Did anyone got AOKP stable with the insane chip (sudden death syndrome)? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I've been using AOKP for a week now.
I'm loving this ROM, but, alas, I'm getting some huge stability issues.
I have the dreaded insane chip, that causes the sudden death syndrome.
A solution is to fill up the internal storage using the dummy file generator, that helped, but I'm still getting those.
I'd like to know if anyone has gotten AOKP to run stable on a I9300 with the insane chip, which version of AOKP are you running and if you did anything special to make it stable.
I'm running 2013-10-15.
Thanks!

Its much about the kernel rather than the rom. Try devil kernel, see if its any better for you

Ah OK, thanks.
So, should I install the kernel over my ROM over recovery, or you do first the kernel and then the ROM?
Is a wipe necessary?

Kernels are always included in roms. This means if you flash a rom, you're also overwriting any kernel you had. So rom then kernel via recovery.
For more info have a look in general > sticky roll-up thread > understanding the basics before rooting

OK thanks, will do!!!

rootSU, I'm reading that, very useful, thanks!
Quick and last question, can I brick it by flashing a kernel?
From what I understand, the kernel is part of the /system partition, like ROMs, so if I mess up, I can always get to recovery mode, correct?

Actually it flashes to mmcblk0p5 which is /boot.
Same risk as rom flashing though.

With due respect better first read the guides to know what rom and firmware is. After that read more and then some day try flashing.

Yesturday my phone died with no reason. Cannot boot. Tryed everything. From old roms,moded/stock(like 15), pit files, bootlanders etc...
Every time no pit partition, i searched on internet, and tryed changing computer, changing usb hubs, and everything. Can some 1 pls help me ?
sam galaxy s3 i9300 16 gb
Unfortunately .pit was your last resort. If that failed, you have a NAND issue (internal memory) which usually means a motherboard replacement is required

[Q] bootloader and mobile odin

I installed the official 4.3 firmware via mobile odin pro. afaik mobile odin does not flash or update the bootloader. everything seems fine . my question is, is there any reason to install the new bootloader? using pc odin perhaps from the leak files? im thinking as long as the bootloader i have works it is best to leave it alone. also is there a utility that can identify which bootloader i have?
Afaik the bootloader is irrelevant to the rom or recovery, some people still have the ICS bootloader to avoid the flash counter increasing (even with the danger of SDS it brings).
I read that the newest 4.3 has a 'warranty bit' register, but if that is any different to the normal JB bootloader I don't know.
For the moment I'd wait, it won't do any harm.
I've got ics bootloader still

I've not used official firmware but I can't think of a reason why not

[Q] How to get custom recovery on 4.3 (MJ9)

I am on the official 4.3 MJ9 version. After I rooted my device I tried to install S4 revolution rom from recovery. But it always kept showing "signature verification Failed"error message. Then I downloaded Mobile Odin and flashed the rom through it. Now my problem is that whenever I try to flash a mod it always shows me the "signature verification Failed"error message. So, I am guessing it might be happening as I have not installed any custom recovery. So, Can anyone tell me How to install a custom recovery and which one will work on 4.3?
