Note 3 case UK - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Most of the threads I read are USA based so not much help to me from the UK.
I'm after a really good high protection case as I'm an electrician and need something that might withstand a bit of dust and a few knocks
Screen protector also please.
Recommendations for both would be great.
I see Spigen have a fairly decent one but pricey or am I just being right?
Thanks Neil

Same here, I went cheap for now until more choices are available / I havent decided which one i really want.
http://www.amzer.co.uk/Amzer-Pudding-TPU-Case-Black-P96624.htm £2.99 - Covers all sides and the silver frame.
Along with UltimateShield Screen Protector, fully protected Note 3 for £10ish.
I will probably go Glass Screen Protector / Metal Case in the future but now it does the job.

iLoome screenmate flex

I think I am going to preorder one of the iLoome screenmate flex glass protectors. If anybody is using or has used an iLoome product I would like to hear you thoughts on the quality of it. I saw that these same protectors were being used on other phones. From what I read they are good protectors. I just haven''t hear much of this company in the past.
Bought mines for 16 bucks. Well worth the price. It was easy to install and it's smooth as glass. Couple things to note, The sensors and the front facing cameras are covered by the glass. But i haven't had any issues with it.

I have it and it is great. Smooth as glass and haven't noticed any problems so far.
It's odd that Amazon now says pre-order. I ordered it last week and received it a few days later. It's worth the money, easy to install, fits great. You wouldn't know it was there if you didn't put it on yourself.
Very good product. I was hesitant with it being so bendy and thin. . But once it's on. . It s glass and thin.

I got the flex, and I almost wish I had gotten the one with hardness rating 9H. I mean the flex is smooth and the S-pen slides on it good, but you can tell that it isn't quite as hard as glass when you push down on the S-pen. Overall I am happy with it, and I am not planning on ordering a new one or anything.

Are you sure you're not confusing the give on the S-pen when pressed with give on the protector? The nib on the S-Pen moves when pressed. You can see this by just pressing it with your finger.
I'm curious since I'm looking at getting the flex as well.
I'm sure. I used the Note 3 for about a week without it before it came. I mean its not like I regret buying it, because it is the smoothest protector I have ever had. I am just saying that if you try to notice the difference you will notice it, but it is such a slight difference that it doesn't affect much. I would love to see if the Iloome protector with a 9H rating feels like. Bottom line, it is worth the money, but you can tell it isn't as hard as glass.

I just purchased a 9H on eBay from iLoome and should have by Friday. I will report back.
Note: iLoome is the seller on ebay and the 9H is in stock while the Flex is b/o until the 25th.

Umm, it is glass.. I just tried sliding my S Pen over my Note 3 (with Screenmate Flex) and over my S3 (bare glass) and couldn't notice any discernible difference. If it does have an effect, it is extremely minor and you would really have to be looking for it to ever notice. The main difference between this and the thicker tempered glass version is just the hardness rating. This one is an 8H and that one is 9H, so it slightly more prone to scratches than the other version (but still much better than any plastic protector). The advantage is how thin it is.
Thanks for the input. I ordered one and got it installed today. I am glad that my seidio surface case still fits. It didn't fit with the bodyguardz pure installed.
Go ahead and add a Spigen Slim Case Metal Slate and your phone will feel super premium. I ordered the 9th one still en route

How long have you had the screen protector? Iloome clearly states that the flex version comes with a coating that may be sticky or rough at first but should go away after a few days.
Just got it, I'll give it a couple days but right now is unusable

I just received my iloome flex and installed on the phone with spigen hybrid neo case..The flex has some coating so it's not smooth yet. Hopefully it should become better with use. In my opinion it's a lot better than plastic protectors. Installation has to be done slowly and precisely.. mine went perfect. I tested the proximity sensor...no issues at all..heck I even put a cheap plastic screen protector on top of the iloome flex glass to test and the proximity is working just fine..also tried a normal calling test and "Test your android"app to confirm. Well so far I am totally satisfied...must wait and see about the roughness. Pics attached..?

i'm really thinking of getting this after reading the reviews and posts on this forum
The iloome flex definitely gets smoother over time. Not as smooth as the tempered glass variants, but still pretty darn smooth. However, the flex is a finger print magnet. It's also harder to clean than the native screen or other tempered glass screen protectors I've tried.
Got the Iloome also, best protector I ever had.
Easy to install, and fits perfectly.
As mentioned, the first few days it's a bit sticky, but after a few days it's perfect.
I can't say it's a fingerprint magnet, it takes less prints then without.

