I ran the OTA update to 4.3 on my One yesterday, and so far everything has been working smoothly great. Two things I notice however, I can't add RSS feeds to BlinkFeed, and I can't disable/remove it from my home screen either. All the stuff I've read on the One Max and Sense 5.5 said that these things should be in there, but did they just get left out of the update for the One? Anyone else notice this?

Well the update that we recieved was only to update the android version to 4.3.
It did not update htc sense version, most of the things you are talking about are in htc sense 5.5 while were still on 5.0.
I have read that htc one will be updating to 5.5 in the near future but ETA is not known!

Just wondering if anyone has anything (good/bad) to report about the OTA update. Figure this would be a good place to post those issues for the people who are still hesitant about updating. I have the 2.1 v3 non-root and have yet to update. Thanks.
Having issues with 2.1 I can't find ANY HTC widgets. Tried to reload the digital clock with the weather app at the bottom and realized the phone doesn't have any HTC widgets, only shows the android native widgets. Anybody else having this problem, got any advice how to solve this?
I just manually updated to 2.1 (Official) and now my weather app doesn't work. Widgets are ok, just opening the app causes a force close. Any way to fix this? Might call customer support tomorrow and tell them the OTA got to me and it won't work now.
From what I've seen around a reboot might fix that if you haven't tried that already

Haha thanks, but I've tried it several times. Also, the recovery doesn't work with the official update.zip. I'm assuming that it's because the versions are the same, but if it says RECOVERY then I'm wondering why it won't RECOVER like I'm trying to do now. Any other ways to reinstall the OTA?
I manually updated my wife's around 10 am today and about 3 hours ago, she started havin no sound issues. couldnt hear through the earpiece, phone vibrates instead of rings, speaker will not play volume. I have tried everything. Making sure all settings are in place like volume TTY. Reboot fixes it for about five minutes then right back to the same thing. Hard resetting now. If it still does it I'll probably take it in and demand a new one i guess...lol
EDIT: Should I have to reprogram on a hard reset after this update? Hmm somethings not right about that...
Ive had no problems with the OTA. I went from stock 1.5 to OTA 2.1
It seems that people with leaked 2.1 v3 won't get the ota. My friend has an Eris with 1.5 and just got
it but I didn't.

I don't think anyone who is running any leaked version is getting an update right now. There is an issue with the hboot versions it seems.
Don't worry, two things have been confirmed.
First the OTA will not work with the leaked ROMs installed.
Second, the OTA is exactly the same as the 2.1 leak v3.
This was confirmed on Android forum by someone that took the time to compare every single file and CRC the binaries. The only difference was that the leaked ROMs use a different bootloader to install as they did and the actual OS and apps are exactly the same so if you got leak v3 you got the OTA.
The OTA won't install because you are already running it.
if you have rooted 2.1 (test keys) and you downgrade to back to 1.5 any one if this will allow you to get the OTA update? i installed the rooted 2.1 (test keys) but never installed a custom ROM (the second half of the directions on XDA forum) and I still haven't received the update. but I was thinking of downgrading to 1.5 to see if i can get the update.
anyone having problems with live wallpapers on 2.1? or was this not included with the 2.1 for eris?

just found out about 2.1 this morning...
I'm a verizon rep for an authorized premium retailer, and one of my customers came up to me today with her eris complaining about all her contacts being gone and her album not being there... her exact words: "What happened??? I clicked the update thingy and now half my ****'s gone!" Personally I laughed slightly, then checked the software version, found it updated to 2.1 and figured the deal. Her sound is working fine, she now has a couple more widgets she wont know how to operate, and albums is now "photos", and contacts is now "People". also required a resync to get her contacts back, but now she's golden.

