You can't run JB ROMs on your H-boot. Try some sense ROMs, it will work

Did you do a full wipe? What recovery do you use? You need 4ext recovery with smartflash enabled because you're s-on

That's the problem.
I was working on an "official" build for the evo 3d together with madmaxx. But the only issue was the battery..
So if anyone knows how to fix that, please let us know.

I got an email from max about 4ext recovery port.
" Hi,
I'm sorry but you are using an unofficial, unauthorized build of 4EXT Recovery. Support for the Evo is planned, but it hasn't been released yet.
Please tell the guy who ported 4ext recovery to the evo, that he should remove it and wait for an official version.
I cannot support unofficial builds of 4EXT Recovery.
When I release it for the Evo, charging will work!

My evo 3d cant flash any ics rom.
I just rooted yesterday and today i wanted to install virtous rom.
It did show that it was installed succesfully but when i reboot my phone.
it stuck on the htc logo screen....
Any idea why?
Pls help..........

Frist you will need to downgrade to HBOOT 1.49.1107 and then S-OFF your phone.. just rooting it does not help.!!
Just follow this to downgrade :

(SCROLL DOWN until you see : S-OFF & ROOT)

Or if you want to flash Rom S-ON, I think you I'll manually have to flash boot.img using fastboot and then everything should be fine, according to me !

The rom that he want to install does not have boot.img in it for manual installetion.

Can i use this method if my evo is stuck on htc logo right now?
Install 4ext touch recovery and flash the Rom....or flash the boot.img from any other Rom if that Rom doesn't have the boot.img which have the same base using fastboot.....

Sorry for my late respawn !! yes ofc you can... you just have to lock your htc again and run the official RUU and start from ZERO.. its a 20 minutes deal..

Hmmmm...What do you mean you cant install it ?? you got stuck at HTC logo ?? Tomorrow or the day after i am going to upload a full video tutorial how to start from zero in order to be able to flash custom roms unlock/root/S-off-cwm etc...
and about the Victuous rom before you flash it..have you flashed the superuser?

Hi
I did not meant that my phone will stuck on htc logo when flash a new rom. I couldn't install the ics rom in the first place. When i click install zip from the sd card in the recovery. Its shows updating package then, it shows some error on the file.
I thought it was the file at first but i downloaded back and the same error appeared.
I m running custom rom shooter beats right now and thats the only rom that works for me right now.

Anyway to relock my phone? The guide you posted for downgrade says it should only be done with vodaphone Evo 3D's, whatever that is. I have the Sprint CDMA one and am experience the same problem. I have Hboot 1.5

Got the phone relocked just how I wanted, however it was still stuck in bootloop when I tried to restart it.

Download ruu file based on ur cid and install it.
U must flash boot.img using fastboot

You might be right.
But based on my experience, i installed the ruu when my phone stuck in bootloop.
Maybe try both MSK01

before flashing a rom do a proper full wipe i think thats the reason well run this script it'll do the full wipe job instead flash it on 4ext before flashing roms

i tried all of the above....nothing helped
Reflash 4ext with Hassoon's kit.. Or another recovery like clockwork
Then boot to the recovery to set it up (4ext needs to set itself up before use)

the worst thing is that first happened when i was trying to flash CM 10.1 and i was already on JB.......
NOW my phone cant see internal sd card....everytime i want to do something in 4EXT it says cant mount internal sd card

but i mounted internal sd card by simply formatting it
unfortunetely now iam stuck with htc logo......
i tried flash super wipe latest OTA and faux kernelv26 but every time i try to flas kernel i got:
e:cant open/internal_sdcard/ruby-fauxkernel-v26.zip(bad)
any ideas?

Bad download of kernel, redownload it. Make sure smartflash is enabled in 4ext. Reflash rom. Doesnt work try another rom

No, it simply wont flash as it will probably have bad headers. Even if you did succeed in flashing it, it wouldn't bootloop because it's a different system (area). The only way you can brick a phone is by flashing radios/hboot/etc. Even then, it's really hard to do so. You can check for corruption by testing the ZIP with WinRAR.
I'll give you this advice, also. Don't be afraid. Your device is harder to break than you think. Once you root your phone, you're gonna want a ROM. But then you're gonna say 'screw Sense! I want Cyanogenmod!' Now before you know it, you're pimped out on KitKat enjoying the breeze.
If you need any more information, feel free to quote me and ask about what you need.

Thanks mate .. i have lg phone before and softbrick it when i flash a recovery, so this phone is safe to root ? If my recovery fails it will just boot normally like nothing happens? And i can flash new recovery till i succeed?

Yes, with the HTC Evo 3D, flashing a recovery will not hurt you. If it fails, it probably wont flash or wont boot the recovery. You can keep trying.
ROMs wont hurt ya, recoveries one hurt ya, but bootloaders can. So when you change your hboot, be careful. After the years I've had my 3vo though I've learned it's not very difficult to keep this phone in shape .

Dude.. thank you I succesfully rooted my phone and installed cwm recovery.. but now i want to change it to 4ext because i read that 4ext is recommended for s-on users to flash roms.. cn i flash it over cwm?

Yes you can. Just flash it like you flashed CWM. There's no issue with it.

I wrote that 4ext is by far the best for Evo. It's recomended even. You be the judge if it's better than TWRP [emoji6]

I'll take a look when I come home. I think I have 4ext.img on my laptop. In the meantime, try to look for it on the internet. I'm busy right now, so I can't really look around for you

I download and flash latest 4ext recovery but it is so boring and poor UI
Not so many features like twrp
Back to twrp
Thanks for advice
I use 4ext and i think it's the best one around.
4ext is the best for this phone cause i have tried twrp and sometimes when i flash roms with twrp it deosn't work, but 4ext always works
