onandroid for SGY: full BAK / RESTORE without rebooting into recov - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Themes and Apps

onandroid is an open source script for backing up partitions as nandroid packed archives.
it works from standard mode, you waste no time to reboot into "Android system recovery". pretty awesome.
sgy partns patch file is available, it should be installed via CWM rather than ASR.
I experienced on different machine of mine a failure to install the .zip failed (maybe because update-binary misfit), but onandroid is just a single shell script in /systen/bin/
if it sits there with proper permissions, it works. I just copied the file manually and it worked nicely.
let us share info on which partitions you were successfully able to restore:
bml5 ?
kernel-partn ?
boot partn ?

SGY improvements: kernel bak & rest hey guYs !
ONB can be improved on for SGY model.
just a few lines in the script would allow for backup & restore of kernel, recov section as well as actual efs / bml5 section (with netlock stuff on it).
who is first to come up with v9.11 for SGY?
The Porsche 911 amongst all SGY backup software!
run bmlunlock (find in all kernelUpdate flashers) after checking for SGY model (as well as alias models e.g. GT-S5363) string in build.prop

Wowwww!
Finally FX Team support Mini Pro.
Great to see that we will have finally a real CM rom for Xperia familly.
As soon as I come back from short holidays I will test this rom... ;-)
EDIT: J, you need to update README file in github!

jerpelea what is build? GRJ22 or GRJ90
can someone give some intro on what is this new cm7 please?
is it the cm's original rom?
CWM support
First, thank you very much for "official" support for our Mini pro - that's great news!
I would like to ask you if it's possible to include into CWM RECOVERY-4.1.14 support for CWM too. I think there is many people already having installed older version (3.x) of this tool and than we can do simple upgrade.
Thanks in advantage.
hy all
to be sure that users don't flash roms from other devices cwm has an check for device
semc device name is U20i or U20a
cm device name is mimmi
if you are coming from an rom that has other device name you will have to flash first stock rom
we have tested flashing this rom from stock and older FXP and works
we are preparing new FXP017 package that will fix this issue
What if we edit the build.prop in order to change our phones names? Could this work?

Hi Jerpelea.
Can you please upload a CWM zip file that can be installed using CWM v.3?
All Mini Pro roms use CWM since some months ago and not include xRecovery anymore...
THANKS

there's a thread running about dual recovery on minipro, which lets u enter xrecovery by pressin the home button and cwm by pressin the back button.
also I found that replacing the "recovery.tar" file in the bin folder with a newer version works just as well as flashing a whole new cwm rom.
--
that said, can this rom be installed from cwm 3.2 v5 as well or does it have to be done via newest cwm?
and ofcourse thanks for bringing cm7 to our device

Hello again, 1st report:
Issue:
After 1st installation FC for Status Bar app (process com.android.systemui).
Details:
Use these steps for installation:
1 - Go to xrecovery
2 - Install CWM 4
3 - Reboot to CWM
4 - Install FX Rom
5 - Install Gapps
6 - Factory reset / wipe cache/ Davilk cache
7 - Reboot
Also after SE black screen, the 1st boot image image is not correctly visible...
Thanks
@jerpelea, why isn't loaded CWM Recovery inside flashable CWM zip, also If you manually push CWMv4 to phone with permissions 777 (or 755), it just show a distorted image, it's loaded another way non-chargemon script?.
This is chargemon from zip:
Code:
#!/system/xbin/sh
/system/bin/charger
# remount rootfs rw
mount -o remount,rw rootfs /
chmod 0777 /dev -R
chown 0.2000 /dev/oncrpc -R
cd /
rm init*
rm logo.rle
rm default.prop
tar -xf /system/bin/boot.tar
#nobodyAtall - Fix
mkdir -p /cm
cd /cm
tar -xf /system/bin/boot.tar
sync
# Umount /system, data and cache
umount -l /dev/block/mtdblock0
umount -l /dev/block/mtdblock1
umount -l /dev/block/mtdblock2
umount -l /dev/block/mtdblock3

Btw, Great work so far, finally we got a Free gingerbread!

[Reminder] DirectoryBind Can Link External SD with Internal (Game Data on Ext Card!)

After much Googleing I found a solution that most people are having when it comes to making games (like Shadowgun and Gameloft Games) "detect" the external card that way you can keep the huge game files on your external and keep internal tidy. I did not get a chance to test it on our devices because mine is having some problems and I'm trying to fix it but I don't see we would have an problems as people in that forum claim it works on ICS. Either way, it is worth a shot until we find a solution to this problem.
It's an app made by an XDA member, Slig and the thread/appcan be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
The only downside to the app is that you have to "mount" the data before launching the game, but IMO, it's a small price to pay to not fill up your internal storage with three games.
What follows is the original thread by slig.

This is my application to bind directories located on external_sd to directories on internal memory (/sdcard/). This way You can transfer large application data directories to external_sd. Could be usefull with ex.: games from Gameloft, other like Shadowgun, applications like CamScanner.

