[Q] [Xperia Sola]Stuck on Boot Logo & CWM and Fastboot Troubles - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello everyone, posting here after a long time.
Getting straight to the business. Yesterday, I put my phone down and had a sleep. But in the morning when I woke up finding that the alarm had failed to go off, I checked my phone and was surprised to find it turned off. I tried switching it on but it won't turn on. I thought that the battery had died, so I put it to charge. But while booting up, the 5 LEDs lit up but the phone just won't go beyond the boot logo. So I just let it charge for some time and then forced restart it and went to CWM. CWM showed me numerous errors, like this while starting CWM

and this while mounting anyting or installing zip from sdcard
and this while wiping data
I tried changing the kernel using Fastboot but that didn't make any difference; instead after 3 attempts my phone was recognized as "???????? fastboot".
I'm totally stumped. I don't know what happened that my phone drained its battery and then refuses to go past the Boot logo.
So, can anyone help me out please? I was on Ultimate ROM v11 with Experimental v9.0b Kernel.
Thanks.

Try to flash Stock ICS via Flashtool! I hope that I don't need to describe you excactly what to do

@Imperial_Raj
Are you trying to make us break our necks? Rotate the images and make the reasonable size to read.
Try fastboot erase system, then try to flash.
And on more thing, were you late for work that morning?:silly:

I'm really sorry for the orientation of the images but my image hosting messed it.
And Fastboot doesn't recognise my device properly.
And yes, I was late for my school, lol.

Sadly, flash mode just doesn't work.
So what do you guys suggest? Shall I give it to Sony Service guys for a repair?

You can boot to CWM but flash mode doesn't work. how come?
If it's a hardware problem they probably will have to replace the MB which not going to be cheap.

press the power button for few seconds, until you get 4 vibrations. First one vibration and then continuous 3 vibrations. After that leave the mobile for few minutes, say for 10 minutes. And then try connecting it in fastboot or flashboot. If you can get into flashboot, just flash the stock ROM. and then boot it in to fastboot.

Well, I didn't knew what I did, but here's my solution.
I enter to fastboot mode (blue light) and flash a boot.img from a ROM, I flashed the munjenis kernel.
Then I flashed the eXperience ROM and installed it, no problem, but still stuck at Sony logo, well, after screaming because I realized I bricked my phone, I got an idea, flashed the FXP kernel and later on flashed the CM10 and it worked!
Doesn't get stuck anymore but Wi-Fi doesn't work, I think that is a ROM's bug.
You can try that.

Well guys, thank you so much for your responses.
I gave it to the Sony guys and they told me that the MB would be changed.
So, I bought a new Xperia SP and now Sola is just a show piece lying about in my house. Anyways, thanks a lot everybody.

turns out that video breaks EVERYONE's tablet, and they need to be flashed back to stock firmwar using ODIN in order to fix it
i'll see if that works
edit: never-friggin-mind, i cannot get back into recovery or download mode. period.

yes, and i can still put files on there
actually i'm pretty sure all my problems can be solved by having debug mode enabled, which would allow ODIN access to my machine as well as the possibility of ADB commands
problem is, usb debugging is NOT enabled and i have no idea to enable it with these damn scan lines happening
is there any way to "force" debugging on?
what the hell! it isn't even being recognized by adb!
->adb devices
returns no attached devices
and yet i have another window open with the tablet's internal memory visible
what gives?
Same exact thing happened to me from that video..I followed a video to unroot and factory reset and it cleared up...

wait, how did you manage to unroot it without access to download mode, adb, or settings of any kind?

with some difficulty, yes
it's tough to time though, because i have no visual feedback on the rainbow screen, so oftentimes it goes into a reboot because i held the button too long
plugging it in to charge helps this somewhat, because i can tell it's off if the charging splash screen is visible and animating
i think the general term for what i have is a "soft brick", but without access to download or recovery mode i'm not sure where to go for a fix

After you did this and returned to stock, have you been able to download the OTA with touchwiz? I had this same corrupt display problem, followed the directions from zedomax to return to stock and unroot but when I try to download the latest updates and get touchwiz it says I'm up to date (after a small 11mb update which did NOT include touchwiz).
All I want now is to be back to stock with touchwiz like I was before. :/

Hrrm, you might need to do things unofficially, surely there's a rom out there like what you want? Starburst is pretty cool, like a faster version of touchwiz

