Hello,
trying to find a S-view cover . i find one from Sonivo :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SONIVO-Snea...UJ86/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A2PA6SVKIURG13
They say " , the case has been designed especially for the Galaxy Note III so that the automatic sleep sensor can automatically put your phone in and out of standby mode (saving battery life, so your phone lasts longer between charges). It does this automatically, and completely hassle free, simply by opening or closing the lid, without losing any data, as your phone will re-open in the exact same screen state that it was closed in! (...Just like the hibernate function of a laptop, only FASTER, as this device does it almost INSTANTANEOUSLY!!) -No more 20-30 second waits for your device to power on! -Just simply open the case, and it's ready for immediate use straight away!"
I'm quite surprise that it could work???? Cause it's just a cover, it didn't replaced the rear cover with the small ship ??? so how can it work???
A video with this cover on a S4 seems to work?
Any help???
Thank's
Don't waste your money I almost bought a similar one you can download the sview app in the play store that's pretty much it other than that it wouldn't work.

I love the stand with landscape mode !!! Why the S View have not this ?
The real samsung case has that mode also but in order for the s - view window to work you need the real 70$ case or you can get the knock off which wouldn't work as well you would need to download a app called s-view hatroid in the playstore.

So I was thinking about getting this, but not ready for an upgrade and its pricey to buy even a used one. I was thinking though of replacing my phone and tablet with it as its kinda an in between. Anyone done this or would recommend or not recommend?
Ymmv but I sold my galaxy nexus and nexus 7 and bought the note 2. I like it much better. No data to sync between the 2. I get nearly as much battery as the tablet and it fits in my pocket. My nexus 7 was wifi only so now I have data all the time as well.
I decided to keep the nexus 7 for a few days after to make sure bud I sold it like 3 days after I got my phone.
Its all personal preference though

If I flew a lot I'd rather have a Nexus 7 on hand, but otherwise I like having the Note 2 in my pocket wherever I go. This is something where you'll have to figure out how often you use it and how annoying you think it is to carry it around etc.
Yeah, same here. Exchanged the DNA, and gave my Nexus 7 to my son soon after buying the Note 2. I still have it available, but haven't picked it up for any other reason except to charge it.

and what about the phone portion? I mean all the reviews say its weird and awkward but do you feel like a wackjob using it as a phone?
I guess it depends on what size tablet your thinking of eliminating.
I love my note 2 but it is definitely not going to replace my 10" tablet anytime soon.
The people who say it looks funny holding it are jealous I havent even touched my Asus tf300 since I got this phone. It is my sons now.

This.
I came from a One X and find my self reaching for my Note 10.1 less but the extra screen real estate between 5" and 10" makes a huge difference for consumption and creation. But I also feel a 7" tablet's too small so it's all a YMMV.
Ya im coming from a xperia tablet

I admit it looks a bit silly holding it to your head to talk (at least now. in a few years phones around this size will probably be common). I don't care at all, but it might bother some. In this case, get a cheap bluetooth headset. I had something like this a while back and it's light, comfortable, and when you get calls, you flip it open and it automatically answers them for you to start talking.

Yup, mine was one of the originals of this design too. Paid $100 for it, within a week when I took my keys out of my pocket, it fell out without me noticing and I ran over it with my car. Good times.
This phone is definitely big, but not suitable to replace a tablet. I much prefer my Tab 2 10.1 as touchwiz on a tablet is more friendly. But maybe its the s pen integration on this phone that complecates things.

I have a galaxy tab 7.7.... When I got my verizon note I was able to get the wall street journal app (for tablets) running on and I pulled the sdcard from the galaxy 7.7 and I forgot to plug it into the wall while I played with my note and the battery died The irony is when I went to check my tablet to turn it off is was already off, opps. I plugged the tablet back into the wall but I have yet to turn it back on. I've only had the phone for 4 days and I'm trying to figure out to keep or let go of my tablet.. Everything I did with my tablet videos/books the note handles with ease. It depends on the user really and what you use the tablet for. In retrospect, the galaxy 7.7 only has a 5100mah battery. When mugen announced the 6400mah extended battery and I was sold.
No sign of it last night. Today i called and they had it in the lost and found.
Anyone want to take bets on what it looks like? No case no screen cover.
I did go through the bs of changing all my passwords last night as i have no lock on it also. That was annoying but probably was time to do that anyways.
While i had everything backed up one scary thought was if someone logged in they could have deleted my backups :/
Ohh nooo...itll prolly be pristine man mayb a lil scratch on the bezel....:/

Well its back in my possession.... it appears to held up pretty well. there is a major dent in the side and about 2-3 little scraches on the screen and one bigger scratch. Very usable. I thought for sure it would have been smashed into bits.

