These settings won't work on my att one xl on the metro network. Gives me a message besides the network switch that says incorrect apn settings.
Thanks!

Thank you, that did the trick for me. I just moved from Straight Talk to MetroPCS. The rom I am currently running on my phone had MetroPCS APN settings built in, but they were different. I assume they must be for the old cdma network. In any case they were working for me, but LTE was only pulling 2 mbps. I changed to your settings, and speeds are now back to where they were on Straight Talk.

Besides this, I also had to enter an APN Type (HTC One M7):

Update on metroPCS APN settings.
Hello, all:
I just set up two phones on metroPCS, one of them a new Kindle Fire phone for my wife, and my Samsung S4 GT-i9500 [PhoenixROM]. I tried utilizing the settings supplied on the phone after the initial configuration; Internet connectivity from the phone did not work. I tried the settings listed here, but I continued to experience the same issue.
After dealing with these not working, I ended up taking a look at my wife's phone, which had worked without any problems immediately after setup. Upon comparing her settings to the settings listed here in XDA, the one big difference I had noticed was on the APN setting. When I changed the setting to what she had, it started working immediately.
If anyone is having a similar problem, change the "APN" setting to: fast.metropcs.com vice fast.tmobile.com (or fast.t-mobile.com); it should take care of the problem. HTH someone like the site has helped me.
Hello, I am in the same boat and the above posts have not worked for me. I recently bought the Elephone P6000 so it didn't come with any APNs by default.

Name should not make a difference (whether MetroPCS, metripcs or LeroyJenkins, it's just the name)
Fast.t-mobile.com and fast.t-mobile.com both worked for my M8 (fast.metropcs.com did not anymore after Lollipop upgrade), however, since you are not using an HTC One, try using the fast.metropcs.com APN as suggested by OS2Tech. Good luck!

Okay first off I can CONFIRM THE REZOUND IS A GLOBAL PHONE (lets just get that out of the way).
EVIDENCE
Okay so I purchased my HTC Rezound form an American eBayer and he shipped it to me just after Christmas (i live in the UK), i was already under the impression that the Rezound was a global phone but just before it arrived everyone was saying that it doesn't have the GSM or WCDMA networks which made me sad
But when it arrived i thought i would try what i thought would work, sooooo i place the sim card in the phone and powered it up. After setting it up i went to the phones dialer and dialed: *#*#4636#*#* and then went to phone information and changed the network type. I was shocked to find that there was many options including 'GSM only' and 'WCDMA only' . So i switched the phone to WCDMA only and the phone picked up signal and showed T-Mobile in the notification bar .
(I got my data by adding the T-Mobile APN and then going to wi-fi settings>>advanced and changed the time till wifi switches to mobile network to 15 mins (then waited 15 mins))

Problems (That i think can be fixed)
Okay so the only two problems are:
1. I can receive and make calls, can use data (internet) but i can only receive texts and not make them?
(When i try to send a text, as soon as i press send the network signal shuts off and i have to press no when a message appears that says something like "would you like to try and send text when phone has signal?")
Anyone know how to fix? Is this T-Mobile UK SMSC Number?: +447958879879
I HAVE TRIED:
1. Changing SMSC number under: *#*#4636#*#* (there is no option in the HTC Mms.apk (Messaging app))
2. Changing to/installed HTC Sensation XE's [SENSE 3.5] Mms.apk and still same problem (also made sure the SMSC number is correct)
Screenshot to show texts not sending and network stops: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B0U8I71u15EGYTFhMGEwZmMtMzYwZi00MTdkLWI2MGQtYmIxMDljNGUyZDgy
2. And the other is just to get rid of the lockscreen message that says "This SIM card is from an unknown source".
TEMP FIX (Until Reboot): If the ROM you are using has the tweaks menu (MikROM) then you can go to Miscellaneous Options>>>Choose Lockscreen Style and select 'Android Lockscreen', Then Restart or Hot Restart and change the option back to 'HTC Sense Lockscreen'. THIS WILL REMOVE THE 'This SIM card is from an unknown source' message, but this process must be done every time your battery dies or you turn off the phone.
(still better than the ugly message every time you turn on the phone screen).

