My Samsung galaxy s3 i9300 won't boot up. I rooted and flashed omega rom via Cwm recovery and it didn't boot pass the omega start up screen. So I flashed the latest samsung firmware via odin and now it won't boot pass the Samsung screen. Even after I wiped in recovery. What do I do?

Don that and no change
Check in recovery that your efs folder is mounted. If that partition is damaged then recent stock rom will not pass bootloader stage.
Edit, don't use cf root for recovery -it's well out of date and includes SDS risk. Instead flash philz recovery using Odin.

I flashed philz recovery and when I checked in mounts I see efs folder not mounted, when I try to mount o get error. Mounting /efs. What do I do to resolve this
Read general > sticky roll-up thread > imei / efs
You'll need the efs backup you made before you started flashing.

No, wouldn't do that if I where you. Flash it through Odin. Search for guides first, because your question shows you haven't searched for anything.

wiping data will not format your internal mem. or ext sd. just put the rom you want to install to your internal sd>reboot to recovery>wipe data, Advanced>wipe dalvic cache> Install zip from internal sd> select the zip file you copied> Reboot

Hi guys. I wanted to go back from cm10.1 to stock 4.1.2 and did a nandroid backup with cwm 6.0.2.7 touch and saved my data also with titanium backup.
After flashing stock JB I couldnt find the titanium backups anymore which I realized are stored on internal card so after wiping everything my data is gone. Ja I know my fault. But then I thought I can just restore the nandroid backup I just made to have everything how it was before, but after doing it my screen stopped at the samsung galaxy s3 screen and didnt boot anymore.
Of course I made the backup with 6.0.2.7 and restored it with th same version, but I dont get why its not booting correctly :S
After that I thought I just root the stock phone and flash cm10.1 and try to restore again but it also didnt help.

CWM doesn't work without root access. Have you tried to install a complete new stock ROM from Sammobile.com? Even though this doesn't recover your data, your phone might work again.

My phone works just fine. The problem is to flash the cm10.1 nandroid backup successful to get my internal sd memory back.
btw I tried to copy the backup to internal sd but then it says md5 sum mismatch god damn it..... I just wanna have my internal sd card files back. grrrrrrrr
If you have Phil's recovery use the aroma file manager to find and move the back up so it can be seen as I'm guessing you are suffering the sd/0/0 etc problem

I tried moving it with aroma and then it says error again. its just possible for me to restore the nandroid with cwm which I originally had and just from external sd and even then the logfile says everything is fine just restoring system is an error. that sucks cuz I cant boot the phone then to get access to my internal space via usb
or is there another possibility to restore internal card to get access????

Yes it does. Recovery and root are completely unrelated. Read the root guides.
Step 1 - flash recovery via odin
Step 2 - flash su zip via recovery
CWM can flash zips, backup and restore without root access to android. Root access is within android only

No it doesnt boot if I try ro restore the backup I end up seeing Samsung Galaxy S3 screen and thats it....
I just updated to cwm 6.0.3.2 and made a backup and it also showed the above problem but this one restores and boots correctly :S
Another idea is. When I made the first backup with 6.0.2.7 I was also running on yank555 1.6c kernel. Is that important to set up the restore with a running system and this exact kernel? Please tell me what to do if so.

Hello
I've accidentally flashed a wrong cwm-recovery (meant for some other phone)
After the installation I've rebooted into recovery and it booted the one I already had (that's when I understood it's the wrong one)
Then I've tried to reboot back to my rom but it got stuck on the rom's loading screen
Tried to flash a new rom after using gs2RomWipe
Tried to restore from a nandroid backup
all of them gave the same result.. stuck on the loading screen
Now to my question...
If I flash a stock Rom via Odin.. will it be enough? will I be able to reroot and use my phone normally again?
Or is there an easier way maybe?
i did the same today..
all the time bootloop..
flashing same rom that i was using did not helped..
flashing some other rom helped but cant call cause phone dont see simcard..
flashing some other roms like cyanogenmod also stuck my on bootloop..
I am pretty sure you have to flash via odin.
Update...
I've flashed a stock rom via Odin but it went into a bootloop
when I've entered recovery it said E:failed to mount efs (invalid argument)
so far I've found no way to make the phone work
please help

still nothing...
and it usually takes 1-2 mins max for me
also doesn't explain why stock from odin wont work
It seems to me that I need to somehow fix the efs folder but no idea how to do that
almost all the guides I've seen about that requires the rom to work and use root explorer
the others wasn't clear enough or just not related
according to the shell commands my efs folder is empty
copying the efs folder I have on my sdcard doesn't help because it's not there after reboot
I have a tar.gz as well but not sure how to use it
can I flash the .tar via odin? or some other solution with adb/shell?
or do you think it has nothing to do with my problem?
anyone have any idea how to help me???
I've tried many different ways but my device just wont make it past the loading screen of the rom (doesn't matter which one)
I really have no idea what can cause this problem
thought that flashing stock rom via Odin should fix it but it doesn't help
I've tried some methods I've seen to fix efs problems but so far nothing helped
I'm really desperate at the moment :\
download mode and flash the cwm kernel via Odin should work.

OK.....just a quick thing......Odin flashing a normal single file stock firmware *may* not be the solution as it just overwrites what is already there during the flash. I will provide a link to a three part firmware that wipes the old as it flashes.....this essentially flashes the firmware onto 'pristine' memory partitions....it *might* help......
Here's the link.....
http://www.mediafire.com/?1z5ao5b6r594x45
Search for @Hopper8s Odin troubleshooting guide for instructions on how to flash it.....
Good luck.....
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
today my battery went down to zero and then my phone stuck on the menu screen.
i rebooted but then my phone got stucked on the samsung galaxy 3 logo.
i tryed to wipe files and catche but it didnt helped,
i tryed to install the ROM again but it didnt helped...
i can get to the recovery and download mode, but my phone still stuck on the stuped logo...
what to do?
sry if i have spelling mistakes...
You have corrupted one or more partitions, try a factory reset after flashing your custom rom again.
If that doesn't work then use Odin to flash a stock firmware, then factory reset.

Means you screwed the efs partition when flashing an incompatible modem with your efs version.
If you flashed a 4.1.2 firmware and got that error, try and flash a mg4 or above modem to see if it gets solved. Or flash a 4.3 firmware altogether.
Read rootSU post on efs, it's a must.
Of you ever backed up your efs or used twrp recovery to make a nandroid backup (which also backs up efs) you might get it back by restoring it.
Otherwise, a patched kernel, modem or ariza patch would be the last available choice before sending to repair.

I mean, go to the stickies in the general section and read. They're there for a reason, including steps before rooting, flashing, information on the efs partition, and pretty much everything else you could have done to avoid the situation you're facing right now.