Most are just tempered glass with adhesive on one side and oleophobic coating on the other. My understanding is that they put an extra layer into the rhinoshield, a plastic layer under the glass. That will absorb and dissipate impact forces.
I'm working from memory here, I think this is what their kickstand page said a few months ago. I didn't see this description today, but their current description implies it.

they also state on their site that the max hardness of there products go up to 3h..sounds outdated and over priced when the avaverage tg screen protector around the same price has all those features + a hardness avg of 7-9h...for example i am using the mime feather glass on my note 3...free shipping plus you can add an aluminum button for 1 dollar on top of that.

Thanks for the info bros. I am now considering getting one for my Note 3 but not sure which brand/company should I choose. I am looking at SPIGEN again since their support is finally catching up with complaints and they seem to be redeeming themselves. I just checked out mime and it looks great as well. Any more suggestions and if so which is/are the ones you recommend (wonder is someone has done a youtube vid comparison)

I have the Mime and love it. There are no signs of bubbles or lifting edges, and it feels great without the extra button. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it as much with the extra button. The only thing about it i don't like is the wide cutout for the speaker plus sensors.
There are cheaper models that seem to be the same as the Mime at a much lower price, but if I picked a new one today I'd probably get the Rhinoshield.

Get the Spigen Glas.tr. It's solid. I have it and am really surprised at how sturdy, clear, and responsive it is. No smudges or scratches either.
I have the mime featherlite and love it. Thin and strong. No button needed (although i put on one for fun)

i am quite surprised there haven't been threads with people experimenting with glass protectors and plastic protectors on their own. either way it's redundant but on the other hand can extend the longevity of the glass protectors if having glass isn't your number one priority.

Love the feel of the note 3 but think I should protect it

Got my note 3 a few days ago and I'm loving it. I love the feel, the leather back, the slimness. It's great. But I feel I should be protecting it somehow.
I went for an official S View case but it turns out it's not official and i'm not sure I want to spend £50 on a case that doesn't offer full protection.
I've had a browse but can't seem to find one that would not effect the profile of the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions
Thanks.

Dunno about slim cases (I have a UAG), but I'd definitely recommend a tempered glass screen protector. Especially if you were interested in getting the authentic S-view case.
I bought an $8 eBay protector recommended in the tempered glass screen protector thread and have been very happy with it. Cheap way to keep your screen scratch free.
The problem I've found with screen protectors is that I can't apply them for them life of me. They always bubble or get fluff stuck under them.

Try the tempered glass protectors. I used the MIME Ghost Glass for my S4 and i just got one for my Note 3. It just got here like 30 min ago. IF you get one, you don't have to worry about bubbles, they come out on their own in like an hour or 2. Just apply it in a bathroom after running the shower with hot water to get a touch (NOT a lot) of steam in the air. That pulls all the dust particles out of the air as you apply it.
As for the cases, I agree. I like the feel of the Note 3 naked. I also got a case that makes it actually feel more slippery. I love the case as i had the same for my S4 but it is more slippery. I picked up the Spigen Slim Armor case in the metal color.
I have a bumper case, just the frame around the phone. My phone already fell out from the pocket of my pants, when I was changing (frankly I thought I had the phone in my jacket, otherwise would be more careful) onto the wooden floor from about 4 feet and I think I would have already some type of damage, if it wasn't for the bumper case. I like my phone very much, therefore having it in pristine condition is more important than anything else.
Something like this:

Caseology, Spigen, and UAG are the only way to go for cases.