So please could some DEVS work on this cause this is another great advantage to the Rezound that was let down by the Verizon tailored HTC Sense.
This
You just need the exact right apns for sending texts. I hope you deleted the Verizon ones?
I'd do an APN backup of an htc t mobile phone, then in the rezound delete apns, then restore apns
I use apn backup and restore
Mb you've already done exactly this but thought I'd suggest. Need to customize a few apns for your phone number, mb didn't customize all of them? Our if Verizon one still sits there?
Possibly need a copy of an mms.apk from a gsm phone because some settings built into the Verizon apk may make it fail to send
I did delete the verizon ones, and i only filled in the T-mobile APN like this and left all other settings blank:
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
Username: user
Password: pass
Dude, seriously.... DOES NOT BELONG IN DEVELOPMENT!
Back in my experience with AT&T, there was a phone number for the messing center that needed to be input. Otherwise, you couldn't send text but could receive them. Do you'll need 2 things ... the phone number to your carrier's messaging center and the place to input it in your phone.
I did a quick look and couldn't find the field. But that's what you're missing.

No, it does not belong in development. Development is for WORKING MODS/HACKS/ROMS/KERNERLS/ETC, not to talk about or request Developer help. Hence why it was moved.
I think it is funny that people think that the Devs are locked in the development forum and can't get out. That the only place to reach them is in there . Yes they can and do read other forums!

I was just in Japan. VZW rep told me my phone would work out there. Got there and could only receive SMS and Calls, couldn't make SMS or Calls. Two other people I was out there with had no problems with there VZW iPhone and LG android.
Global support told me that the 4g LTE sim can't authenticate on the CDMA network or there. I was able to get $40 off my bill for my troubles ....

That would be because you used the VZW sim which only works on certain frequency. They are talking about unlocking the sim and using one that authenticates for GSM/WCDMA/LTE.
The MMS.apk app you have is the CDMA version of it so no you will not have access to the SMS center number... You need to have the mms.apk from a GSM sense phone to have access to that settings, but even then you will probably run into problems.
Problems like.. Resolutions issues, FC's ... It not working at all
OR... Its a universal apk and a simple edit with in one of the XMLs would enable that options or something..... Food for thought

I did try and download an app call SMS Pro (or something like that) and it had the option to change the SMSC number but my text still cut the network out as soon as i press send
try pushing the mms.apk and such from a european sensation sense 3.5 rom. Then reboot into recovery and clear the cache and dalvik cache. Maybe that will work for you.

$649 USD. $149 is with a 2 year contract for new Verizon subscribers.
I am trying to switch from Verizon to Pageplus so I need to get rid of my LTE phones. I picked up a couple of US Cellular Mesmerize phones for cheap and I was able to get them working on Page+ by:
Using Odin to flash the Verizon EH03 ROM
Finding the SPC of the device (I used method #2 on this page)
Dial ##3282# and enter CDMA Directory #, MIN #, SID #, and change the SPC to 000000 in the Advanced section.
Dial *22890 and the phone programs successfully
The problem is that I do not want a GB phone... I have tried a multitude of ROMs (CM7.2, CM10.1, SuperNexus 2.0, Hacksung Build2, etc.), but when I flash them I loose data and MMS functionality. If I try to dial *22890 I will also lose call and text functionality.
I can't figure out what is changing by applying a different ROM... ##3282# does not work on any of those ROMs so I can't tell if it is one or more of the options in that menu that I need to fix.
I am desperately hoping that one or more of you will be able to help me out so I am not stuck with a GB phone w/ Bing on it!!

Unfortunately ##3282# will not work on any CM based ROMs (it's part of Verizon's stuff)
Once you have set your min # & activated with pageplus you should be good,,,
*22890 tries to reprogram things.
Have you tried any of the 10.1 ROMs without doing *22890?
At most maybe a *22891 which updates only the prl.
If it's working fine on the Verizon EH03 ROM the maybe once you put an 10.1 ROM on there you might need to do an esn swap with pp service to an old phone (one of the other mesmerize on Verizon EH03 ROM would be fine ) then back to the fassy (er: mesmerize) that reconnects things from the pp side.
if you need help with that pm me i can do a swap for you.