Yeah me too. It will be nice when phones use built-in biometric security, and no more PINs or patterns. I check my phone no less than 50 times a day, and doing a PIN/pattern each time gets tedious.

Even since I got my phone stolen and people started posting some really nasty stuff all over Facebook and twitter i now use a lock screen. It might be tedious but it's worth it for a little bit of protection to ward off most people. In the end if someone wants to get in your phone they are going to but having a slight deterrent is nice.
I agree, pictures anyway!!

Yea this phone is pretty tough. I left mine in the lightbar of my patrol car and drove off the other day. Realized a half mile down the road and was like oh ****. Made the block and couldn't find it. Searched for like 30 minutes and chalked it up to a loss. Next day I drove the block three time at 5mph and found the phone up against the curb. UAG case was off, battery cover off, battery out and screen down. Was like Yes! But I bet the screen is busted (mainly just wanted pics off it) turned it over and not a scratch on the screen. Looked like it had tire print on it though. 2 minor dings along the side bezel was all the damage the phone took. Case had big black tire marks and was scratched to hell though.
Pen popped out and never did find it was the only bad thing.
It's a tough phone for sure.
I would call that some serious luck bro... as my Luck Stands.. I had to get my vision checked and I went to Target.. I set my previous phone (Thunderbolt) on the table and forgot I had done so and went in and had my vision looked at.. came out and it was gone.. :-\ good thing it was only a TBolt and not my Note or I would have raged on that store. LOL
Lucky lucky.

I dropped my Note 2 right on the face and broke the glass. The top right corner looks like a spider web with a few cracks stretching to the bottom. The display still works though . I plan to get a new glass and replace it myself. I've found quite a bit of info on how to do it.
My only question is this. When I last made a call with it the screen wouldn't come back on when I pulled it away from my face. I'm hoping it's just because of the cracks that run right across the 2 sensors at the top. Do you think it could be that or do you think maybe one of the sensors broke when it fell.
I sure don't want to have to replace the whole lcd unit. That's about $250 while the glass is about $20.

Hey thanks Luke. It's good to see you again. I'm actually using my Charge again for calls and texts. I find I've gotten really spoiled by my Note. The old phone feels clunky and slow.
Thanks for the good info. I'll definitely look for that when I take the busted screen off. It'll take a few days to get the parts. Wish me luck. I think I'm gonna need it. It looks like a hard job.

Another question. I'd like to be able to make the display stay on when I'm holding it up to my ear. Does anyone know a way to do that? I'd really like to use my Note even though the screen is broken. I don't like my Charge any more because it's too small.

small crack with resolution prob.
I have a small crack in upper right of screen & now my sharp color is gone. It is now very dull almost like I used a photo app & added an overlay to it. Need some advice
Well I got my parts and got the tools I needed to fix my screen. The problem was I got the wrong type plastic razor blades. I got scraper blades instead. I tried it anyway and ended ripping my LCD screen. Now it's costed an extra $ 200+ for a LCD Digitizer assembly. Hopefully the next day delivery will still work even though yesterday was a holiday and the post offices were closed.
Anyway, what I'm leading up to is don't try this if everything isn't kosher. It's a tricky job.
Update: I found out they won't even ship it til Monday. I guess I don't get it back this weekend. I really don't like my old Charge after using my Note all these months.
I take no credit in the development of this app, I'm merely making a recommendation for those who would find it useful.
IntelliCover 2.0 is a utility which uses your device’s proximity sensor, light sensor and/or accelerometer to turn the screen on and off, allowing fast and efficient access to your phone or tablet.
It turns the screen off automatically when you put your device in your pockets, close its flip cover, store the device in a bag, or even just leave the device facing down on a table. As soon as the device is back in your hand the proximity sensor is triggered again, the screen turns back on and your device in instantly ready for use. This improves productivity immensely on large devices or devices that do not have physical hardware buttons.

