Hi! Is it possible to install and use old touchwiz 3.0 (I9000 / S8500) widgets like Buddies Now and Feed and Update, Birthday Countdown etc on the latest official Android 4.1.2 for S II?
And can I use old style lock screen with puzzle in some way (not necessarily)?
Thanks!
Someone?..
You want to install tw from the i9000?
Why? And no I can't see that working at all. You can do a nandroid bk up and try but do let us know
Edit: do you mean only the apks? Not tw as I first thought.

Yes I mean that I want to install apk's widgets from TW3.0 (Buddies now etc) to newer TW.
Are they supported to each other? Is it possible? :3
Best bet would be is to bk up you're rom with a good old nandroid and then try. It won't hurt to try it out. Or give me a link and I'll try. I don't think it will work still as framework is different. I'll look for the modded apks if there are any as I'm interested in this

Won't work. TouchWiz is not compatible with AOKP. If you want TouchWiz, just install a TouchWiz based ROM. There are dozens out there.
That is not entirely correct.
you can actually install a port of the touchwiz 4 on any custom rom aokp/aosp.
Just download this and install. I guarantee it will work. i have tested it on my own SGS 2.

If you dont want to flash it, you can also extract the apk from the zip and then install as usual

Interesting. I stand corrected.
I still don't get why you would do this though...
Yes
Maybe he wants the tweak settings that aokp has, or just a light rom with touchwiz without any bloat.
I wonder too why he wants it.
I really miss the stock motoblur clock app. I just have a question that can I install that clock app on my CM7? If yes, please post the apk
I think that all the blur apps are not compatible with any other rom, i mean they will not be installed in any other non-blured rom (i am 99% sure about that)(ex. i tried with no luck installing a touchwiz app on cm10.1) but you can always give it a try.
I dont use GB so i cant provide you the apk, but its easy to find it. just download a blured rom, then open the flashable zip (with a browser) and find the apk in the system apps

actually this is the main reason for the existence of roms!
most of the sammy based roms come with touch wiz but it is safe to remove once you installed another launcher (this is absolutely necessary(!)) but it does not use any resources when deactivated so this should be enough.
if you want to have a concrete recommendation I would definitely name the great NeatRom! You have the option to flash it and leave every checkbox in aroma unticked. I guarantee you, this will be absolutely slim and debloated! Have fun
Cheers
Without Touchwiz ?! Touchwiz can't be deleted so any ROM you flash to your phone is either based on an edited version of Touchwiz, or based on AOSP (Stock Android).
If you don't want bloatware or the Touchwiz UI go for Cyanogenmod, otherwise there're plenty of ROMS based on Touchwiz except without all of the bloatware and useless crap.
Hey Guys,
I was able to successfully root my Note 3 Neo (N750) with help of Philz recovery (many thanks). After doing usual nandroid backups, Xposed and stuff.
I wanted to change look and feel of my phone. Since there are not many custom roms and most of the cool themes are for CM, I tried my hand at HKThemeManager to apply CM themes on stock samsung rom.
Did anyone had any success?
I would like to port themes to be compatible with stock firmware. Devs/seniors please point me in right direction.
Thanks,
Nikhil

I dont think it is possible to use CM theme in Stock Samsung. If you are using S5 launcher then google you will get some theme for it.
Ok. Although HKThemeManager allows using CM themes on stock roms, but I am not able to utilise it due to some kind of permission error. Any way I like stock rom on note 3neo due to features and functionality (it's so feature rich).
Any idea how to change caller id interface? (Not uci app pls)
I use mihome launcher and download themes from the launcher itself.

you can push the apk file of the launcher you have downloaded to /system/app
and delete the stock touchwizhome launcher in system/priv-app
to use the custom launcher as a stock launcher
I have a thread on the Galaxy S5 forum concerning custom toggle icons and backgrounds. It came to my attention that these will work for the note II after my doing a little tweaking. Here are a few that I tweaked with the rest being in my original thread. Feel free to check this thread out and if you like something maybe I can change it to work on the Note II.
This will also change your status bar icons.
If you want to keep your stock icons but like one of the backgrounds, the background alone can be sent in a zip as well.
If anyone is stock and rooted and will give me a copy of your systemui I'll make a restore zip.

Best to make a backup first. Also it should make a backup of your systemui under vrtheme-backup on your internal SD.
I believe it will work but there is no guarantee
hi. you say we have to perform "a little tweaking". what should I do to make this work on my note 2? thank you
I did the tweaking already.
Hi Tulsadiver
These themes toggles work for me on DittoNote 5.2 - thanks
sorry. my bad
Hi, VRilski! Thanks for testing these for me.
DN4 last built, wipe cache and dalwik, install zip....nothing happened !! What's wrong?
No need to wipe anything. Just flash.
You can upload your systemui if you like and I'll take a look at it.

DN4 is based on Korean rom 4.4.4 - there is a lot of files QMG - not png.
Ah ok.. because I tried many times with different methods.
Thanks.
is this work on stock 4.4 rooted phone.

Are you asking or saying that it does? Are you 4.4.2 or 4.4.0? Do you have a custom recovery? If so, make a backup first or at least upload your systemui here so that you can restore it. It would be nice if you would upload your systemui any way so I can make a zip for restoring purposes for people that don't like the results. It should work but if it doesn't do anything I would be happy to look at your systemui to see why.