This is a completely serious question - why? Unless Samsung is stupid and gave two different hardware configurations the same model number (SCH-i500), the two models are exactly the same from a hardware standpoint. I know Page+ doesn't have an issue with me using the phone, when I gave them the ESN they just said that they couldn't guarantee it would work. I am new to this though, so am I missing something or are you just letting me know that I have created more work for myself in not buying a Verizon branded phone?
Thanks!

But did data and MMS work properly on the GB EH03 [ Verizon goodness ] ROM?
Sorry,,, Yes. Doing an esn swap is like this ::
your current phone [ I'll call it A ]
and an alternate phone that can be activated on pp [pageplus] [ I'll call it B ]
or alternately,,, an old alltel flip/non-smart phone { I'll call it C }
currently you have "phone A" active for use the pp network,
starting with both phones turned off,,,
basically you contact pp tell them you would like to activate "phone B" [ yes, with the ESN ] now onto your plan,
once that is complete
then power "phone B" up with [ Verizon goodness ] ROM and make the test call,
once all it good, power off "phone B"
contact pp tell them you would like to activate "phone A"onto your plan,
once that is complete
then power "phone A" up with [ CM10.1 ] ROM and make the test call,
You may have to do the *22890 and let it reboot or manually reboot, but it should all work after that.
::: alternatively instead of going phone:: A -> B -> A ,,, you may go:: A -> C -> A
hopefully that didn't sound too retarded

exactly a Mesmerize with any Verizon style rom {CM7/9/10] should work as though it is a Fascinate on the pageplus network.
Some other phones would have to be "flashed" to do this but the sch-i500 should not need anything extra

Yes. However... I reflashed the Verizon EH03 ROM with Odin last night, and I could only get 1X. I swear I have been able to get 3G before...
I then went through the process of flashing a 10.1 ROM (I think I used SuperNexus) and tried *22891 as you suggested and it sounded like the phone programmed successfully. After a reboot the phone shows 1X sometimes, but it doesn't seem to be reliable enough to do a speed test or load a web page. I am going to try the ESN swap today if I get a few moments at work.
Thanks!!

Just use the voice dialer app... Speak "" Open APNs""
You'll also need to press menu and save after you have changed the port to 80
You may also have to set the regular port in there to 80 as well, i don't think it would hurt anything,,, mine is not set though on either and works fine... But it sure ain't gonna hurt to try.

Thanks for checking! The ESN swaps have not worked. I even tried an actual Verizon phone (my wife's old LG Vortex), but I still haven't gotten any data or MMS on a Jelly Bean ROM and I am only getting around .13 Mbps download when I have the stock Verizon ROM on. With my wife's Vortex I am getting 1.28Mbps...

You may also have to set the regular port in there to 80 as well, i don't think it would hurt anything,,, mine is not set though on either and works fine... But it sure ain't gonna hurt to try.

Thanks! There were no entries so I have to create one. Any idea what I should put in the APN section? I can't save it with that field blank...
Edit - I found this (https://sites.google.com/site/smartphonehardreset/pageplus-android-internet-settings), but still no joy...

Thanks, but I still get nothing...
I also noticed that my wife's old Vortex had no APN entries, but it is able to connect to Page+ just fine (and much faster than the fassy w/ the Verizon ROM)
I don't get it at all...
Well I guess I give up on getting anything other than the Verizon ROM (EH03)... This will at least tell me that I have 3g...
Any ideas why the speed is so slow? I can barely get 100kbps. I have a friend in town w/ an actual Fascinate and he is getting around 530k.
My gf bought a Verizon S4 last week and is now here in The Netherlands trying to get this Dutch Vodafone SIM card working. It accepts the SIM and it makes calls/receives texts. But data isn't working because the correct APN settings can't be added.
I set the network type to GSM (or Global, doesn't change anything), restart the phone, but the necessary options are unavailable. There's a big + button in the bottom of the APN list to add APN's, but it's grayed out. Same goes for the only option visible under the menu button (something like 'Reset to defaults').
Any ideas?

