Does anyone know if there is any work on porting this lock screen effect to the s4?

Its seems with the S3 that apps such as Rdio and Spotify no longer have lock screen audio controls. Is there a way to get these back? Is it they are just not compatible with the S3s lock screen?
I'm sure I used to have an app that enabled lock screen controls with Android 2 but I can't find it now?
i'm using tmobile SGS3
whenever i set my lockscreen picture to black-background image, the borders of the screen gets whitened out, almost upto the middle.
is this normal?
i only see them in lockscreen with wave-effect

My S3 seems to fade in the screen after unlock, is there away to remove this effect?
I have a Galaxy S3 running CyanogenMod 10.2
When my screen is dimming, the transistion of the screen that is getting darker is not very smooth. It looks like it goes in steps, not in one step, like on iOS.
Is there an option to change this?