Quick question about TaskBar (process killer) widget. Anybody know how to program it to ignore certain processes? Like sense... I tried using it but it killed sense every time. Along with mail and the weather process, which I don't care so much about, waiting for sense to reboot every time is a serious pita though...
I previously had 1.5 stock eris. I downloaded the official OTA zip and manually installed it. I had a few issues at first.
1. I had Spare Parts installed and had set my End key to first goto home screen and then lock. 2.1 did not like that setting and so my end key wouldn't do anything except turn it on from sleep and end a call until I changed the setting to just lock the phone.
2. Couple apps wanted to be updated to a new version after installing 2.1 before they would work.
3. Here is my unresolved issue - All my apps that I had installed before 2.1 no longer have write access to my SD card.
For example Astro File Manager showed my permissions on /sdcard as dr-. Reloading the card, rebooting, etc did not fix the issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling seems to have fixed the issue.
Why did this happen in the first place and is there an easier fix than uninstalling/reinstalling all my apps?
I've had the same disappearing HTC widget issue as was mentioned earlier, but a reboot (with a battery pull) didnt fix the problem. Is a hard reset my only option?
my girlfriend installed the OTA and now only the stock ringtones work when receiving a call- she set up custom ringtones for a few contacts, but if they call, the default ringtone rings.
I was running the leaked 2.1 eris rom on a MyTouch 3g and had the same issue, so i'm guessing it's not an easy fix. anyone else seeing this?
2.1 OTA back to 1.5
Hi everyone, I had many problems with 2.1 I manually installed 2.1 OTA from 1.5. everything went smooth, once running first thing i notice I click on the HTC clock weather, and it force closes, ok great, found a trick to delete the cache for weather provider, boom works, then i find out I do infact have the 50% time without signal issue, well I figured it wasn't too big of a deal, but after basically cutting my time in half going from 2 days no charge, to barely making one day, and I've heard that it would just take time as it did when first getting the phone.. which makes sense as it was the case with 1.5, week later not much improvement, so..
I would just like to comment on my experience. It went so smooth, it was in-fact easier to set back to 1.5 than it was to initially, manual install the OTA 2.1... I downloaded the MR2 file, unzipped the file, went through the computer on screen step-by-step process, Took less than 10 minutes, and of coarse as soon as turning the phone back on with 1.5 I see the OTA msg. I'm, just praying it doesn't get too annoying..
Just read Verizon is going to be pushing a new OTA update tonight (7/8/2011)... it looks like the radio is version 1.39.00.0613w. Anyone seen this radio, or should I just wait for the OTA for someone to check it out and extract it?
I'd wait and see what ROMs it ends up being compatible with and what works and how it functions!

if its like the MR2 radio, this radio won't work with older ROMs, the MR 2.5 radio was the same way but less stable.
also, keep in mind this update is also going to update sense to 2.1
notice it mentions tabbed apps in the app menu? Sense 2.1 adds this, just like on the Incredible 2 (where it sorts out the apps by downloaded, frequently used, and all
the tabbed browsing also adds an annoyance, when you scroll through the apps, its like your scrolling down by page, not in a smooth scrolling motion, kinda like page up page down on a tv guide menu

Agreed... I loaded CM7 RC1.2 just yesterday and really like it... I'm currently using MR2.

I installed the latest RUU_Vigor_3.14.605.10_PH98IMG.zip successfully but I just realize it didn't update any of the sense apps. Like the camera is the same as GB and the gallery and the calendar and etc. Any idea what happened? What should I do?

sounds like whatever you flashed wasn't the ics software. perhaps just a radio,hboot,kernel or splash
Well, I have new menus and software page shows 4.03 and 3.6 and everything new there. Settings looks different and new. Launcher is new. Maps actually is new, the voice is different. Search is new as well, it's like certain things got updated, but not everything.