Interesting. I use a UK sim and it works OK. Verizon doesn't enable the APN function when there's a Verizon SIM inserted.
I wonder if there's a similar block for Vodaphone since Verizon owns a chunk of them.

Anyone know if I can change the APN some way now that I've rooted the phone?
7 months later and my girlfriend has moved to the Netherlands last week. Obviously she wants to use her Verizon S4 with a Dutch carrier permanently now, but even with the latest firmware there's still no way to change the APN settings and it's pissing me off.
Another cry for help, I hope there's a way to fix this!

There's a few things to try.
1. Try installing an APN application. "Offline SIM APN Database" shows up in some Google searches.
2. It may be that using a custom ROM will allow you to bypass that lock.
3. Try some other carrier's SIM to see if it unlocks the APN settings. The lockout happens when there's a Verizon SIM installed. I suspect it also happens with Vodaphone SIMs.
have her reboot into safe mode wipe everything then install the stock rom. i did the same , same phone and there is no trouble adding my apn from another carrier.. its completely stock..

The APN application isn't able to set APN data anymore since JellyBean. When I pop in the Vodafone SIM it says it's a Verizon SIM but shows Vodafone as the carrier. That's kinda weird.
I could install a custom ROM, but I'd rather not honestly. It's not my phone. That'll be a last resort.
I currently don't have a SIM for another carrier available and would like to use Vodafone anyway, since they have the plan that best fits her needs anyway. I'll see if I can pick up a cheap Prepaid SIM later.

I think your only resort is to talk to Vodaphone and have them tell you what to do.
The lock happens when the firmware on the Verizon phone detects a Verizon SIM. Vodaphone is Verizon,so it's supposed to configure an APN by default with the right settings (it's disabled to keep you from messing with it and causing the phone to fail.) I think the APN data is stored on the SIM and loaded when the SIM is recognized, so perhaps your Vodaphone SIM just needs that loaded.
So, two choices: get Vodaphone to fix it (they'll probably tell you that the phone is not supported), or buy a new phone to use with Vodaphone.
You're lucky that it didn't just activate the standard VZ plan in the Vodaphone area - $20.48 per megabyte.
I bought a €10 KPN prepaid SIM just to test it, and I'm able to add the APN now.
Unfortunately, this will probably mean I can't get a Vodafone subscription because of Verizon's messed up "security". Glad I don't have to deal with that company again...
I don't see Vodafone be able to help since they have no connection to Verizon whatsoever and obviously can't change anything about the phone either.
Thanks for the help guys!

its not letting me save it?
I'm in the same boat. I was able to get 4G working but not 3G so everytime i lose 4G i lose data no 3G..
Could never get Hands Free Activation to Work.
From what i've gathered is that you need to get the phone back to its original state last previous activation sprint with Original sim in the phone.
They say it's not good to reset phone ##786# or ##72786# as it changes the files to a non activated phone ?
( So i rooted the phone installed a custom recovery did a full backup. wiped and formated pretty much everything rebooted in download mode )
( I have the original sim that use to be activated on this phone. I fired up odin and flashed the original tar that matches my rom OC5. )
( After booting up and going through the setup handsfree still don't work and now lost 4G and Talk and text. )
Is your phone booting up with sprint 4g logo. Or do you see just the samsung logo then your phone is most likely not provisioned to any carrier
I tried everything i even flashed it manually in DFS. Called boost took longer to figure out how to connect to them through there 2 hour menu. That ending up being a waist of time.
What i think might work is a good working carrier folder that was activated but has not been reset .
Could anyone provide a carrier folder located in the root of the phone. This might fix the problem not sure
Any Help would be great ... Thanks
That is exactly what my problem has been and I've tried everything I got calls and texts working but no data. I know carrier is messed up because it shows either Samsung or chameleon instead of boost or sprint. I have odined back to complete stock and still no data... any help please fellas