This is going to sound odd, but in order to get a flawless application of your screen protector . . . do it in the bathroom. I always run the shower as hot as it gets for a few minutes prior to trying to apply the screen protector to let the steam pull most of the dust particles out of the air. I also line up the screen protector prior to removing the backing and tape one side so that it functions like a hinge. This way once the backing is removed you do not have to worry about lining up the protector and it basically applies itself from the taped side.

Question might be lame but just to make sure - Can tempered glass be removed if needed or once is applied/glued thats it ?
It will just lift up. No residue left really. Think of it as more sticky and does not bond like a glue. Until you crank one and have to remove it... It's kinda hard to describe. But it comes up as easy as it is to put down
Ordered it. Should be here soon. Do I still need a screen protector with it do you think?

just want to ask something about tempered screen protector. i just bought the spigen glass tr screen protector and had applied it successfully on my note 3 just having one little lint underneath but i dont care too much about it as it cant be seen when the screen is on. but i want to ask is tempered glass has any side effect to my screen ? such as reduce the screen sensitivity as i heard from someone that using tempered glass has negative effect. is it true ?
I haven't noticed any sensitivity issues. To be fair, I put the protector on only a few days after I purchased the phone, but I honestly never noticed any ill effects after installation.
On my S4 or this phone I've never had sensitivity issue with either phone. The Spen works flawlessly with THE MIME Ghost Glass (is only 32mm thick as to Spigens tr glass which is .40mm thick)
Well my case turned up and I love it. Such a well made product.
It makes my phone look kind of Storm Trooper like. I wonder if I can get a vinyl for the front.

Seidio OBEX Note 3 Case - Now Shipping!!

Just a heads up that the Seidio OBEX cases will supposedly be available before the end of March.
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSWSSGT3-BR
For 80 bucks I'm expecting a lot.
A WHOLE LOT.
On my list!!
The Note 3 does everything I could ask for, but Sammi dropped the ball by not making it at the least, water resistant. The S4 Active showed that they could have, and the new S5 is rumored to come standard with IP67 (3' for 30 minutes)
I won't likely upgrade to the Note 4 - I can't see it having anything that spectacular over the 3, so a good protective case that adds true water/dust protection would be perfect.
My only concern with the OBEX is the clear screen protection material they choose to use - most plastic screen protectors are poor at best, and get progressively worse over a very short period of time . . .
Cheers'
Dan

I had both for my S3. I'd say they both add a considerable amount of bulk but it looks as if Seidio cut back a little for the Note's model based on the pictures, but of course I could be wrong. I think Seidio was a little more bulkier than the Otterbox, though. I feel its justified due to the simple fact that the Otterbox merely covers ports while Seidio has to ensure they're weather proof as well. In any case, I'm constantly refreshing the Seidio page daily waiting for the release. Must be getting close because they added 6 more pictures about 2 days ago.
I will say with the Seidio case I had more complaints about people being able to hear me clearly on the phone and it muffled the sound a bit on the ear piece, too so I resorted to bluetooth for calls. It seems that the longer my S3 was in the Seidio case, the farther away if got from the screen (mere milometers, I'm sure) but it did effect the responsiveness of the touchscreen. When you first put it in it was pretty responsive but still not as good as a stock screen. I'd love for them to release a model similar to the nude Lifeproof case for the S3... which I saw today they are now selling at Walmart.

I wouldn't say it's ugly, just horribly priced.
The OBEX for the iPhone 5 was terrible (audio and earpiece issues and the flimsy port covers was a total letdown). I'd stay away from the OBEX line and hope Otterbox creates one for the Note 3.

If the cheap Chinese cases can have gorilla glass, why not this case? Seriously the plastic screen cover with 4H rating will get scratched to bits, for $80 I expected better materials.....
Definitely want one but the price is an absolute killer.
Is there any chance of the price going down? Maybe after it starts selling on Amazon? I would get it if it's in the $50~$60 range, but $80 is an overkill.

