Does anyone use Meenova MicroSD Reader on Note 3? How about it? Thanks.
www.meenova.com
I use a 2tb wd hdd via a otg cable. It pulls all the power it needs from the phone. Note I only use this setup to change the movies I have on my sd card in the phone to much risk of unwanted disconnect if using the phone at the same time.

Micro USB 3 is split in to 2 parts. The first is the same as MicrUSB and backwards compatible. Just plug in to that part of the wider port.
Have a Meenova and used it with a Sandisk 64gb. It works.
BUT, I just have 2 issues that I didn't particularly like and made me put it away for now.
1. On my white version, the blue LED light is very distracting late at night. I emailed them asking if it was possible to disable it but they said no. My current solution is to stick stickers on all sides to obstruct the light...lol. It kinda works.
2. I was primarily hoping to use the Meenova to watch a lot of TV shows using the video player. However, if I were in the middle of a video and exited then reopened the video app, it would restart the video from the beginning. I was hoping that if I had kept the meenova plugged in, then it would still retain the video's position. This is probably a problem of the OS rather than the product.
Otherwise it does in fact work, just not for my personal needs.
p.s. my adapter is also a bit wobbly, so be careful when holding yours.

On mine, I used a black Sharpie to "paint" over the entire LED collar. That didn't eliminate the light, but it made it much dimmer and far less distracting.

As a mobile phone, signal reception and phone speaker in conversation is great, at least better than my nexus s. But the most important thing is the battery life is amazing and moto's smart action app is very handy, no need to manually switch betweet wifi and mobile data and turn off certain functions when needed, should be standard for android system!!

Reviews of phones in my opinion need at least a month of the phone being used.
People that post "reviews" a couple days after release are merely a "hands-on" video of the phone.

The portrait to landscape (vice versa) transitions?
Agreed to an extent. On my Nexus S running ICS the transition delay was 200ms and was changeable to up to 10ms.
I found that having a quick auto rotation could be sometimes frustrating because the screen would rotate when I didn't want it to, like when I put the phone down on the table.

It has NFC but my understanding is that it's not currently enabled in the stock software. Presumably this is a difficulty a custom ROM or kernel maker could rectify.

i just recently got a Nexus 6, i have had HTC and LG in the past and both of them recognized it automatically. but if you download ES File Explorer for free off of the PlayStore. insert your OTG device and open up ES, in the top left hand corner you will see the 3 lines for the drop down menu, click it and open up the section called "local" and you will see where it says USB3002 (at least thats what mine says) and click it and you will be able to see/transfer your files. when you are done go back there and hit the eject button right next to the USB button and then remove your device.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.stickmount
Allows use of a USB stick. I use a Meenova micro USB with a 64gb card. Came with a nice silicon case that attaches to my key ring.
Yup that did it! Thanks so much my friend!
Thanks griff22usmc. Downloaded stickmount previously and although it now recognized the OTG I still couldn't access the files. All is good now though. Might get that Meenova for the wife. Thanks again bud.

This is what I use, storage and both plugs built in. The only issue I am having is finding a proper file manager to use. I really dont like ES file explorer , and most of the others. I may be overly picky but most seem to not let you see thumbnails or play videos unless you transfer the file over to your phone in the first place
I too got the Sony micro otg, and couldn't use it with either the Sony app or with Stick Mount. I'm replacing it with this:

Tower1972 the issue seems to be with the Nexus 6 as the otg loads up perfectly on my wife's Note 3. Thumbnails and all.

When I tried ES Explorer, it seen the USB right away. Seems other file mangers will not unless you use something to mount it (And I tried MANY of them). After making my own thread about something similar, I needed to get StickMount, and started using Solid Explorer, and everything works peachy.

It did work, and quite well too. I'm running CM12 and have stick mount installed. In ES File Explorer, you can't open the device directly, instead use the path provided by stick mount. /sdcard/usbStorage/sda1

Works great! I'm running CM12 and stick mount. In ES File Explorer it has a way to directly access the USB device, but that wasn't working well for me. Instead, use the path provided by stick mount. ( /sdcard/usbStorage/sda1) I can create folders, copy files, etc without issue. I copied my TB and TWRP backups off the phone to the otg storage to free up quite a few GB of space.
It is a fair bit smaller than I imagined it would be too! (Which I'm very happy about.) I took a picture to give you a good idea of it's size.
Enjoy!
oops, sorry for the double replies. I closed the XDA app on my device mid-reply and thought it didn't post.
I have been using the Meenova for my Nexus 5 & 6 for the past year or so. I have the older style, not the new one with the rubber guard over it. It has always worked great, and it's inexpensive.

The Tablet Z4 with Sony's OS is definitely slow. That's the reason why I installed the custom ROM.

I wish Sony would update this - more ram, new processor, maybe better battery life if possible. Sounds like they gave up on the tablet market which sucks.
I just want a 10.1" or greater modern tablet that is waterproof, with an unlockable boot loader and some custom rom support. Unless a great announcement comes out soon, I may be going samsung and researching waterproof cases.

Thanks. Do you think the kernel helped with that? I'm interested in "updating" the software somehow, but AndroPlus isn't supported anymore. I'm already out of practice with rooting and all that and don't want to risk ruining a device that was already pretty hard to find.

I don't think so. It'll just work. If not, the 'rooting' process is as simple as these instructions, if you want to go with LineageOS, which is basically an open source Android ROM.
I have a 256GB sdcard as well and I'm fully stock and I have no issues. I haven't maxed out the card, however so I'm assuming that it recognizing the card means it works.
I've had mine for 1.5 years now. It is definitely showing its age on the latest games or a ton of Chrome tabs but otherwise it works fine for me.
I would love to have a new Sony tablet but it's pretty clear that they exited the market. So, probably at the end of the year I'll get a Sammy S4 or S5.

I am using a 400GB micro SD and will upgrade to 512GB in the next days.
I see no reason why the Controller should not support Cards up to 2TB(the theoretical max for Micro SDX) - if they will ever exist.
