Hi Guys !
Need some help on this one. I broke my SII LCD (the touchscreen still work) and it looks like usb debugging is not enabled.
I would like to try to use some software like screencast to be able to remote control it but it's not detected buy adb (so I guess usb debugging disabled...)
My idea would be to install a rom with usb debugging enabled by default to be able to get the device detected by adb
Any idea of what rom I could use and on how to proceed ?

No you have to flash it from Recovery only no other option.

Sorry but i don't know any other app for remote management.
ONLY FOR CWM 6
try to flash it on your recovery mode
with your mind only
so close your eyes and
think that your are looking at the screen
and that you can see what there are
so to flash the rom
go volume down once and then click the power button
again power button
make sure your sd card is empty and only as the rom.zip (you don't need the gapps of course)
click the volume down button 7 times and then power button
wait 10 or 15 minutes just to be sure its flashed
click volume up and then power button so that you can go back in the menu
click the volume button 3 times that is for the wipe cache
again 7 times down and power button
and then you must wipe dalvik
and that is volume up and power button to go into advanced
and then volume down 1 time and then power button and that is the wipe dalvik option
again 7 times volume down and then power button
wait 5 minutes
and then click power button it wil reboot your device
and bam you have official installed a rom without looking on CWM 6

did u wait until recovery boots up??.well if u didn't, u have to.just hold the three buttons until recovery boots up.until the first LG Logo disappears.works for me,.
tht combo only hard resets the phone in stock recovery.
u need to finstall custom recovery first to flash custom roms and custom kernels...

i tried n press till 5 minutes but still no recovery mode...
my android version is 2.2
and my software version is 10c..
should i tried on diff software version ?? it makes any diff or not???

plug your pc into pc ..start adb server ..or simply if u have installed adb..
open a command prompt and type adb shell
then type su
then u get a # prompt then type =adb reboot recovery
Ur phone shud freeze for a while and reboot into recovery

According to me i think so that your phone is not even rooted
so first of all Root your phone using Z4ROOT (i won,t be avalable in the market find it on google.
then from the market just find the Rom Manager and use option there to install recovery select p500 and it will install clockwork mod recovery 3.1.0.0
If you need to flsh AmronRa recovery just use the zip file provided by ciaox and flash it from clockwork itself
Most important thing you have started this thread in wrong section so it would be moving very soon to general

so I just rebooted my phone, and held down home+ volume up+ power and I went to recovery mode, those are the buttons I've always used, so now I'm confused LOL that mine is volume up but people keep saying down

no its wrong dude,u might have been confused,try again with this combo
(home+vol down+power) hold it until it boots into recovery

I have smashed the screen on my S3, so I am putting on ebay to try and recoup something for it.
But u am unable to use the phone and need to some how wipe it, does anyone know how this would be possible?
Is your phone rooted and have CWM recovery?? If yes, start it in recovery and go to Factory Reset. To do it use volume button to scroll down (press it 2 times), now press power button and scroll up (press it 5 times) and finally press power button again. Job done.

just open recovery by home, volume up and poweron button
2 steps down and then 7 steps down
here's my problem,
my phone keeps on restarting whenever i reboot it.
ive tried full wipe, wipe partition and wipe dalvik cache.
ive also tried flashing custom rom via cwm and stock rom in odin which is I9100XWLS8_I9100FOPLS3_FOP
in cwm, power button isn't working..
when trying to choose a zip file, pressing power button
isn't working but touch function works well.
in odin just flashed stock rom this morning, but when it tries to boot, same problem occurs, it keeps on restarting..
i hope someone could help me ..
What you have, is a bootloop, which occurs when you don't do a full wipe before flashing a new rom..
And maybe the cwm you use doesn't support the clicking of the power button..

