I just installed a fresh KPO stock and used Gslmt 2.1 as a custom rom.
See this thread for more info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216700
Problem I am having is that the shutdown option does a reboot in stead of a shutdown. Does anyone else have this problem.
Couldn't ask this in the Android dev part since I am new to XDA. So hope someone can help me here.
Still SOD and WiFi problems
This Rom still gives me the SOD problem and my WiFi is shutting down randomly. So I'll install a different ROM this weekend.
Tried then all by now.
Anyone had SOD problems and got the definitive solution with a Custom ROM?
Please share!

People have been saying the new kernel removed the bug. Try GingerReal, haven't seen reports of SOD over there.
As for me I don't get it at all normally.
Hello
I installed the KANG ROM found in the following thread [ROM][KANG]CM9 ICS 10.1 WiFi Preview 02/08/12 and the boot screen seems to refresh/scroll endlessly. Once the lock screen comes up (which scrolls endlessly as well), if I press the power button to turn screen off and then switch it back on, the display is stable.
I use the Korean Version SHW-M380W (Galaxy Tabl 10.1 Wifi 32GB). I tried Galaxy Task Slim 13.1 and other ICS Roms found on XDA, but the result is same.
Can someone please let me know a fix for this?
Thank you so much.

Doesn't anyone else face this issue?
I don't think it supports the korean tab
Hmm I saw that if I restore /boot from stock image backup in HC 3.2 this issue was solved. Tried and tested it and worked fine. But when I upgrade to ICS, there is no /boot to restore from. Just tried it with the Hc 3.2 /boot and the system hanged.
Probably different ramdisks as ics kang is based of devices they own and custom via the model as the Korean tab is not part of it you may need to request or hope someone donates one to them, and if it was the official update of ics it would work but these are custom made builds based off the source ics package given by Google so it isn't an official update like HC3. 2

Thank you for your reply.
have you tried romans?
Romans
You mean the AOKP one right? Yeah, I have tried it, but the same issue
I mean, the one from here: http://forum.aokp.co/page/releases
Build 28 to be specific. Strangely, the same (screen jumping) issue was there with CWM as well. And pershoot was kind enough to make a new CWM just for Korean tab. I wonder what changed though (Am quite a newbie to rooting and stuff, so dont really know where to go to)
The pershoots CWM which fixed a screen jumping issue for CWM (not for boot screen though) is found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360588
Thanks bro.
So its all fixed?
Oops, I missed the whole point Actually, I had tried that after the [ROM][KANG]CM9 ICS 10.1 WiFi Preview 02/08/12 version, but the issue persisted. Its only with the bootscreen that this issue exists. Once we go to the lock screen, the issues still exists, but a screen off -> screen on (using the power key) quickly restores the screen back to the non-fluctuating version.
Wait, why havent you used kang by Roman? Its already coming to 4.0.4
Build 29
Thanks Misledz: I tried out Build 29 located in the following page:
http://forum.aokp.co/page/releases
Still the problem persists
I think you need a clean wipe, like generally wipe everything off it, a factory reset and stock firmware flash, then see if it persists.
Only this solution worked for me on EU version:

Tried that but still no luck

I guess I have the same recovery. The issue is not with the scrolling recovery, but with the scrolling lock screen. Did it get fixed for you as well? Am using AOKP build 30.
Thank You!!!!

Thank you so very much!! The issue which was bothering me for the last three months is now solved. Life saver..
Hi all,
Until recently I have been having very unstable results with my SGS2 (gt-i9100), every time the phone would freeze, overheat, use most of the battery in 2 seconds (figuratively speaking that is) or rebooting itself.
Some people on this forum told me to try a different kernel or roms, something I did and well no real improvement, I tried combinations of ressurection remix, omega and kernels such as siyah and dorimanx (I tried more but these are the ones I still remember by name)
Luckily (or unfortunately) I love my phone and android so I didn't really want to change hardware.
Couple of weeks ago, I figured that maybe I should try yet another rom and... SUCCESS!!
Ever since flashing AOKP milestone 1 everything is the way it should be (well to be honest first thing I always do when getting a new phone is rooting it and getting a new rom, so I am not sure how "normal" out of the box operating of an android is :silly
So basically my question to you is:
does the instability have anything to do with the kernel? currently using 3.0.31-cm-00008 (which incidentally, is that CyanogenMod?)
if it is related to the kernel, anyone has any suggestions to make dorimanx/siyah work (as they seem to be pretty popular here on xda, I'm guessing it has more to do with me)
and less kernel related, if a rom is AOKP based (or CM or whatever), does that mean that this rom has all the bugs from the base + the things the specific rom has?
Thanks!

1. May or may not be, usually it's kernel related, yeah that is the usual kernel made for CyanogenMod
2. The latest dorimanx does work fine with xwlsn and so does the latest siyah for xwlss.
3. An AOKP rom has different frameworks and usually is more buggier than stock rom, because of closed source codes (blame Samsung) several features are disabled or improperly functioning.

Hi Experts
I have i9100g with neatrom. I also wants to use custom rom because stock rom is very heavy and has lots of default service/process running
which makes device sluggis.
My problem is my GPS doesnt lock on custom AOSP roms. I have tried many version on CM from 9 to latest 11, Slim roms, MIUI, PA etc. GPS doesnt work
on any of them. The only custom rom on which my GPS works is OMNI ROM but problem is on OMNI rom also GPS takes very long time 5-10 minutes to lock
and many times doesnt lock at all.
using stock rom or neat rom GPS works like charm and lock time is around 10 sec without fail.
I heard some of the nightly builds of CM has this problem fixed but i couldnt find any. I have tried flashing a lots of roms.
Can somebody please let me know which version has this fix or is there any way to fix this issue?
I have tried all faster GPS kind of app on play store but didnt help. changing NTP server also didnt work.
I have read all the post related to this issue but coudn't find the solution.
PLEASE SOMEBODY HEAP....THIS GPS PROBLEM IS KILLING ME....NO MONEY FOR NEW PHONE
Thanks