Yes I think you're right. I was wanting to try Starburst anyway which is based off the touchwiz rom. That would have what I want plus more (faster overall and over-clocking!).
What I'm not sure about is which one do I pick? From here: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyTab10.1/roms/StarBurstROM/
Or is there a newer one than those? I can't tell from the starburst thread if what's on there is newer than on that site or not...
The biggest thing I want, besides getting TW back, is adhoc mode so I can connect to my iPad 3G w/ MyWi (#1 reason for me to root anyway). I wish google would just allow adhoc stock. Apple does with iOS, I don't see why google can't.
same issue
I tried to get the overclocking installed and now I get the rainbow scanlines
I get the download option but I cannot put the hc-31 file onto my sdcard to start the unroot process.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian
NM fixed it. in order for it to read the folder I had to wait for the tab to shut itself off then turn it back on. Weird but its working

i've downloaded all the files in this topic and followed all the directions there correctly..
i have installed SEMC Flash Drivers..

can this be the problem:

I solved the problem with a very wierd way.
Hope it helps when you try.
After you've extracted and installed Flashtool;
go to your computer's Control Panel.
Open "Clock, Language and Region".
Click "Region and Language".
Choose format as English (United Kingdom); and location as United States.
Click ok and close control panel.
Now you shold be able to see loader.sin and kernel.sin files inside "Firmware Content" frame when you open Flashtool.
Same error to me...I try everything, every tool that I found for X10 but nothing help it...I also try wotan server with several different firmwares but always same error...ERROR: file header write failed!
I think that is imposible to repair without some dongle like setool...
i try to help...
1.first root ur stock rom n install xrecovery....
2.backup stock rom using xrecovery..
3.wipe data, wipe cache, n wipe dalvik cache using xrecovery...
4. install wolfbreak rom using "XRECOVERY".. When finish, put out the battery

I was having the EXACT same issue that led me to this thread. I had a custom kernal loaded so not sure if that was why I was getting "error flash aborted". Anyhow as someone mentioned here, I held down the back button until the entire flash was completed. That finally worked. Thanks!

Nope sorry mate I have two devices, that's why i assume its hardware failure because they were both flashed the same way and my primary one is fine (running FXP45)
The bricked X10 is actually from a much newer batch which is odd, you would think the first one to die would be the one i have been flashing roms on since i debranded my 1.6 rom!
The phone is beyond my help now i think because its not even getting into flash mode and neither SEUS or flashtool can see it. It slowly got worse and worse until it wouldn't do anything at all.
I have been using Wolf's tweaked GB ROM for ten days.
I solved the problem with a very wierd way.
Hope it helps when you try.
After you've extracted and installed Flashtool;
go to your computer's Control Panel.
Open "Clock, Language and Region".

X10 failure in flashing ROM
I experienced a very hard situation after an unsuccessful ROM flashing onto my x10. Flashing procession was nearly finished but error message was happened and then aborted! Since that my device was permanently unbootable at all, when press the switch button to turn it on, there was no vibration nor SE boot up logo, just a red light brinked up for a few seconds. It seemed to be permanently dead. I tried many ways to reflash ROM onto the device via SE PC Companion, SESU, FlashTool but the program couldn't detect the device nor wiring on flash mode.
The device could not be accessed at all. Is there any experts who can solve this problems, please show me and the other owners how to fix X10 in this matter upon the software; programs, and the obvious procession. That would be greatly appreciated.

blinking red you say?
try to charge your battery first, probably using a desktop charger, or another fully charged battery, and re-do flashing through either SEUS or repair thru PCCompanion.
blinking red led indicates battery power too low to boot.
if that fails, i'm afraid you have to try and see a tech

I was able to flash back to stock generic firmware 2.0.A.0.504 using this, not sure if this was the fix or coincidental. Using X10 Flash tool 0.5.3.0.
From there I have flashed the correct BB, Doom kernel for unlocked and recovery yadda yadda. The phone lives (for now...)

Not sure if its bricked !?!?!?!

Yes I could flash to a stock ROM and see what happens but are we sure that will not remove the pictures and videos?
OK I dont think that is going to be an option as my pc does not see the device attached via USB.
And when I have Odin running it cant see the device
Sudgestions?
1.It will surely not wipe photos, because you don't format the internal SD.It just removes apps,contacts...
2.look at my signature and follow my guide. If your PC can't see phone, then look for Hopper8's thread(link in guide or search on XDA)
Do you want your phone fixed or not ? I remember you from a couple of months back with that app that you refused to accept would only run on unrooted stock. And here we are fast forwarded a couple of months & again you're refusing to accept the advice/method to fix you've been given (which works & takes all of a couple of minutes; and if it doesn't work first go you look for Hopper8's 'Odin won't flash' thread).
You can either fix the phone or not. No skin off our noses either way *shrugs*

after unlocking the screen the only thing I get is the welcome screen from Fulmix ROM (xpirit presents ... fulmix rom)
after a few moments the start up wizard starts but after few steps crashes and restarts!
EDIT
I powered off, it won't start again, I guess overheated again! so I removed battery, what should I do now?
Wait for it to cool down again, then try a different kernel

