THIS APK HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON A SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 (jflteatt) variant running CM 10.2. Feel free to try it on other devices but I won't take requests for specific versions of the app. I built this for my own personal use on my own phone. In all likelihood any AOSP based ROM could use this apk.
As the title states above, I decided to update the emoji parser built into the stock MMS program available to Cyanogenmod 10.2/AOKP users. After doing some searching on the web, I was able to come up with a complete PNG database of the 889 emojis iOS 6 and above users have access to.

iOS 6 emojis are represented by the Unicode Unified Emoji Codec. iOS 5 used the SoftBank emoji codec. Because this modified MMS.apk supports iOS6 emojis, the Softbank codec option under settings is now useless. This should not have any noticeable effect for the user.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Copy "Mms.apk" to your phone's SD card.
2. Using a file explorer with ROOT PRIVILEGES , move/copy "Mms.apk" to
Code:
/system/app
3. Your phone will force reboot. This is completely normal
4. If your phone hangs at the initial start screen, reboot the phone as many times as necessary to get back into CM. This is a known problem with CM itself.
This apk is of course provided as is with no sort of warranty. I'm not responsible for any problems with an individual's phone that may somehow occur (though this is near impossible). I will also not be maintaining this project on a regular basis. I am a full time student with a part time job.
Only two things were changed about this app: iOS 6 emoji images and their proper unicode encoding, and removal of the old Softbank encoding. Everything in this app is fully functional.
Distribution and inclusion in all AOSP ROMs is welcome of course! Just a nice reference as a contributor is all I need! Donations are always accepted.
The download to this Mms.apk is attached to this post.
Does this apk support dark theming in custom roms?

Nope, I'd recommend the app 8sms on the Play Store for that specific feature. The developer used my code modifications in his app.

Ok thanks. I am already trying it out was just looking at different options today trying several of them, 8sms works great but the dark theme is not quite as dark/black as normal mms with most roms.
With the release of Noto-themed emoji support in Kit Kat, I decided to post the source for anyone still maintaining 4.3 distributions.

I have had to revert back to a earlier mod due to issues with various apps created with Appcelerator Titanium not working.
Can some of you guys with various mods download "tradui" from the Android market and see if that works for you? Please report back with your findings. The symptom is blank tabs except for "Translating English to Creole", and the app seems to do nothing. A working app can perform a translate function. There are many more apps than this that use the Titanium framework, I just chose one at random.
It works on stock, but not Cyanogen 5.0.2 or 5.0.3.1 for me.
Likely to do with the kernel that the app was compiled for being different than the ones included in CM/Modaco/KingKlick/etc.
I doubt there's a solution for this until the Android SDK gets an update for those kernels and the developer recompiles and redeploys.
I could also be talking out of my ass, as I haven't used Appcelerator to build any apps yet, but I have installed it and poked around a little.

I doubt that it is the kernel. I can run it successfully on both cyanogen's 2.6.29.6 and the stock kernel, also these apps should not make kernel-level calls. More likely it is webkit since these apps make heavy use of web-rendering and javascript on the device, with a javascript to java bridge for the OS/UI interactions. According to Cyanogen's changelog he made the switch to webkit V8 on beta4, which is the latest mod that seems to work with Titanium so perhaps another change snuck in there after B4?
BTW, I have debugged both a working setup and a non-working. Pastebins are in the Cyanogen Mod thread. I wish I could provide URLs but the board won't let me.
Ah yeah, that makes much more sense. I forgot how Appcelerator did its thing.
A little help here please? If you have modded your phone please. It only takes a second.
1. Install "tradui" from android market
2. post to this thread if the app does or doesn't look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
If it doesn't look like this than it means that your mod is incompatible with ALL apps created with the current version of appcelerator titanium (the latest is 0.8.1, 0.9 is still in closed beta).
Thanks!
Apparently appcelerator knows about this but have not had time to dig into it. I have posted an issue to the appcelerator forum as well.
A friend had mentioned it to me awhile back. It seemed to be related to accessing resources via file:///android_asset. I haven't been able to spend time looking at rooted devices.

