware of this problem. But if any of you know a solution besides reinstalling the app I would be overjoyed. Thank you

Nope unfortunately not. Currently using Game Killer and it works like a charm.
If you've rooted with Kingo Hashcode suggests flashing the latest SU.zip in SafeStrap.
Also, I was in no way condoning the use of Kingo root when I mentioned it before. I made a personal decision as this is a dev device for me.
If you did use Kingo or vroot, I highly recommend installing the latest Safestrap, downloading the SuperSU flash .zip from @chainfire's website:
http://download.chainfire.eu/351/SuperSU/
Then reboot, enter safestrap recovery and install the supersu .zip.
This will get rid of the Kingo root version of the apk and su binary.

I updated and just downloaded the Safestrap .apk file from here:
http://d-h.st/zas
Installed it and followed the on-screen prompts.
Flashed the .zip file from here:
http://download.chainfire.eu/351/SuperSU/
And rebooted.
One thing to note was that I couldn't get to my External SD Card from Safestrap, so I had to re-boot again and copy over Super User.zip file onto the Internal Storage to flash it.
Feel a bit better, but still paranoid about ever using Klingo again until it's WIDELY UNANIMOUSLY confirmed that it's not nefarious,...bummer for jumping on the update so soon :-/

...to which I totally appreciate!
Just wish the warning came out before I used it. That's what I get for being too hot to trot regarding that update!
I've seen Kingo mentioned on the forums, so at the time it didn't cross my mind as needing to be concerned about it. Lesson learned. Early adopters [potentially] take it in the pants. Next time, let more people play with it first THEN jump on the bandwagon!
I literally just used kingo about 10 mins ago. I used kies to update and then ran kingo because I couldn't stand not having root on this device. Everything is working fine. Wondering if I need to worry now lol. Anyways I take it safe strap needs to installed on my laptop and then use it to flash to the phone. Anyone have a link to the note 3 version of safestrap? You can download/install Safestrap from the phone, then flash the SU .zip file in recovery mode.

IF, yes if Kingo steals user information it has already happened most likely during the root process. Just to be sure yes install supersu using Safestrap, the will will ensure you don't have someone in the background spying on your phone.

Superuser pro is not a standalone app it is only a permission placed within the superuser app that was (in this case) already provided by kingo and installed during the root process. You need to flash the Super Superuser from Chainfire via safe strap and reboot...this will overwrite the naughty superuser apk that kingo installed.

Yes, during the root process, the Kingo root application downloads the exploits and tries them on the device and then deletes them so that there's nothing left over for people to examine. Kind of ingenious really. Still no excuse for the amount of info their collection (and which could potentially be used for ill).

I tried previously when I had 4.4.2 loaded and it failed. So I gave up until I read this thread and voila! it worked! just rooted 2 phones using kingroot 4.1.
Well, it looks like The people at Kingroot have managed to root this.
I can confirm as well. I'm on a Verizon S4 Lollipop and Kingroot ver 4.0.703 was able to root my phone without even having to use a PC. The app said my ICH-I545 was unsupported but like everyone says just hit the Root button anyway & it still works!
I dunno if therea any malicious code tho..
I found a site to download Kingroot faster and easier without all the confusing ads. Just be sure to download the latest version. http://androidxda.com/download-kingroot-application
Well it seemed to work for me, but now my phone is stuck in a reboot loop after trying to replace KingRoot with SuperSU. The phone boots, shows the lockscreen and works for about 30 seconds, then whatever app is running closes, then the System UI seems to crash and the phone reboots. Factory reset / safe mode don't seem to help.
I found a factory image and have consilidated the links here, if it helps anyone.
Wow...congrats to all the OTA takers!

Yesterday I tried the Kingroot app. I downloaded and installed it over my already-rooted Galaxy S4 ( I had been having wifi / internet connection issues since installing a rooted lollipop). When done, I ran their Purify app. After a few reboots that threw it into a boot loop and a battery pull (which seemed to stop the boot loop and allowed it to boot normally) everything seems to work perfectly and my WiFi/Internet connection is solved... phone is much faster too.
I did notice their purity app automatically kills almost everything running in the background. I use the Automateit app heavily, and it took me a little bit to figure out how to set Purity not to kill certain apps that were running in the background.
Hey there.... XDA has actually been my go to for any android issues for quite some time now. About two years ago, my ex introduced me to developer options... and root ability... and lucky patcher and super user and busy box etc...... and, well...
my life has never been the same.
So, i've been using the site as a ghost for a couple of years. This may be my first.... or second... actual post... I'll probably get yelled at because it's already been done before or it's in the wrong place, but...
So, I'm not even sure what I did....
Oh... HTC sucks where as it doesn't "remember" things after reboot. One of the apps I frequent is link2sd plus. So every time I would have to open it remount it, fastboot it, and it would work for a little while until it would reboot again for some reason. and so when that would happen, until I did that, half of my apps were unusable. and it would start out using the (or trying to update the) HTC blinkfeed theme, which I didn't even use, I was using a different launcher. So I thought, hey, maybe if I freeze that app (or launcher). Bad idea.
So, then I just got a black screen. And then, so then eventually I just got a bootloop.
At this point it's been days and i've been trying to figure out what to do.
At one point, I was finally able to flash the original custom rom (decided to do that and start over) i'm still in twrp recovery, so I figure that's a good sign.... soo... but then I couldn't flash the image. I've got windows 8 and I've heard that's diffucult.
So. I was thinking. My plan of action was going to be to have all of the files i'm about to mention downloaded already. and just do it, in one big go. If I can ****ing figure out how to ****ing flash it.
Command keeps telling me I don't have adb.exe. wtf. yes I do. I have downloaded it, and re-downloaded it, I downloaded Universal Naked Driver, One Click Root are partial to Nano ADB.... I'm not sure what the **** to do when it comes to actually implementing my idea.
I'm also open to someone helping me out via team viewer.
My idea...
1. bomb it with Aroma, which I have the download for. I'm not sure if I should keep it as a zip or unzip it.
(all of this will be ready to go, all in one folder... well except for that one.... that will be alone on the SD card when I put it in.... or....should I flash it ?)
2. reinstall (or flash?) the superuser zip, and then the twrp img.
3. reinstall (or flash) stock rom, and then stock image..... (do I need to find and install a stock kernel as well? since I bombed it? ?!?!)
thinking maybe I should switch 2 and 3... ? although it looks like aroma does have it's own little super basic own OS of sorts ... and maybe I could start from scratch I really just want to get s-off.... but anyways, I really just want a working phone;
:crying:
Well, you should download the stock software so you at least have a working phone, and for s-off, download sunshine and run that, it will s-off and root your phone. Idk about the kernel tho, if you need one, just ask

I would actually say that you are better off just flashing the disable system write protection module found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-610/development/mod-wpmod-disable-write-protection-t3149168
It's more stable and you dont lose xfat support like you do with jmz kernel. Just follow my directions on that thread and your phone will be rooted and have system write protection disabled in 1 go. After this you can install SDFix app from play store to enable non-system apps to write to external sd. Then insall xposed framework from here http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk . Once this is installed, Run the app and say yes to installing the framework then reboot you phone. Now you can use the xposed app to download and install the sense 6 toolbox module which will allow you to customize lots of things in the stock rom.
