im using my note 2 with at&t.. i get 3g/hspa+ now untouched stock 4.1.2 verizon note 2. would it be possible to flash a custom rom then a at&t radio to pick up lte?
I'm interested in this as well. I'm currently using Straight Talk (AT&T) on my i605. 4G would be awesome! I've done some reading, and supposedly it's just a software restriction holding us back from connecting to that band. I could be wrong.

i dont think it'd work without bricking/killing the radio to your phone all together, but i could be wrong, especially since I'm still running on vzw.
Maybe flashing an AT&T modem would do the trick. I'm scared to try though. I don't want to end up with a paperweight...

no you do not want to flash another carriers modem/radio unless you want to permanently lose data.

agreed, but you do not want to flash another carriers radio/modem or another carriers stock firmware via odin. Flashing a .zip rom in recovery that has been properly modified for another carrier is different.
I'm on Net10 and I'm running a AT&T rom . only ROM I have found that let's me run 4.3. I tried T-Mobile but couldn't even get it to flash. But one att rom worked for me. Didn't have to add any APN setting. Just worked flawlessly

Yes i used apn manager to import. I keep getting insert sim card and in my pull down screen it saysno service select network (tmobile) unavailable. But if i reflash padawan. The sim card reads but on edge. Is there something going wrong with the sim card reader when changing radios?

It will prob work as is, but you could also potentially achieve faster data speeds by flashing other modems.

You have to flash both the modem and Radio for T-mobile. I believe if you are flashing a Tmobile Rom then the modem is included but that's the tricky part- I never found a reliable modem/radio combination on the T-mobile Rom that gave me the consistency of the AT&T Roms. Also, I noticed that frequently I would have to wait for a few minutes after flashing something new before I would get mobile signal.
After flashing the Tmobile Rom the last time I lost the ability to return to AT&T Roms. I would flash and flash and still get no carrier signal. I had to revert back completely to stock- unroot and start over. Luckily this is VERY easy using Odin. Maybe you should try this and start over.
I recently bought my galaxy note i717m from Bell in Canada and unlocked it with network unlock code purchased on internet. Then, I got someone from kijiji to root my phone and upgraded from ics to jb and made the phone to work with wind/mobilicity. I am now using a wind sim card on my phone but i found out that the jb system is very buggy and crashed too often, Anyone knows how to downgrade jb to ics or recommend a more stable jb rom? Does downgrading to ics or changing to a new rom will make my phone not supporting wind/mobilicity anymore? I dont know anything about android btw, anyone kind enough to write me a simple guide? Thanks a lot!

Would it be possible to flash a stock (original from HTC - for example the 32gb unlocked rom) on a At&t HTC One without rooting?
My company uses Good Enterprise and it won't work on a rooted phone so I'm debating on getting the At&t HTC One (I'm up for an update and can get it for 199) or just get the unlocked version from HTC?
At&t takes FOREVER with updates and I just don't want to deal with that again (possibly wait 5-6 months before At&t releases 4.2.2)
You probably are better off with the international version if you can afford it

so this is a link to the stock OEM rom which is not rooted. what do i have to do to replace my at&t rom with this? also in the future, how would i go about installing the updates?
again, at the end of the day, Good Enterprises does a quick check to make sure the phone is not rooted, so no matter what i do, the phone cannot be rooted. if i have to root, flash something which results in the phone going back to non-rooted, that's fine, i just want to understand what's needed before i get started
edit:
can't i flash the stock rom which would have come on the unlocked htc one if i had just gotten that instead?
i understand that the sprint n2 data partition is different, but if we changed that mount point within the install script could we feasibly install it and it work after we flashed the config file as well? i know this is probably a dumb question, but it was one that came to my mind after venturing off into the sprint n2 forum. thanks!

Actually, I was reading up this morning about AT&T ROMs on the Verizon Note 2 and it is not only doable, but also works pretty well. When done from what I just said (Flashing AT&T to Verizon) you are obviously locked out from Verizon and 4G LTE but if you have an AT&T or any GSM SIM for that matter it will work. The only real issue is GPS not working, for some reason our devices don't like the GPS setup from any ROM's other than Verizon's.

I just purchased my S5 yesterday (April 17th), but I regret selling my M8. I thought the S5 would have more dev support and more ROM's than M8, but I guess I was wrong. On the T-Mobile M8 Android Dev section there is a GPE ROM and a RUU to covert the M8 to stock android.
I was expecting like 5-10 ROMs on the S5 already (as was with the Note 3), but I guess I'm wrong? Or can I flash ROM's meant for the non T-Mobile S5?
That's my main question.
Where are the ROM's?
wow really?
Impatient much?
You do realize that this phone came out less then two weeks ago.
And I am sure that not that many people have jumped to this since there were so many people that develop that are already on the s4 and the s5 is not that much of a upgrade for them to switch.
Not to mention that the AT&T and Verizon cariants are not rootable yet and more developers are typically on those networks to begin with.
Give it a little more time for the others to get root and developers to move over and get used to the different setup and roms will come.

Well just saying the M8 has more ROM's and even stock android flashability (made that up )
Seriously though, there is a GPE ROM for M8 that allows you to flash back to stock still, and the RUU Google Play Edition, which essentially converts the M8 on T-Mobile (and other carriers) to a GPE version of the M8 permanately.

I haven't tried it, but I would assume it works fine as long as you keep the T-Mobile firmware. There is some discussion in the general thread about people running the international ROMs as well as in the international forums, look around. I think we'll start seeing custom ROMs built from the T-Mobile base sometime next week at the latest, I'm content with root for now.

I'm thinking of upgrading as well, but coming from carrier specific devices (the Samsung Infuse, ATT only, and the Nexus 4 on Simple Mobile), there hasn't been different variants. So the T-Mobile devices is compatible with ROMs built for the international variant? Would the kernels for it be compatible as well? The only thing that would be lost would be the carrier specific additions such as built-in VOIP? No differences in partition layout?

Just flashed the Echoe ROM for my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5, and I can confirm I'm NOT getting 4G LTE. I'm only getting HSPA+
Not sure if I need to add an APN or what, but wanted to let you know that 4G LTE does NOT work immediately after flashing that ROM.

It did flash? Wonderful! Please let me know if the issue with 4G is kernel/radio based, or just due to a missing/selected APN.
Many thanks in advance,

APN shows T-Mobile, so I believe its just a kernel/radio issue. It's up to you if flashing a custom ROM is worth no LTE.

You need to verify the T-Mobile APN. Maybe the settings are not for T-Mobile LTE. I had the same issues after my flash but I am on AT&T. Just make sure the APN settings match that of T-Mobile LTE. Carriers have more then one APN.

I agree, but the M8 Android Dev thread still has more threads, when it had a locked bootloader! You can argue since its easy to unlock etc, but come on. I remember when the S4/Note 3 had dozens of ROM's in like 2 weeks.

Did you flash International S5 ROM on ATT S5? Which ROM did you use? How is the experience? Is everything working?
Thanks in advance

I am currently using AllianceROM. It works great. No issues.
I seriously doubt that since there is no root for the AT&T variants