I was able to get my 3G Data back and 4G . I copied over the GS4 Carrier files and added this apn.
The note 3 carrier files did not work for me ... but the GS4 files did.
As for hands free activate i just froze it in titanium.
I didnt even bother trying the HFA everything is working fine ( Leave it alone if it's not broke )

I'm assuming the reason why he did that on an s3 sprint or boost phone is because they are cdma only phones and he was able update your profile 2 setting . I thought changing the esn on a note 3 will break cert file. I could be wrong.
I'm thinking what he did was used your note 3 esn on the s3 and OTA your info to that phone then he was able grab your profiles and then store them in the note 3 using cdma/DFS ..
I was only able to get my 3g and 4g working going through apns attached to the sim card. my data profile on the phone is wrong it still shows the last person's profile. so when ever i pull the sim card my data will not work.
It should still work in 3g without sim ..
I have an s3 boost phone I'm going to try this tonight.
Do you have a sim card in your phone?.
Yea sim card is in..and you know sometimes my 3g doesn't work..but lte works great but i m not always getting lte. But my network says boost mobile
Can I use the APN settings posted in here ? It would boot up with the boost mobile logo but I'm messing with it and lost it now boots up with sprint logo.. thanks for the info

Yea u can use the apns here .. I setup 2 apns under ##data# one using the Bearer eHARPD and the other LTE .
as for boost mobile boot logo . There's 2 things you can do. Install GT App apk ( Not sure if this is still around? Search ) in the app make sure mps_code , sales_code are set to BST or change it from SPR to BST.
or you can go in the root of the phone system/media and rename the BST_ files should be 3 files to SPR_ .

Hey guys, I like some of you had suffered from a broken LTE radio from the last security update which was November security patch. This has been driving me crazy the past couple of weeks. LG has acknowledged this as being a known issue and is instructing people to simply switch from GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto to GSM/WCDMA auto which does restore connection. This simply is not good enough and we cannot possibly be expected to settle for barely 3G speeds and just crap signal until they get their butts in gear and fix this. Anyway enough blabbing because realistically you just want the fix.
Below is the response LG has given which acknowledges the issue but by no means is an ideal fix.

So the goal is to get our Preferred network mode set to LTE/CDMA which currently is not an option. So we need to make it an option manually.
So below I'm going to list all the things I've done. Some may not have actually been needed so I'll update and edit this accordingly based on feedback and thread participation. This takes about 5 minutes of messing around to make it happen.
It's not a bug it's a feature:
There is one known issue that I haven't tried to fix yet but it really isn't that big of a deal. Doing this seems to kill your voicemail shortcut when you open the dialer and long press 1. When you do so it does try to dial voicemail but tells you that your call cannot be completed. However you can access it still by simply dialing your own phone number. We're going to call this Collateral damage for the time being. I'll play around and see if I can get this working again but really not too many people leave a voicemail anymore so I'm not overly worried at this point.
If you want you can also contribute to this thread and if you find something that fixes this or notice anything below as being an extra step let me know and we can update this process accordingly. The key here is to note that these are all the steps I took to restore my LTE and it worked.
So first things first you need to tinker with activities. The easiest way to do this is downloading "Activity Launcher" .
Open up Activity launcher and let it load
Scroll down until you see Network and expand it. (you can just search for it too if you prefer)
Scroll down and select com.lge.networksettings.MobileNetworkSettingsForCMCC
Click on Network mode which may say "null"
Select the top option which is LTE/CDMA If you do not have the option of LTE/CDMA continue the rest of the steps and then move on to part 2
Directly below it select com.lge.networksettingsMobileNetworkSettingsForGLOBAL
Select Network mode (should show Preferred network mode: LTE/CDMA)
If not select network mode and choose LTE/CDMA
3 options below it, select com.lge.networksettings.MobileNetworkSettingsForSBM
toggle to the on postion: Use 4G data Network. This may take a second to show your network in the status bar icon again
Next directly below that select com.lge.networksettings.MobileNetworkSettingsForSKT
Under Network mode select LTE preferred
Done. All should be well now. Go ahead and test it out by send yourself some text messages or whatever but it should be all set now. If you mess something up do not panic you can simply reset your network settings by going into the settings app, selecting Network & internet and at the bottom selecting Network settings reset if you absolutely feel you need to.
Part 2
Open your dialer and enter *#*#4636#*#*
And see if you can change your preferred network to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL)
Under Network/Mobile networks check com.lge.networksettings.MobileNetworkSettingsForSP CS, network mode, select LTE/CDMA
Network/Network com.lge.networksettings.UPLMNEditor: choose GSM as your network preference then press the 3 dot menu to save
Scroll down to Settings and scroll way down to com.android.settings.BandMode and select automatic
Now go back to the Network activity and we're going to revisit the option that previously may not have been working. As a reminder it was com.lge.networksettings.MobileNetworkSettingsForCMCC
Click on Network mode which may say "null"
Select the top option which is LTE/CDMA
You should now be good to go!
Credits: LG for not fixing this in a timely manner and giving us the most ridiculous temp fix ever