* You can create any number of Data -> Target directory pairs, mount them manually or choose to mount them on system boot (checkbox does that).
* On/Off switch controls whole mount-on-boot function.

* Icon changes if application is using mounted entry
* DirectoryBind can tell what application is using this entry (tap at entry in use)
* Long tap on entry (disabled) brings edit/delete window
* App auto umount all entries on USB connected and remount after USB disconnected (for now via BroadcardReceiver UMS_CONNECTED / UMS_DISCONNECTED)
* App shows notification and vibrates if auto umount on USB fails
* If mounting all checked entries (ex. on boot) app is waiting specified time (def. 60 sec) if data directory is not available (happens sometimes at boot)
* Tested sucessfully with Asphalt 6, Shadowgun, DeadSpace, CamScanner
Color statuses:
* GRAY - entry disabled

please do not test data transfer files features on sensitive data they seem to work OK but are not throughly tested
Compiled using API android 2.3.3. Attached as self-signed development apk package. No market link for now.
important info
* Remember ! All entries must be umounted before attempting to use MASS STORAGE MODE. Application will try to do it automatically on USB CONNECT. If it fails and You'll use MASS STORAGE MODE sdcard partition WILL CRASH and reboot will be required to restore normal operations ! Main cause of that is appplication using mounted folder. You have to close that application and retry to umount entry.
* This application requires *root privileges* so it has full control over entire system! Uses root privileges to invoke "mount", "umount", "lsof" and "grep" shell commands via su and it DOES NOT write anything on system partitions.
It DOES NOT apply any permanent changes to the OS, however I cannot guarantee it does not contain BUGS and security issues. I'm not responsible to any damage it can cause. Use it AT YOUT OWN RISK !
application permissions explained
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - application automatically creates target path, copy existing files from target to data
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - application can perform automatic bind on boot
VIBRATE - application creates notification alert with vibrations when cannot umount all locations on USB connect
READ_LOGS - dump own logcat to file
*ROOT* - invoking "mount", "umount", "lsof" and "grep" commands via su
BUGS REPORTING
As every program can contain bugs so this one too. I'm very grateful if someone find and report a bug. No report will go unattended and I'll look into each case. There is just one thing, often report even very detailed is not enough so application has built in logging (logcat) capability - it can be enabled in Preferences.
Logcat can be dumped to file from main app window: menu -> dump logcat to file
So when reporting bug please attach that file to Your post

In theory it should work, you just need to have root access for it to work.

[GUIDE] Full Phone Backup without Unlock or Root

This is a guide which will allow you to backup your phone via ADB using one simple command. Its commonly used when flashing another firmware or ROM. Keep in mind this is experimental and not exactly publicized as a feature of ICS/JB, so don't count on this as your only method of backup! Firstly you need to have ADB, if you dont have, download and install/extract from here; JDK (Java Development Kit) if you dont have that, you can download it from here and updated Android SDK Platform Tools via SDK Manager and last but not least a drivers for your phone, you can download them from the Sony Development site. OK, let's start :victory:
1. Connect your device via USB, and go to C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86\sdk\platform-tools. Hold Shift and right click. Choose open command window here.
2. Optionally, type the command 'adb devices' to ensure that your device is properly recognized. If you're comfortable with ADB already, just skip this.
The following text its about the adb backup command and all about it. I recommend reading it. Thanks to copkay for the further backup process.
In ADB there is a command 'adb backup' which this thread is all about. The command parameters format is:
Code:
adb backup [-f <file>] [-apk|-noapk] [-shared|-noshared] [-all] [-system|nosystem] [<packages...>]
The most basic command you can use* is:
Code:
adb backup -all
This will use the defaults to backup only app and device data (not the APKs themselves) to the current directory as 'backup.ab'
* This may not work for every setup. If you get an error such as "adb: cannot open file ./backup.ab", use:
Code:
adb backup -all -f C:\backup.ab
Or substitute the path of your choice in place of C:\.
To explain the parameters:
Code:
-f <file>
Use this to choose where the backup file will be stored, e.g. '-f /backup/mybackup.ab', which will save it at the root of your drive (C:\ for Windows, etc.) in a folder called backup, as a file named 'mybackup.ab'. I recommend using this flag to set a location manually, as with my first backup test, it said that it completed successfully, but I was unable to locate the backup file. I have no idea where it was saved, but it wasn't where it should have been located.
Code:
-apk|-noapk
This flags whether or not the APKs should be included in the backup or just the apps' respective data. I personally use -apk just in case the app isn't available in the Market, so that I don't have to go hunt it down again. The default is -noapk.
Code:
-shared|-noshared
This flag is used to "enable/disable backup of the device's shared storage / SD card contents; the default is noshared.", which for the Xperias I would certainly flag to -shared, but from my test, it did not restore all of the contents of my internal storage, so I recommend backing up music, pictures, video, and other internal storage items manually, just to be on the safe side. The default is -noshared.
Code:
-all
This flag is just an easy way to say to backup ALL apps. The packages flag (further on) can be used to choose individual packages, but unless you're just wanting to backup a specific application, use -all for a full system backup.
Code:
-system|-nosystem
This flag sets whether or not the -all flag also includes system applications or not. I used -system, but this is probably unnecessary, and I would almost guess that it is safer to use -nosystem, but use your own judgment on this. The default is -system.
Code:
<packages...>
Here you can list the package names (e.g. com.google.android.apps.plus) specifically that you would like to backup. Use this only if you're looking to backup a specific application.
Click to collapse
3. Once you've made your decision on how to perform the backup, simply type the command as you would like it; in my case, this is the command that I used:
Code:
adb backup -apk -shared -all -f C:\backup.ab
^ It backs up all data including music, pictures, videos, APKs etc. ^
Code:
adb backup -apk -all -f C:\backup.ab
^ It backs up ONLY the APKs, system and user ones ^
4. You will see a screen like the following:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

