Hi,
I installed ROM Resurrection Remix® v4.0.7 [i.e. 4.2.2] on my S2 and have three issues:
Sometimes Phone gets hot and reboots. This has been reported also in the RR4.0.7 thread (where I may not yet post)
Back Camera is not reliable on HD720p recording. Sometimes it works for 1 recording, afterwards phone hangs and finally "Camera failure" is reported.
Front Camera is not working at all. Tried to start Video Chat with Google hangout, but got "Camera Failure".
The camera is working in stock 4.1.2.
Should I switch to a 4.1.2 ROM or are there any "stable" 4.2.2 ROMs out there with working & reliable Camera incl. HD movie recording ?

there is a lot of custom roms to try like cyanogen mod,slimbean,biftor,neatrom lite...etc. If the camera doesnt work well then switch back to stock.

You confuse me. A few threads before it was said that CM ROMs do not support camera well ( see this tread . Why do you recommend CM then ?

oh.im so sorry.i didnt know that cm does have camera issues.plus aosp/aokp roms have more bugs than stock based roms(maybe like issues on camera).

Hi All!
I currently have HellyBean CM10 on my phone, everything is working fine and my only problem is that phone cannot stream music or videos via network, It can load website flawlessly, but when it comes to loading videos in youtube it cannot but it loads everything else like comments and such. It happens also in soundhound, it just keep on loading. I also have tried using Resurrection Remix Jelly Bean ROM v3.0.6 for Galaxy S2
and X-TremE CM10 Jelly Bean ROM which has the same problem. I also tried them while using wifi and there's no problem at all.

I've tried a couple 4.2.2 based custom roms on my vzw note 2 and I have the same problem with the camera in each. The camera takes a picture but doesn't save the image. So when I go into gallery, there's no pictures. I don't have a problem with a 4.1.2 base rom I tried. Is there something I can do to fix this? Currently the phone has ChameleonOS rom on it (version 0.6).

try switching the storage location of of the pictures in camera settings.

i have tried changing from a couple of roms and i am just unable to connect to the front camera. I do not know what is wrong! can someone please hlp me?
try going back to stock rom. camera still not working? than it is probably a hardware issue .take it to a service center
Try flashing the ROM again after wiping caches. Faced this problem today for the first time with Omega. If that doesnt help try to flash some other ROM.

Is this a common issue
From the experiences on installing custom roms (AOSP based) such as CM 10.1(snapshot release) and AOKP(milestone). Camera crashing was the common and irritating bug ever had. In CM 10.1 it was slightly less, but in AOKP Camera freezes like 1 time interval (1st time not responding and 2nd time it's working).
I've read in most of the AOSP based roms for S3 (I9300), this is a common since the firmware itself is locked. Is there any glitch free AOSP based roms with good rom controls and customizable options available for S3? I'm really looking forward for Paraniod Android and RootBox, fingers crossed
Also does flashing kernal will do any good? (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42766353&postcount=4)

i have glaxy s2 i9100 few days ago i update it to android 4.3 using custom aosp rom jellybam after that i notice my mobile is taking pictures but they all are blur i mean they are not clear then i think it is 4.3 rom bug i used the rom for a week then i changed other roms like miui (android 4.1.2) and stock jellybean rom neatrom but the problem is still there but front camera is alright pic taken from front camera is also included. plz tell me is it software problem or something like hardware. some captured pictures are included plz some one help me thank and sorry for my bad english.

In settings if focus mode is continuous, select auto mode
I in the past did not have the issue where the camera keeps making sound and can't focus at all, I've seen that devs have made special kernel for such users, is this issue permanent for all roms that I install henceforth or just on the current rom, if I flash a focus Fix kernel will its effect be on my current rom only or on all the roms I install after that? does focus Fix kernel restore it back to original state or you still have slight issue and hardware clicks? I'd appreciate answers!

Just like you I didn't have focuse issue but after I flashed a ROM with the fix now i have clicking sound and refocusing in videos. And I have this problem now in every ROM even the ROMs without the fix.
Now I'm trying to solve this problem, I hope rolling back to the official stock ROM will help me.
I don't recommend to install a ROM with the fix!

install pixel experience++ unofficial rom, you won't have the focus issue on that, it has no bugs except for the fact that volte doesn't work on it after reboot yet.

install pixel experience++ unofficial rom it won't have focus issue, you won't have volte on that after reboot though. it doesn't have any other bug that I know of
Does the Focus Issue problem work with Pixel Experience++ ?
Because i have the problem since i flashed a rom and the problem is still alive
i have tested many different camera apps but none fix the blurry pictures.
the focus works on a very low distance, but when you go outside and want to take a picture, they are always blurry..
I had the focus issue (blocked at 20 cm) and installing Resurrection Remix (RR-N-v5.8.5-20171006-x2-Final.zip), worked for me