Maybe POWER button is faulty.Try to flash DorimanX Kernel.
i have manage to boot my phone,
turn on phone, while booting, i have to hard press the upper button of powermenu.
when it booted, i try to lock my phone (screen off) using powermenu and it wont work. powermenu option didnt showed up too..
but when i tried to screen off using the icon in dropdown toggle, it works fine.
yesterday after work i went to a technician, he said nothings wrong with it, and the only problem is the program.
but i already flashed it in stock rom and custom roms, i did full wiping to flash a clean rom.
this morning, i was thinking that the problem was the efs folder, but when i look into the efs folder in root system there it was.
i hope someone will help me..

pressing home button works fine too.. the only problem is the power button key, ive tried a keytest and it dont really work.
Does it work as normal. If you push power will it turn screen of and on? You could use twrp as It dont use buttons edit: I read power button dont work at all?? Go to a better tec.
Also that efs bit is lock screen not power button. If it was gone it would still turn screen on and off and work just no lock screen:thumbup:

when phone is on .. power button is totally not working .. but when it is off i had to hard press it until booting is finished .
thats what im thinking, going to a better techy might solve my problem .
Dose it turn the phone on and off? Does it work at any time on or off? I don't get what hard press is?

i mean long press / hold pressing the power bitton until its finished from booting ..

I forgot the pin-code to my Galaxy S2, not to the sim, to the phone.
I can't go into recovery mode or download mode, due to a broken home-button.
Is there any way I can like hack the pin, or reset the phone without having to use my home button?
Maybe by using my pc or something?

1. Turn off the i9100 S 2 phone or take out the battery and reinsert it.
2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
5. Press and release the Power button
6. Press Volume Up to confirm i9100 master reset

Man I thought it was impossible to get into download mode but you got me there!
Unfortunately I do not see the "Clear Storage" option.
The volume down button gets me into a reboot.
Volume up gets me to downloading.
Is there any way I can get into recovery? Or download something to the phone that resets it?
And eh, multitasking, that is kind of hard with no home button.
The back button gets some more use since the home button has died haha

If you want to get yourself into recovery mode try something simpler
A cwm manager app
It has the option boot into recovery

Problem is, I cannot acces my phone so I can't install apps
I'm thinking about flashing another rom, only I can't wipe cache and factory reset before doing that.
What are the risks of that? And is there a big chance of this going wrong?

Mate, if you can enter download mode then use odin to flash
I am not sure you can enter recovery mode without home button though you can with a jig
But haven't tried it
Search xda it if you have a jig

Had flashed a few hours ago, but still got asked for the pin.
Though then I had to register the phone (name, language, that stuff) and after that I was in the phone, and did not have to enter the pin.
Doing that again right now, hoping to get to settings and then get to factory reset

i got a phone which is similar to Note 2 but it is not.i want to completely wipe out and install the custom rom on this.
it has got only 2 gb internal storage
after bit of googling i copied cynogenmod 10.1 of Note 2 and Gapps on the internal storage of phone then i tried to do get into boot mode of the phone where it shows me 3 options recovery, fastboot and normal boot. when i select normal boot phone starts normally, when i choose fastboot it does nothing and on recover it takes me
android system recovery 3e
it give me few options
reebot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from SD card
apply update from cache
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache
backup user data
restore user data
when i select any options it does nothing and comes with red warning triangle with android icon and the it goes back if i press home button
being a absolutely new i dont have any clue
can someone help me or point into right direction
for installing custom rom on unbranded phone? i have found many links for various branded models of the phone but not for chines s or unbranded
i am sure currently it has 4.1.1
can someone provide me the step by step guidence to install the tools and get the custom rom?

In 3e, the select button is usually the home button, and the back button is usually the power button. It could also be the other way round.
Have you tried that?

yes i did and when i do that i can see is android logo with red warning triangle. if i press again home button the it come back 3e screen with same options

If your device happens to have the same keylayout as my other unbranded S4 clone, the keys are
Vol Up - Select
Vol Down - Scroll Down
Home - none
Back - none
Menu - none
Power - some kind of screen lock that doesn't let you push any buttons unless you press Power again
But since you mentioned something about the home button, probably it'll be
Vol Up - Select
Vol Down - Scroll Down
Home - some kind of screen lock that doesn't let you push any buttons unless you press Homeagain
Back - ?
Menu - ?
Power - ?
As you can see, there is no key for Scroll Up as far as I know.
Let me know if the keys above work.