You mean flash it with another rom?
I guess I try : MIUI v5 3.9.20 Unofficial Port [4.1.1]
You don't have to flash a new ROM, I just told you to flash another kernel (say: boot.img). Just choose one from Original Android Development Section.
sorry for inconvenience!
I found this kernel "fulmix.Kernel #3" (it has the same name "fulmix")
according to my situation how am I supposed to install it?
this is from the mentioned thread (which I don't understand the proceture!) :
Go into adb/fastboot directory
Put the fulmix.Kernel#xx.img in that directory
Open CMD and type: "fastboot flash boot fulmix.Kernel#xx.img"
Reboot

is adb/fastboot a directory on SD card?
I don't have a card reader now!
I forgot to mention that I followed this instruction for rooting and installing rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076675&highlight=don+t+turn+on
It's a directory on your PC, where you have to have the fastboot / adb binaries installed. Just download one of the boot.img installers to be found in ROM threads and replace the boot.img in it with fulmix kernel img.

revert back to ur nandroid backup then.. or if u dont have it then wipe data and reinstall the rom
I re-installed the same rom, the same thing happened, then I held down the power button and activated "Airplane Mode" and this time I could finish the start-up wizard!
cool rom but it fails to use sim service! (sim card service is off, no sim)
should I install another rom?
My "Desire X" has 2 sim card slots, will I be able to use them both in case of a successful rom installation? 'cause I noticed there is no option in setting for two sim services,
and I don't have a Nandroid backup.
I think my problems are due to my Desire x being ' two-sim ' !
You should have said before that you are using dual sim version of Desire X! Now your problems are obvious, because the ROMs in this forum are for single sim version of Desire X only! They owrk for dual sim version sometimes, but there are bound to be problems because hardware is a bit different between these phones.
I didn't back-up my rom, now guess I should google for time machine! :crying:

Question Redmi note 10 rebooting again and again

My phone was charging and all of a sudden it restarted and got stuck on lockscreen. After 5 seconds it again restarted and again got stuck on lockscreen. I tried factory resetting it, installing new ROM and even flashed MIUI 13 using PE recovery but the problem still persists. I've done factory reset for like 15 times and installed MIUI firmware as well with no luck.
It all happened on its own, I wasn't doing anything to my phone. Please help.
Update: I installed fastboot rom using MI flash tool but the problem still persists.
Is the battery good? It sounds like hardware.

Yes I never encountered any issues with the battery. By the way I've flashed stock rom but still my phone keeps rebooting after showing the welcome screen.

A failed battery be the easy answer; then can fail with no warning and is most likely to happen during the stress of charging. Any swelling is failure! Erratic fast charging is another symptom. If it's capacity has dropped below 80% of its original capacity it's considered degraded and should be replaced. Degraded Li's are more likely to fail.
If the battery can't sink enough current the device won't be able to boot. Although it may sink enough current to open the boot menu which uses far less power.
The next most likely culprit is the mobo if the correct firmware was loaded. However if the battery was weak it may have corrupted the flash. A loose connector or other failed subassembly is also possible.

Could it possibly be fixed by relocking the BL and flashing?

I'm not sure if thats the issue. Was just asking.
By the way my data partition also seems to be corrupted as TWRP is continuously failing to format data and giving error. But PE recovery would readily format the data without any error.

One caveat:
You are using a very old official system to fix.
Latest version of Android 11 = V12.5.5.0.RKGMIXM
Latest version of Android 12 = V13.0.10.0.SKGMIXM
If you can't get a clean install in MiFlash and you're doing everything right, it's a hardware error.

then it must be a hardware error.
Anyways how do I power it off? It's stuck on boot screen and long pressing the power button results in reboot. Is there any fastboot command to do that?
yea must be battery or mobo problem. if it does not bootloop while plugged in a charger then it's a battery problem. also try banging the back case and the hardware keys especially the power button. maybe something is stuck. if something is loose then you need to have it checked.

if u still have access to fastboot then install any custom recovery. it has an option to power it off
Try flashing without Miflash.
Download latest fastboot rom 13.0.10.
Extract fastboot rom files then copy latest fastboot.exe from HERE and paste it inside the folder.
Run flash_all.bat

The "catch checkpoint" is just a Mi Flash thing.
The ROM is flashed successfuly, but the software is checking one last step, which is failing.
You can safely remove the checkpoint thing in the configuration menu : delete the line "Check Point".
With this checkpoint you will get passed only if you flash and lock your phone.