5. Enter a password (if desired) for encryption of the backup file. RETAIN THIS PASSWORD FOR RESTORING LATER.
6. This process will take several minutes to complete, depending on the settings you've chosen, but when completed, you will get a toast on-screen saying 'Backup Complete', or if you miss that, you'll know once your phone returns to the home screen.
9. To restore, with your device connected open your command prompt again, and type:
Code:
adb restore C:\backup.ab
10. You will see a screen like the one below:
11. Simply type in your current encryption password (if you've set one), and the password with which the backup was encrypted (if you chose to set a password), and the restore will begin. It again will take several minutes depending on the size of the backup and the options chosen.
12. You're back to normal, Enjoy !
Could I restore my data using this method after I rooted my device (xperia P, LB)? Will I lose root if I do?

i mean this screenshots that you posted. i don't get to them.
i guess they should popup after entering the command in the console, right ?
in my case nothing happens on the phone.
Mis-typed link for ADB
Thanks DavidMKD for the info...
I know the thread is over a year old, but I was referred here by XDA for assistance. For the benefit of others who might arrive here for similar help... the ADK link properties show it to be ending in "htmll" (can't post full link due to forum spam rules), and clicking on it comes up with an error 404, probably due to the extra "l" in html ?
Haven't yet gone through the process, but hoping to have a working solution soon. I read stuff from cover to cover and follow instructions to the letter, so here goes....
Cheers

¤ Build Custom kernel (KernelSU) with a Linux subsystem within Windows 10 By yourself is the best way if you are interested in new root management.
Why?
On Android 10+, system partitions might no longer be able to remount as read-write. For devices use dynnamic partition, it is nearly impossible to modify system partiton as there is no space left.

Why Read Only? Can't make R/W (vndk lite).Almost GSIs builds are RO now. Because R/W are so big not suitable for... (Most devices have small system partition which might even be less than 3GB.)
Howto install "KernelSu (0.5.7) A13 for SM-T225 (kernel source T225XXS3CWC2)" ?
Thank to kernel-patched from DEV "zillion".
This method does not require you to have TWRP, nor does it require your phone to have root privileges; it is suitable for your first installation of KernelSU.

Ok , how to make and may be i reinstall linux ?
May be i am research later
Definitely correct about the 3in1 - not a chance! And also definitely do not use the decryption files! And, true, the stock or any other pre-existing recovery will not go away! Unfortunately, if you are using a simple magisk patched rom, it won't do the backup because it does not seem to ever recognize the data. The Fastboot works but, for the moment, it is as easy to use a FastbootD patched recovery. Finally, I was only able to reboot to system just once after flashing the twrp. I think that might have been because I did not try to decrypt after the initial flash. Been at this for 4 days. It's given me a new appreciation for how difficult this is! As a non developer (I am a lawyer), I got used to the TWRP process taking no more than 20 minutes!
It's exhausting. And I was going through this process (not root, I need that), to be more able to make the device do what it is advertised to do: make calls. I might give up on that!

uses gsi A13(QPR-1) such as elixer 3.6 etc. Assistant can make a call from your contact.
You were never supposed to post this, considering the github source code wasn't updated according to this twrp image.
edit: Thanks for removing the twrp image from your post, I'll be updating twrp when things get more stable.

Make "YAAP 20230604 unofficial GSI " R/W super partition with KernelSU".
YAAP is a project founded by Adhitya Mohan (@poad42) and Ido Ben-Hur (@idoybh) with the goal of staying close to AOSP in design goals, offer a clean interface, do as much as original development as possible and avoid becoming a kitchen sink and cherry picked mess.
Whats New?
Synced with latest sources of YAAP.
Synced with latest Trebledroid patches.
All builds are RO now (sorry every build so huge now that i had to. Otherwise it wouldnt fit in anyone's devices)
Example ( Features)
Update kernelsu v.0.6.0
Download: new attachment.
Is working for one ui ?
