[Q] New radio question

Okay so i want to update to to the latest radio version, the leaked gingerbread one, but ive heard a lot about random reboots and other problems. what are peoples experience with those? also, im running the latest virusrom and waiting for the new update thats been promised is the radio gonna affect whatever rom im running? and if i change roms could it change the radio or are they totally separate things?
PS- if the leaked radio is too glitchy then which should i update too? (im still on stock 1.16.00.0223r) ive looked through -->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13093559&postcount=1 but im really confused. the first looks the newest but ive heard people complain about glitches too. id really rather not flash each one at a time if i dont have too :/ no 4g in my area so its no big deal.
Also thinking about going to das bamf 2.x beta if virusrom isnt updated soon. comments? feedback? anyone try it?
I would look for the radio list and download the 2nd one down on the list, it is a combo of the new with the old and it seems to be working for most.
I ended up going with the first on the list. the newest cdma and lte. no problems so far. Getting better service at school too
I'm on latest MR1 radio with CM7 and it's working fine. Was told by Slayher not to use GB radio yet. If you want to use the GB leak though, you must use leaked radio.
Having trouble with the Radio for GB... i cannot get the phone past the HTC quietly brilliant, I have tried taking the battery out and then restarting but when I boot into recovery it tries to update the radio and then restarts to the quietly brilliant screen
I'm on the GB radio and Gingeritis and I'm having no reboot problems so far.
how do you like gingeritis? ive been considering switching to it or another gb rom but i was hoping to get one with sense 3.0 that new lockscreen looks sweeeeet. does that one have it?

Best looking and faster roms for KOODO (or at least one that not 1 years old)

Hi, I'm looking for the faster and good looking roms for koodo mobile (not telus, its screw signal)
I've Cyanogenmod 7 v10 with a custom koodo baseband (to work on the 5830D )but it's look like its still screwing my signal (random disconnect, its work half the time, the others half I need to go choose telus provider again and again (even if i'm on koodo)
I think its about the koodo CSC not in the rom and i dont think i can add them manually
If you have advices or roms, or how to manually add CSC, please help me i'm desesperate, I dont want to run an old mod from 1 years ago because theyre is almost no development for customs koodo roms
Errr... You already posted this and it got closed. Stop asking. You won't get an answer.

No best ROM, but...
First things first, there is no "best ROM". That's a matter of opinion. That said, I was really happy with APOCALYPSE, and right now I'm trying out DROID ACE V2.
I've tried several ROMS, and most I didn't like right away. But Itasoulas did some phenomenal work with MIRACLE and APOCALYPSE. Hopefully I'm just as happy with DROID ACE V2 (I just installed it, so it's too early to say, but I didn't want to uninstall it right away, at least).
Hope this helps.
actually, i dont want the BEST roms, I know its depend on everyone, I'm looking for roms that work with KOODO, or customs made for it (its a samsung 5830 D )
in case you didnt noticed, I removed every ''best'' in my text, so i'm just looking for something that work on koodo
i've tryed a fews and everytime I get signal problems (even if I load the baseband with ODIN)
you can resume what i'm asking by : is there ANY RECENT ROMS that work on KOODO? (GT-5830D and baseband DTLKI4) specific for Koodo
Kevenlekiller was doing some works but its not upgraded anymore (since one year)
I dont want to be a pain in the a** but I have this phone, half bricked because I cant use any roms...
either I use an old roms, use it working half time or I bring it back to stock
At least, do anyone know how to upgrade or install new CSC to the phone ? (its maybe my problems, phone only show telus, rogers and bell number)
I have this phone from Koodo. Stock is the best, flash via odin. I currently use S5830XWKTQ_S5830OXXKT4_S5830XWKT8_HOME.tar.md5 (2.3.6) with the koodo Modem_S5830DTLKI4.tar. No problems with cell signal, GPS, 3G/HSDPA, plus the battery life is great and apps like netflix work great...and games run much better than Koodo's 2.3.4. Make sure you do a factory reset data from the settings menu after flashing.
I'm using this phone with Koodo, and all the roms I mentioned in earlier post work fine.

Which Radio will work with this ROM?

I am about to flash this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312201
I'm wondering which radios will work with this. I'm new to rooting/flashing, fyi. I've been studying immensely.
The reason I'm wanting to flash a new rom is because I'm running cyano 7.1.1 and my bluetooth piece will no longer connect to my phone. Would you folks recommend I flash a new rom? Or only new radios?
The current radios I have are: 1.48.00.0817r AND 0.01.78.0802w_3.
ALSO, if I may ask, what is the difference between RUU and Radios? How are the two linked?
Thank you very much.
Radios really aren't rom specific. more like whatever works best on your phone.. sometimes updating to a radio that works or fixes someone else's problem isn't necessarily going to fix someone else's . If that makes sense.. I honestly haven't changed radios since I first rooted in 2011..
Really what works great for one person might not work great for you. Most you can do is just try different radios over s few days and come up with your own conclusions of what worked better on your phone.
reestipt reactions.
RUU = rom upgrade utility. Basically usually the stock roms from HTC.
The radio usually affects signal quality and speed.

HTC One Cross Compatible stuff

Hi guys,
so what i've been noticing is there is alot of stuff in the HTC One international version section and i've heard and seen people running different stuff from there.
i think it might be a good idea to start a thread or something that can link to those specific threads about kernel's or roms that work on our phone. I've already loaded up a battery % mod from there that works with our phone. that might get the ball rolling.
from what i heard all the roms are cross compatible since pretty much no one adds firmware into their roms just the OS software and thats it. *correct me if i'm wrong*
though the one thing to be weary about is since the tmobile wifi calling is built into our stock rom if you want to keep it you'd have to mod the current rom file we're using. if you use the international roms it will not have wifi calling since their roms stock dont come with it.
Just a thought to get the ball rolling on roms. I'm one to not really care about wifi calling since i mean most of us are on the new tmobile non contract unlimited lines anyways so theres no need to worry about going over minutes. you'd be only worried about it if your out of the country or in a place that has really bad signal and want to use wifi to make a call.

Everything over there will work with our phone. I'm not sure why they made a different section.

[Q] Will Google Play Edition Roms Work On Verizon?

Subject kind of says it all. Since the Google Play Edition phones don't work on Verizon, does that mean that if I have a Verizon S4 I can't flash a Google Play Edition Rom? Or will it work fine?
Thanks

Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343355
It's been ported, so there are a couple latent issues. However, they're mostly cosmetic. It's fast, light, and everything basically works. TouchWiz camera is a work-in-process right now, but it's getting there.
They work perfectly fine. Dubbsys ge rom runs is working fine.
Ir blaster works and runs smooth as hell.

Very cool. Thanks! How do the radios work since Verizon is on CDMA, which isn't apart of Google Edition Rom? Was it added after the fact or handled in the kernel? Sorry for the noob-ness of the question...just trying to understand.

Our baseband (radio) stays the same from ROM to ROM unless the ROM flashes its own radio (most don't). To make the GE ROM work with our phone, the devs had to modify quite a few files. At first they weren't able to get the signal bars to display correctly (they were always empty,) but that has since been resolved. I am currently running Dubbsy's Odex version of GE with the stock TouchWiz MDK kernel and ME7 baseband. If that's unclear to you, basically the modifications were made within the ROM for compatibility with CDMA/LTE and our individual phones can utilize the same kernel/radio as other TouchWiz ROMs.

@newtoroot @Zarboz Maybe a stretch here, but something to look into? Might help us fix our lte for our DNA's. Just tagging these two devs in case they wanted to know its been sucessfully ported to verizon, GPE rom that is.
