Hi guys, I bought a G zone Commando C811 to use it as a second phone in a GSM network because I know Verizon global ready phones are unlocked and i liked this model a lot. My issue is the phone works on gsm network ok (SMS, outgoing calls and 3g data) but it is rejecting all incoming calls, phone forwards incoming call to voice mail or if VM is disabled it sounds busy. I managed to root the phone and I disabled all verizon bloatware, I've looked phone logcat and it shows that phone utils is rejecting all incoming calls as soon as they arrive and even before the phone rings.
I asked about this issue in different forums but no answer yet maybe because this phone is very new and a low stream one. I'm not a dev but I could try to find the fix myself if somebody more experienced tell me how to start to troubleshoot this issue.
I'm pretty sure if this phone was a popular one as Verizon's GS4, Droid DNA or HTC One somebody had managed to fix this for GSM users.

So, with the stock root rom, with a few different roms, and even with different kernels and radios, I don't ever receive incoming calls (though if I make an outgoing phone call, it works just fine).
Anyone know if this is something I can fix? Or is it an issue on Verizon's side? They had to go through three 4G SIM cards before finding one that my phone could actually activate with, so I'm wondering if that's the problem.
Did you set up call forwarding? Try calling *73 as this disables all calls to be forwarded, and try again.
You know what? I think you might be right... before I got my Thunderbolt, I had an OG Droid set to forward calls to a different temporary number...
My phone is going through a restore right now, so the INSTANT it boots up, I'll be dialing *73.
EDIT
VICTORY! It must have kept the call forwarding on the line. Thank you SO MUCH.
you're welcome.
I've had the Galaxy S2 for about 2 months now without any problems.
As of last Friday, I can't receive incoming calls. People who try to call me hear one beep and then they get my voicemail.
Outgoing calls work just fine, as does SMS (incoming and outgoing).
I've put my T-Mobile SIM in another phone and then it is able to receive a call. Another SIM in my phone -> same problem: no incoming calls.
So I figured it must be the phone.
Customer support has started an investigation but that can take up to 1 week, so I thought let's ask XDA.
Can it be a simple setting that I've accidentally changed? Pretty often when I take my phone from my pocket, the screen is unlocked so that could be a cause.
If anyone has a clue or an identical situation, please let me know.

Does your phone ring when a call comes in and also does it go straight through to your voicemail?

Straight to voicemail. But I've figured it out after 3 days
There's an option to automatically block all incoming calls in the settings. Must have accidentally been activated when the phone was in my pocket.

Hello my girlfriends SGS 2 has almost the same problem it cannot receive calls sometimes even though she can call everyone. The problem seems to fix by itself sometimes and it appears random.
I read that there was a problem with the samsung galaxy s when using 2G/EDGE connection with data activated and the problem was that the user could not receive calls randomly.
Can you confirm that you are using 2G/EDGE connection and Data activated? I am also trying to find the cause of this problem...
Hope my research helps good luck and waiting for your reply. (http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/...eive-incoming-calls-and-sms-while-using-edge/)
Later EDIT ---
She also has a vodafone provider but i have the same provider and never had this issue. Also no call filtering is done.
Make sure Call Forwarding is Disabled under Settings- Call- Call forwarding. And also try to delete the Voicemail number if you had set any.
Regards.
it's nothing Call Forwarding is Disabled related it is because of EDGE connection you can't have a sync or internet connection and while "dialing" data receive calls if you want to call anyone the network prioritizes and let's you dial whoever you want but it is not the same thing for incoming calls
^ Went over my head !
had the same problem in a bad 3g/data coverage area. solution was simply to turn data off and the calls started to come through.
turned data back on and now working ok.
Hello everyone. I'm having a bit of an interesting issue, and while (probably) not entirely confined to my new HTC One device, I was hoping you all could give me a bit of assistance!
Yesterday I made the switch from Sprint to AT&T and received my brand new HTC One in the mail. I'm a long time Google Voice user (using since late 2009), and have used it for all texting, calling, and voicemail on all android phones I've owned. I figured when I pre-ordered my phone, for simplicity sake I would just transfer my sprint number over to AT&T so I didn't have to deal with sprint customer support cancelling my service. This seems to have caused some major problems to my use of Google Voice, however. I was able to get everything set up again, but I'm having serious issues receiving calls forwarded from Google Voice to my phone.
During my tests trying to set this up, it appears that I DO have everything configured as I had previously on Sprint. I'm able to place calls and people see my google voice caller id, I can send and receive texts through the voice app, and my conditional forwarding sends all calls (both my regular number and google voice) to google voicemail. When I receive calls, however, I'd say 95% of the time it is so slow to foward that my phone that my callers will hit voicemail before it rings my phone. The only strange thing I see in my google voice settings is that my carrier for that number keeps getting recognized as Sprint instead of AT&T.
In my troubleshooting I've linked my girlfriend's phone (sprint) to my account and a co-workers phone (at&t), both forwarded just fine immediately. At this point I'm kind of running out of ideas. I'm thinking I might run down to an AT&T after work and request a new number. Would this be a reasonable thing to do to try to solve the problem? Since i'm such a new customer, do you think I could get that 36$ new number fee waived? Not being able to receive calls forwarded from my Google Voice number is kind of a deal breaker for me, as I'm heavily reliant on that number at this point. If anyone could provide any advice/assistance it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Its a common issue on non-ATT ROMs. ATT's implementation of Voice over LTE (they call it "HD Voice") is messing with your voice calls, and probably SMS as well.
Call ATT, talk to Tier 2 customer service, and ask them to turn off HD Voice, and it should solve your issue.
They may hem or haw that it can't be done, but believe me it can (based on multiple reports here).
