I was trying to port android 4.3 from nexus ROM ( port rom) and RITZ HD (base ROM) for our Micromax A116. Flashing went smooth but device is stuck at boot logo. How to move forward?

It wont boot since both have different specs,inlcuding processor, ram,storage ,kernel etc.and porting should be done with similar specs of other phone. i hope u understood what i said.
As of I know following are the ways to get 4.3 on our device
1) We should have Kernel sources to build 4.3 AOSP ourselves (but some times even this might not give all functional modules)
2) Micromax should release 4.3 to our device.
3) We can port it from other devices who have same specs.
Regarding Flashing, If we right updates-script in a right way( following proper syntax and mount points etc...) any rom can be flashed without errors but it wont boot.
Also I think we can port parts of 4.3 like cam etc... but I am not sure we can directly port entire 4.3 ROM from Nexus to our device.
These are just my views after reading few tutorials and guides (not discourage you) and just to share my views.
Please Dev's correct me If I am wrong.

u need to build a custom kernel for this and for that u need source of mtk kernal . which are not available

I understood your point , but only framework , app ,fonts & media are copied from port rom and no other change.
As per my understanding they should not be having any direct link with processor, ram,storage ,kernel etc

Bro you can try the site chinaekarts.... its a site that manufactures chinese copy of most devices n have specs similar to our phone...mediatek processors n more....n surprisingly they r running 4.3 roms...some phones are given update links to 4.3 roms...so i hope u can get a source there....m sorry if this din help but m tring for the same...i dunno when will Micromax release a 4.3 rom.....

i visited the website but couldn't find any firmware link of 4.3 . If you know please provide the link.

4.3 update need mew kernal
new framwork
u cant port from nexus or anyother device
u can only port it by 2 ways
1) if u are capable to make android version from google 4.3 source code( completely new build)
2) or u can port it if its out for any MTK device
so better u spent ur time in learning googlr source code
or first try to make a simple patchrom
MTK developer are not noobs who still dint make any 4.3 for mtk so my suggestion for u to just better learn how kernals ,cpu, frameworks all works

MTK DEVS still not able to port CM 10.1 still
so 4.3 is rightnow about to impossible till no complete kermel sources so do some studies

I have seen many mtk devices with android 4.3 but they all are fake actually they are 4.2 with build prop edited..........

hi,welcome to my thread ,no,mine is micromax a100 it is the clone of:k-touch s757 and it has the same processor as on my micromax a100
so,i first flashed it's boot.img with qrd[qualcomm flash tool] software and then rooted it with unlockroot.
Flashing CWM was a bit difficult because qrd was having errors for this and adb made easy hangs all the time so i first downloaded android folder with adb,fastboot and etc-etc.Going into recovery is like this [VOL UP KEY + POWER KEY]

hi,welcome to my thread,this rom is of k-touch s757 which is the clone of micromax a100,i had taken risk and flashed it using CWM recovery,and it was simple jb ,but i customized it and added several tweaks and taken some tweaks from aftablonely786 custom rom and had replaced system apps with other apps like file manager with root explorer,stock music with google play music,added adfree as system apps,added swap file and second partition with link2sd ,now available ram is 312 mb to 400 mb .

I didnt find any flashable stock rom so i decided to make it for all qmobile noir a600 users
P.S I have deleted some preinstalled apps.

3) Go To Recovery

This rom has Pakistani Baseband, so qmobile users dont need to flash modem patch.
But MMX A116 users in India will need modem patch.

Good job pal. Good thing you documented Qmobile A600 rom in time before people get mad for roms if not found here.. Good job also, that you Deodexed it.
It is good to keep roms of all clones of A116 in one place for future reference. Now all Qmobile users can take advantage of this rom post. Well done. :good: +1

Dont worry, we have many clones and best stock roms. Just a tip for all. The 4.2.1 stock of A919i will be best for A600 and you can use it directly for MAGNETIC COMPASS to work on A600.
You can recommend that to all A600 users in your OP.

Yes of course, All my stock roms are always available for base roms. :highfive: No need for permission. Only expect a small visible credit at end with mention of which rom. Many people have already used it and they are doing good.

Is Custom Kernel of A116 compatible with A600???????????????????
Hello there! good to see A600 stock ROM over here. I am looking forward to buy qmobile A600. I know that all those ROMS which are made for A116 can easily run on A116 and sometimes needed to apply baseband patch! the thing i wanted to cnfrm here is that Custom kerenl like Blaze and Kashkernel are compatible with A600??? if I flash them after any ROM of A116???? I was messing around with my phone and wanted the modded playstore but it didnt really work out and my google apps got messed up. So i tried flashing gapps but that didnt fix it. So I had figured that now I had to flash a rom for the first time xD

Have you asked/requested the Original Developer to build a ROM for our star too
If not please try that first and give him the link of our device thread and the incomplete Device Tree

Almost nothing is common between our phone n ace except that it is made by samsung...
Try similar phones like
Pocket Gio Mini Mini II and so on
Pls post these threads in general section
This section is for a product thats ready for testing or direct use
Upto that point the thread is to be posted in general section

Try this..
COPY THESE LIB FILES TO BASE ROM[Your device rom] FROM PORT[Ace rom] ROM:
libandroid_runtime.so
libandroid_servers.so
libmedia_jni.so
and don't forget to get permissions from the original rom developer before you publish it..

no doubt, the rom is super cool.
but on its original thread many users reported serious battery drain problem. hope, if this rom gets ported to chd, it will be without battery problem.

I asked the developer for permissions to port his rom , but he did'nt allowed me and said that some other developer is porting it on A116 , but its been a long time and no dev has posted the rom in the thread , so i have decided to develop the ROM from the original XOLO hive firmware , so it will take a little time :fingers-crossed:

even i am using micromax a 108 kitkat. I am searching for custom rom from last 4 months not getting it. I had sent many personal messages to xda developers nobody replied plz help

Not yet. Actually I am a new root user and a week ago something caused a bootloop so this time I am more cautious. But another thread saw sometime had a request to port CM12.1 to 108.

Hi, sorry I'm late to reply. The thread where I found the request did not have even one reply so I didn't bother.
How you doing? Found any custom ROM or unofficial lollipop update yet?
If not, I guess we have to look for someone who could port CM12 for us. I'm looking for someone, and I'll let you know if I find someone and if it works for me.

I have searched everywhere on net but none of the developers are interested in developing custom rom for micromax a 108.

It claims to be compatible with all MT6582 devices with Kernel version 3.4.67.
I still didn't try it yet, I'll do in January. Go on and take a look at it, what do you think?

thanks dude but its written cm 12 rom for mt6582 and micromax a 108 is having mt 6582M chipset but ill try and reply you soon

Mt6582 and MT 6582M are tow different chipset for android my brother is having mmx a 120 with mt 6582 chipset, he had a custom material stable rom for his device, I tried flashing it on my phone but it bricked my MMX A 108 canvas. Hence it is a risk but I know to unbrick my it. Due to my packed schedule I have not downloaded the rom yet, I will download and try and reply you before 3rd Jan

bro i tried the rom. It is zipflashable rom. When I opened it I found that according to its build.prop file the rom is for samsung galaxy S4. I tried it flashing and the following results I found.
1. It corrupted my internal sd
2. It bricked my phn and I was unable to recover from nandroid backup too.
I flashed the whole stock rom from my pc and started my device with loosing my all data
In short the rom is not working on MMX A108 don't try it.

you can install windows os on android there are many videos on youtube claiming that you can do it but again aries the question of loosing data, imei, and memory