I've been using this app for a couple days with my Cellto Wallet Case and love it.
Open the cover; Screen on. Close the cover; Screen off.
Seems to use a minimal amount of battery, but for the convenience I think it's worth it.
I've been using this app since late last night/early this morning. Seems pretty nice so far. I don't have a flip cover on my GN3, but still like being able to lay my phone face down an the display go off. Also nice that that display comes on when you pick it up. I've yet to put this app on my GN2, but I'm about to install this app and put my Samsung flip cover on it. Not completely sure on getting a flip cover for my GN3 yet, because I've used the $40 flip cover on my GN2 less than 10 times. I think having this app an my flip cover on my GN2 will help my decide if I do want one for my GN3 though!

Glad you enjoy it. Battery usage is minimal. Barely noticable.
Been using this since the OP and upgraded to a Bear Motion flip cover.
Thanks for the info. I've been using the original version for a year or so and wasn't aware that version 2 was out.
Excellent app suggestion. I used Gravity screen during my E4GT days, and got used to it after a while. We needed that app, since you had a pretty good chance that you would end up with a busted power button as the phone aged. Seems like a similar function.

Hi,
just like to ask if i can have the apk for the old version? just like to observe which one has better battery consumption. basically the new version is a little bit bigger in terms of size because of the new UI, features, bug fixes and language. but the more simple app is better. at least for me.

Let us know what your conclusion is, I'm intrigued.
Installed it and tried it for a bit, Did not like it for my use so I has been removed.
My phone sits screen up on my desk at work, so if I reach over my phone or something to trigger it on accident, the screen comes on then goes off. It may seem like a small thing but after an hour of using it it I lost count on how many times it would be triggered. all that is going to do for me is kill my battery.
Thanks for the suggestion, seems like a cool idea for some peoples usage.

At first I felt the same way, but with all the configuration options such as screen on delay, screen off delay, proximity, light, proximity+light, etc... I just increased the screen on and off delays till it didn't pick up on accidental stuff like that.

I have a gear Fit, but was considering getting a Neo as well. The Fit is pretty functional, but I'm wondering how well people like talking from the Neo as well.
I have the gear 2 neo connected to my note 3. All I can say is quite a few apps don't install. A lot of bugs people are having with random things not happening. There is next to none support and overall modification of the system is minimum. I would wait till it gets better or the devs figure out how to load android.

Also the sound production is very well far as talking to and hearing people. The speaker is sufficiently loud enough in most places you would have a general face to face conversation.
All apps have worked fine for me. Some are just plain junk. For stock functionality works well

Notifications are Great!
I really like the Gear Neo w/my Note 3. As mentioned though, it will get better once more support is there. I think they finally got root for it, but not able to install android on the Tizen watch yet. I just want Google Now instead of Svoice on it really. And offline voice recognition would be nice.
Previously, I was using it as a fitness tracker (heart rate and calorie tracking), but I stopped because I can get a fair guess at my calories. It was doing well, but would occasionally stop during my workout. I played around on a treadmill at the gym and the heart rate numbers matched pretty well, so it seems pretty accurate.
It looks great, I like watches, and the notifications/calling/texting allow me to pull out my phone less.
I've got a gear one and use the talk function and s voice for text all the time. Especially handy if you have the Zerolemon brick! I tend not to use the smart apps. Is the wake shake better with the gear 2?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I've got the Neo, I do like it MUCH better than the Gear 1, but as everyone points out apps are limited. As an android dev I can tell you the SDK and tools for developing ar extremely limited and unreliable, which is probably why we are not seeing high adoption. Samsung seemed to go out of the way to alienate the existing developer base.
No thanks, waiting for Moto360.

I have the Neo for about a week and so far it's pretty good. This is my first Samsung gear watch and it's a little disappointing to see that Samsung hasn't come very far in their 2nd iteration. I had an Amazon gift card to pay for it but I wouldn't buy it for $199. My biggest issue has been the annoyance of having to push the button to see the time. I am spoiled by my Pebble which has an always on display and twice the battery life. Overall I think the Pebble is a better implementation of a smart connected watch.

You don't have to push the button to see the time, you can go to settings, display, wake up gesture and set it up to on, and your watch will turn on every time you move your arm closest to your face or towards you.

I had that feature turned on for a few days and it bugged me because it would light up the display at times when I wasn't wanting to see it. Many times during normal movement it interprets the wrist motion as wanting to see the watch when that is not the case. It really went nuts when I was playing golf! Not a great implementation.

Yeah it does go a little crazy when I'm at work. But I decided to keep it on because I found pressing the home button every time I wanted to see the time more annoying than the screen turning on at random times. Still get a good 3 days with it on.
