I have lately bought a Colorfly CT132 Tablet, A31 All Winner CPU.
In all apps (youtube, some game containing videos, a video player ...) the video orientation seems to be fixed (original landscape).
The whole app interface and content seems to rotate correctly based on the way I'm holding the tablet including text, buttons and all...
Even the video frame rotates to match the new location but the video content is always in the original Landscape position.
The video even gets squeezed to match the rotated video frame proportions, but without being rotated (if changing from landscape to portrait).
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey,
yesterday, I accidently recorded a video into portrait mode. First, i didn't know how that happend, because i held the phone in landscape mode
I run some tests and found the feature/problem (however).
If you hold the phone for a short while in portrait mode (even 1 sec) and start recording the video, it remains recorded in portrait mode, even if you hold it most of the time in landscape mode.
Is there any solution to turn videos back into landscape mode? maybe without loosing quality?
You could try Avidemux or some other video editor to rotate, but you will have to reencode which means at least some quality loss I guess
But I am wondering how you even get the camera to record your video rotated, because the photo's and video's I shoot rotated do show correctly (rotated) on my phone, but when I transfer them to my PC they are all regular landscape
edit: The information about the orientation of the phone during recording is in the metadata, but I cannot find much information about players that support it Youtube however does recognize the metadata and shows the video with the correct orientation
So whenever i seemed to record video, or play video, it's all stretched up
so i have to put on autorotation and play around with it til i get a decent aspect ratio.
I'm on foxhound 2.0.
is there anyway to get camera to work properly and to be able to watch video properly without stretched view?
I have now TN Shooter Rom on my evo 4g and i've noticed that when i record video on portrait the video playback is stretched out, seems to be fine when i record video holding the phone in landscape. Is anybody else having this??
I've also tried flashing another Rom but the same thing happens.
any one?
I have exactly the same issue with some phones.
The source of problem is buggy player. It's just ridiculous that somebody decided to play ALL videos in landscape and on top of that they made totally unacceptable decision to stretch video to screen. (basically stretching 320x240 video to 480x640 for example).
All I can say - WTF!?? any workaround for these broken android players??
I have a nasty problem recording video with my samsung devices (seems to be all of them from S3 to my Note 4)
it adds a rotation tag or some sort to the video. if you start a video with an "unclear" orientation (say flat screen up point straight down) this problem becomes apparent.
or if you hold the phone upright portrait and record a video but then turn it landscape it "keeps" the video in portrait for playback (yes this includes once I upload to youtube extremely annoying)
I will record a video normally and it will be "vertical video" (portrait) instead of landscape like I am holding it.
or as with today the video was rotated 180' upside down.
Is there an app I can install that will let me strip/reset this rotation tag so all my videos playback "landscape" proper and not 90' or 180' ? ie let me "correct" the dumb meta tag rotation tag or whatever it is samsung adds to the video causing it to do this.?
this isn't specific to this phone as ive been having this problem with android in general. but maybe someone knows a trick to get specific apps to fill the fullscreen. i use DirectTV Stream, Hulu, Netflix, Showtime, HBO Max and Prime Video. The only app the has a zoom function is Prime Video. all my other apps play with black bars on the left and right. i think its just crappy apps and lazy android developers because some of these have a zoom function on iOS. only DirectTV Stream and HBO Max don’t.
anyways does anyone know if its possible to force fullscreen streaming? what app does sony use to showoff the fullscreen 4k movies in their ads for the 1 iii? and some reviews showed movie clips in fullscreen. thx if you know.
I think you just make a typical two-finger "zoom in" (i.e. two fingers apart) motion. It will then crop the image (assuming it's not 21:9-ish source) to fill the screen

Click to collapse
maybe im not doing the two-finger motion correctly, but it hasn't worked for me. i think only with the youtube app. i'll try again.
two finger gesture doesn't work on at least hulu, directtv stream and showtime. isn't anyone else bothered by this? i even tried the one finger salute. lol
what apps stream video/movies in fullscreen on android specifically xperia 1 iii?
I've noticed that Prime Video pinch-to-zoom doesn't work on my X1M3 (though Zoom is available in the hamburger/three dot menu); finger pinch zoom works on my S9, so that may have been some additional functionality Samsung included. Perhaps.
As far as other apps - Netflix pinch to zoom works perfectly, as does YouTube, iPlayer and Disney+. And wow, 2:1 and particularly 2.39:1 theatrical aspect stuff looks stunning on this screen!
4K HDR will be in full screen .