Even non corning tempered glass would be better than the soft plastic they are using here, 4H scratch resistant? Very poor, and for $80? No thanks!
High touch sensitivity drains battery faster. Shouldn't have to turn it on. Also, you are purchasing a waterproof case, not a crappy plastic screen protector. A whole case and holster clip if I am not mistaken.
If it lives up to its quality and name, 80 is well worth it.
Also, if you Crack a glass screen protector on a waterproof case... Guess what happens... It's no longer water proof.

Haven't noticed a significant drop in battery power with high sensitivity on, and decent glass protectors will have layers embedded within them, so it's not inconceivable that it would be able to hold its waterproofing if broken, plastic punctures easily too....
They could have used something better than 4H plastic is all I'm saying, especially at the price point they want. I wish lifeproof made a case for the note 3, I'm sure one of their designs left the screen bare but was still waterproof!

Spigen Mini Review

The Spigen Ultra Hybrid case is well constructed like all of their other products. The case features a clear back and TPU bumper. Spigen claims that the back panel has a scratch resistant coating, which I found not be very effective. I have had the case on my phone for about 4 days now and there are noticeable scratches on the back already. Other than that big pitfall, the case is great. There isn’t a lot of added bulk to it, and it looks nice on the phone. The case itself is very slippery with the TPU giving you minimal grip. I am happy with the appearance of the case, but I might have to contact Spigen about their claims that it has a ‘scratch resistant coating’. I did not notice any difference compared to a regular clear plastic case which scratches just as easily.
Now we move onto the Spigen Slim Armor case. As with their other slim armor cases this one does in fact add some bulk to the phone. The feel is nice, but the edge where the plastic back meets the TPU has a sharp feel to it that I did not experience on my Note 3’s slim armor case. The one nice feature is the large cut out for headphones and the small TPU above the volume buttons that prevents your finger from sliding onto the camera lens. This case will more than likely be my daily driver because it protects the phone rather well.
Both of these cases feature a small 0.1mm lip that keeps your screen off whatever surface you may rest it on. This of course is assuming that you place your phone face down. The cases also accommodate the Spigen Nano tempered glass screen protector as can be seen in my pictures. I hope that Spigen continues to improve their products and comes up with a better coating to resist scratches on their Ultra Hybrid cases.

Thing about hybrid cases is the softer inside cases starts loosing shape if you have a phone that gets a lille hot. It happens with my neo hybrid on the s4.. Just under the camera where the processor sits there's a bulge. Its because it gets hot near that area and now the back isn't flush but has a bulge and let's dust in through the camera cutout. So instead of protecting my phone the back cover is now scratched to bits. But the g3 slim armor case doesn't look like it will have that problem as the back plate covers most the back.

Any info they will make a version without antena hole ?
Just received email from Spigen
They probably will make the not-with-hole version
Supcase makes the same case as this, without the antenna cutout. Based on another user's feedback on one he got for his g3, they have a great fit. They also have good reviews for their other cases on amazon. I ordered one in clear/gray.

Is the lip enough high to protect the screen of G3?
Does the ultra hybrid case have the scratches resistance?
And....I saw the post that Spigen have some plans to make the case without antenna outlet.

It is supposed to but due to the lg g3 being rounded it can't have feet to prevent scratches. Thus it scratches very easily o have tried 2 of them just in case the first was defective , but both scratch easily.

Yes it's the standard lip spigen has for all of the cases (neo hybrid, slim armor etc...) Its plenty to protect the screen.

Not sure where to post this, but here it is. So I've seen this question around, because I had the same question. But was wondering if Spigen had a US version of their Slim Armor case (no cut out for the antenna) for the LG G3. From pictures and information I've seen I didn't really see much. But I went ahead and ordered one off amazon anyway because I liked the design. I just received it in the mail today and opened it up, and found that it's a US version. It does not have the antenna cut out. Needless to say I was ecstatic, and figured I would post this for anyone needed such a case.