Just flashed CM 5.0.7.1 and am very pleased that Appcelerator Titanium apps work again!
Ok, guys, here's my last version of the Steelepicblue theme, it's now very different from my previous attempt. It's a mixture of different themes but the core is the Steelepicblue appearance. As I did in the past, I adapted it to my taste, but I thought some of you guys could appreciate me sharing this.
So, once more, thanks to sileshn for his themes and for porting the Steelepicblue to Cyan 6.1.2 (that was the basis of this new theme) and thanks to Team Carbon for having given birth to this amazing theme.
Notice that I tested it only on Cyanogenmod 6.3.0 (whatever release).
Apply through OR as a normal update, clear dalvik and cache.

I would have liked to add a working update to have the honeycomb market, its appearance suits perfectly on this new theme, but I haven't figure this out yet.
Hope you'll enjoy it!
EDIT: I've been trying to make the XDA Special Hellmonger Edition work on my phone without success, so I had to come back to the Cyan 6.3.0 before being able to test this. However, here's the Steelepicblue theme also for the XDA Special ROM.
I just want to highlight that I didn't test it, but the files that execute the update are taken from sileshn's themes (thanks once more sileshn!), so it's supposed to work fine: in fact, I just modified the pictures contained in the folder tmp/mm.
Here's the link for Steelepicblue theme for XDA SPECIAL:

Looks nice! I added it to the list of CM6.3 themes.
New themed markets! (version 2.3.6)
Ok, finally I managed to make the market update work.
Here in the attachment you find various updates to theme your market, the main colors are, of course, blue and black. I used the version 2.3.6 since the 3.something has become too slow and heavy for me.
If anyone wants some different colors I can provide the updates for them as well.
Bye!!!!
nice thanks!

Could you make the only status bar customize version for Mioze7Ae CM 6.3.6.2 please?
I'm using go contact and ss launcher, so i just need that awesome bar
P/S: Megaupload's owner are in jail, so i don't expect that site will come back.
P/S 2: LOL, i got two days battery with normally use in CM 6.3 and can play game, lot of RAM for music + opera mini. Thanks you guys! CM 6 is the best for XT720.
Apart from me I know there are not much Sri Lankans online here in XDA forum, but hope this will be useful to someone who is searching how to do this
Today I'm explaining a simple trick to add Sinhala,my native language to phone & with this now we can view websites with Sinhala language on our phones.

Phone must be rooted.Copy this .ttf file in rar to system\fonts, replace with Root Explorer & reboot. Now pages with Sinhala is readable
Credits go to Kalinga for creating this font
While the method you've described will work, it will wipe out support for other glyphs in Droid Sans Fallback.
Either adding the glyphs to the default font (using a font editor to add the missing glyphs) or using a FULL copy of Arial Unicode MS (over 22 MB) would be better, which should be relatively simple to obtain.
You never know what languages other Sri Lankans might need to view!

Is this module dead already? No one has confirmed that this module is working for him or her. Furthermore, no reply from the dev whatsoever!!!
Dear, KuaQ.
Matejko doesn't work on OxygenOS 3.5.4 unfortunately. Could you take a look at it? I could provide you with logs if needed.

not working with my Samsung galaxy s5 with Android 6.0.1
Tested on two previous devices on 5.0.+... did nothing. Just tried ONCE MORE, this time on 6.0.1; module still does nothing except conflicting with other ones. This is odd: no pics, no updates, no further info, no dev... therefore no interest. I mean, two pages thread with no useful info nor positive comments? What's this?

Note:- This guide only works on Latest Oxygen Os 11 Beta release, do not try it on Oxygen Os 10 it'll results in bootloop. Do not try it on Oxygen Os 10.

This guide was originally made for OnePlus 8T but with new Oxygen Os 11 it's been confirmed to be working just fine with OnePlus Nord too. There are two methods without root and with root, the later is recommended. Install them all and give all the necessary permission make them default phone and messaging app, clear cache before using them. Special thanks to Shavi_Suri for this guide.
I confirm that also call recording is working using this app with EU OxygenOS 11

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

Auto recording doesn't always work. What's the problem?
Where are call recordings stored? I can't find it...
Pfad: android / data / com.oneplus.communication.data / files / Record / PhoneRecord
Need to change dialer
thanks for the messages apk i tried like a bunch of apks all version 6(different incrementals) and neither of them worked it always said app not installed; the one you provided does install and its dark mode works, version 5 (i think 5.8, to be precise) wasn't available in dark and you couldn't make it dark through display settings; i guess its their way or the highway
anybody can confirm this works with the newest stable OOS11?
Edit: yep, all works
Can I use this on pe rom..if not than how to get it to work?