What are you looking at to check if they've been updated? For instance the icons for apps like mms and camera stayed the same. Also it is quite possible that since its still a sense 3.6 rom, the integrated sense apps are still sense 3.X versions. In other words it just sounds like all the external apps that can be updated through the market got updated through the leak but any stock system app stayed at the 3.X level with the exception of the launcher

Yeah they all probably just look the same. I remember it was one of HTC's goals not to be able to tell which version of android is running beneath Sense.
Also, did you make sure to flash the RUU twice?
I just checked for Updates today and got this update: 1.27.531.8. (It was not there yesterday when I checked).
It says it's a System enhancement and bug fix update. (screenshots attached)
My phone was on 1.27.531.7 earlier.
Not sure what all things are fixed or enhanced. I do not see anything as of yet.
Hopefully the 'Back and Home button not responding always' issue is fixed.

I also got this update and could not find any info about it.
Well it does look like the 'Back and Home buttons response' issue is fixed! Normally for me the Back button would stop working like almost every minute of using the phone. Well I used it for about 10 minutes now and the Back button seems to be working fine so far!!
Earlier, just hitting the Back button a couple of times repeatedly would cause it to stop working. Now it seems to be working good. This is really great!
I have the update as well. It looks like it is not the same update as 1.29 because it is like 220mb less in size lol I wonder if we will ever get that update or if we are going straight to 4.2.2 with those updates baked in.
Capacitive buttons fixed. My screen resolution seems slightly higher. Hard to explain.

The clock widget I use appears slightly smaller in size but sharper. A lot of the blink feed tiles that had a slight blur have resized the image to appear sharper. Phone seems slightly more snappy just overall.

It seems I have uninstall some stock apps which are causing the update to interrupt...

Quick question my HTC One is rooted and I got the update but it won't update am I unable to get the update? When I try to install it just goes to Recovery and then I rest it and I get that it didn't install.:crying:

I've not noticed any difference except for the capacitive buttons. Still wish they'd fix audio notifications being sent through speakr and headphones
Too bad that the update didn't fix the Google Now location service bug . Wonder when or who is going to fix that issue.
I tried two of the 4.2.2 roms today and neither of them had the option for Wifi Calling (TrickDroid and Android Revolution). I'm not sure if it was because the ROMs are based on the international leak...
It's a fix for the dual Mic's. It helps noise canceling while on speaker phone. It may address other issues as well but that is the purpose of the update.

I just picked up this phone today. After reading this forum, checked and I have this version. Not sure if it updated while things were setting up or it came out of the box with it.
they also added sweep panorama mode.
Capacitive buttons definitely feel better, I used to have issues getting double tap (to bring up recent apps) to work properly, but now its no problem.

It's had that from the beginning.
I just received the update and when i reboot to install the update, it takes me into the recovery and the update doesnt finish. Has anybody found a way around this? Is there a way to remove recovery?
I have not seen any info about this yet. I have the Metawatch Frame and they have the notorious issue of not working with the HTC Sense BT stack or something related.
Has anyone had success getting this to work with Sense UI? I currently run CM 10 on the HTC One which allows the metawatch to work fine, but I actually like the Sense UI and the stock camera app (zoe), which i can't seem to find a solution to run on CM.
Anyone have any good mods that might work?

I was using my Metawatch Frame with several 4.3 leaks with Sense 5 w/o issue - AFTER upgrading to the newest Metawatch Manager app. All older versions of the watch app made the watch pretty useless. I also have a Pebble and Sony Smartwatch 2 that work Great with the HTC One.

Thanks, I'll try that one then too. I was trying to connect with the Community version, so maybe the stock version will work better. I like that the watch stays "on" all the time otherwise I would go for the Smartwatch 2, so I'll check that out now.

Well, no luck there wither. i tried a bunch of stock and variant Sense UI's with no luck. Something in the HTC's radios maybe are not working mice with the BTLE stuff.
If I try to connect to the watch (which it scans and sees with no issue), it either hangs and does not work, or I get an Android message that says this device needs a low energy app to work correctly.
Still trying, but losing the battle . Guess I gotta either sell my watch or live with CM 10 which is ok, but not to my liking.