LG did the same thing with the EU version V10. Anno. There was no solution to that. If you didn't find an LTE network, you didn't have 3G either. That's where LG service recommended it. Leave it on 3G. Don't use LTE (only problem with telecom network) Funny / sad they are not learning ..

Not for consolation. But Samsung does the same sometimes. I used to do S7. And now they are struggling with the Galaxy S10E (Vodafone network only)
It looks like the update has been pulled now. I waited because of LTE issue but I just tried to update to try the fix and it tells me I'm up to date with 10b. LG or the carriers must finally have seen the issue, maybe a fix is incoming.

HI Negan.
Sorry if it took me a bit of time to answer you.
I just wanted to try everything you post to try to fix the LTE connection à full day.
I tried my phone today for a full day and I even ride in my car for 2 hours and it looks like it's working for me.
I did the *#*4636#*#* and change the network to LTE/CDMA auto and all the other thing you wrote. My phone work all day without loosing the connection.
I will try it for a few more days and i will get back to you if everything still working fine in a couple of days.
Thanks a lot.
By the way, sorry if my English is bad but I'm a francophone (French) from Montreal Quebec and I have little problem with my english.

All good. I'm glad to hear it's working for you now. I was also a bit skeptical at first thinking maybe the signal wouldn't last and it was too good to be true but it should hold up for you. OP updated with extra steps now.
What a waste
Great phone if it worked correctly I go the following info from both LG and Bell is no timeline to fix the issue yet they are still selling the phone.

Have you used my instructions to fix yours?
Even though I was unable to change the settings for com.lge.networksettings.MobileNetworkSettingsForCMCC (it was always greyed out), it still fixed the issue so thanks a lot.
I recently started getting Proximy Error issues and when I called my guy at the cell store I have been told that the new update is coming shortly fixing the LTE and Proximity Sensor issues. Apparently the December update was released without proper testing (Xmas rush).

Maybe check Settings activity too and scroll way down to com.android.settings.BandMode and select automatic
Under Network/Mobile networks check com.lge.networksettings.MobileNetworkSettingsForSPCS, network mode, select LTE/CDMA
Network/Network com.lge.networksettings.UPLMNEditor: choose GSM as your network preference then press the 3 dot menu to save.

I've tried your fix and it seem to be just fine now with my call and my SMS. I'm glad that you've find a way to fix this problem ???
Thank you a lot! ?
It does appear that LG has fixed the issue...
Just updated my LG G8X to 10g, and there are no issues with LTE over here.

No... I was not. I got the phone with 10b installed, and just updated to 10g. 10c wasn't an option.
So on new devices this is not an issue?

I think they have fixed it but I'm not 100% sure. I sold my G8X. I simply wasn't happy with it all around.
Thanks, that's a vote for wait and see what compromises they design into a V60.
