Galaxy Tab 10.1 Battery Drain - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I ran into a problem today, the thing is, I went to business in another country for about a month without bringing my Galaxy Tab with me. When I returned the battery has been drained from the tablet and now even plugging it in for the whole day wouldn't boot it up.
I have some important files stored on the Galaxy Tab, is there anyway I can boot it up?
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried ADB?

If you think it's the battery then just buy one off eBay as I did. it's easy to crack the case open to switch the battery. The problem is diagnosing whether in fact it's the battery or something else entirely as I'm trying to figure out with this spare tablet that I have. My other tablets haven't given me so much trouble as this one has.

For battery diagnosis, you need to be rooted and have phone apk if it is P7500. Type *#*#4636#*#* and it will take you to a menu, take battery information. You will see the state of your battery.
Cheers.

I was wondering if anyone has a fix for this?

Hey everyone!
I have an issue with my phone, I had a 2 weeks vacation and left my phone home by accident so of course the battery got drained
I tried charging the phone but no matter what I do all I get is the battery charging symbol on the screen and it flashes every 2-3 seconds and the phone just got really hot when I tried charging it for 3 hours or so.
so my questions are:
1. Does anyone here had to deal with an issue like this and was able to fix it?
2. You guys know the best place to order a legit OEM battery for the ATT I777 S2?
Thanks!
It's been a couple days, have you had any luck? What have you tried (in detail) if not?

Just so you know data used quite an amount of battery. Wifi is better than data on term of battery use.

i had something similar not too long ago, and it was also happening first few days when i bought device the most:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871454
after few days my ICS and my battery made some sweet love i quess cuz i now have decent battery time.
read trough the thread, some say it really could be OS "learns" after some time about your battery (calibrates it)
some say its not that, anyway, i dident do anything and its good now.
cheers

Did you follow the advice of LexterAce in post #2 and install BBS?
If so, why not let it collect information for 5 to 10 hours and then analyze the dump? Almost always the dump can help you to find out what keeps your phone awake.
If not you could also post the dump and maybe someone else can help analyzing it. In the BBS thread are many useful tips and links about how to read and interpret the dump.
Hi, did you resolve the battery problem?
I am in the same situation, can you give me advice guys?
Thank's

Galaxy S3 i9305T Battery Issues

Hi, my wife seems to be having an issue with charging her smartphone. Over the last month or so her phone has been taking longer to charge, I have the same phone but the international i9305 and it charges allot faster. We are both using CM 10.1 custom ROM which I have just installed on her phone, prior to this ROM she was on the stock ROM JB 4.1.2 but still facing the same issue. The battery is currently at 72% charge which has taken 3hrs 8 min so far. Is anyone else experiencing the same or is her battery on its way out? :banghead:

For a better overview of what is eating the battery along with charging and discharging rates, please give a try to 'battery widget reborn' app. It will also inform about the battery health, so that you can know if you have to replace the battery. All the best bro..

Just a quick tip.
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* then go to Service Tests >>> Battery Test.
It will take some time but I think you will be able to identify if the battery is defective or its just a software problem . Hope this helps

Try installing a custom kernel that allows you to change the input current when you charge. Siyah kernel is a good kernel, increase it up to 1100ma and see if there is a difference. If it worked, the phone should now charge faster than the unmodified phone; if it doesn't, it is a hardware issue which you should take back to Samsung.
Please suggest a good app for detecting battery drain.
The original chargers for the s3 are known to be faulty/erratic...might be that you have one of those with your phone,I use my old s1 charger and USB lead, as do many, or s2, anything other than that POS they supplied with the phone!
UPDATE: thanks for all the suggestions folks, not sure what the go was but all is good now. Full charge now only takes 1hr 20 min, haven't done any thing different just doesn't take over 4 hours anymore.
Cheers.

[Q] S3 Battery Problem

Hi All,
I have an odd battery problem. My S3 will die and at times when I plug the charger in and the Battery Charging Screen comes up, It shows the battery has more than 50% life. If I unplug the charger and use it, the battery lasts maybe an extra hour but once it reaches about 6% the screen starts flickering and then the mobile network disconnects. I'm sure this is due to low power from the battery.
Any way for me to fix this or to ensure my phone is displaying the correct battery percentage?
See attachment.
Test new battery. If its not charging while you're using it while plugged in then you have a faulty battery. Don't let the power drop so it shuts down. Try and lend a battery from a friend and test it.
I have the same problem with my phone. Is it possible that this problem is caused by the custom roms we are using? What do u think? :/

How old is the battery. Power problems nearly always end in an old battery that just needs replacing
Thanks

OK well these battery's don't last forever. First thing I would do is ask a friend to lend one and test it for 24hrs. Or just buy one

New battery for SM-T520 Tab Pro 10.1

Hi, i want to get a new battery for my tab since this one is giving me only up to 5hrs SOT (i have read it should be more than 9hrs sot). So i searched eBay and there are many low priced batteries but i don't believe that they are good. I need a help where to look for an OEM or a good generic battery?
Also i found newpower 99 batteries but they seem a little expensive and i haven't found a review about quality.
If you have any experience, your help would be appreciated.
Hey.
I search the OEM Battery too. Do you find anyone?

I haven't found any online OEM battery store. I'm thinking about buying one from ebay but i'm not sure yet. If you find one, please let me know.

Have any of you replaced your battery with the newpower99? If so, how was it to replace and how is the battery performing? My Tab Pro 10.1 is starting to get less SOT - so I think I may be due for a battery swap soon.
I haven't bought it, because I improved my battery life by removing it for 30mins.

whats the point of removing it ? my wife's tabpro battery dropped from 25% to 14% then to 4% straight. not in between numbers. quite odd.
There is a thread about battery removing (i can't find it atm). It is a common problem with Samsung tablets.

This is what I purchased on Ebay and seems to give new life to my tablet. No longer do I run out of battery nearly as quickly as before.
