I installed a bunch of root apps that ended up putting my phone into a bootloop. I had superuser on it with Titanium backup, and I was able to undo the loop. I am now just stuck on the screen with the triangle after attempting to put a stock ROM on the phone. Its an Epic 4G touch, Im able to get into Recovery and Odin mode. Ive wiped all partitions, dalvik cache, etc. Still stuck. How can I get back into my phone?

Did you install twrp or cwm? Sounds like you wiped the system off and need to install a rom now thru recovery after you put it on your sd card. Dont wipe your sd card. Fallow the steps to install a rom.
i had also face same problem
the i had flashed costom rom and kernal
and also my old backup then also
there is no result
only the in bootloop and open only cwm recovery only
then i had flash custom recovery
it works and my files and app are safe.

I was running the latest CM7 nightly for a while (release 116). I decided to give CM9 a try. I wanted to go back to CM7 so I tried flashing back but something went wrong. I had backup so I tried restoring that in CWM but it gave me a checksum error.
So I tried out the vanilla ICS 4.0.3 (KP8) build using odin. Used it for a bit and then decided to go back to CM7. I flashed to my original OS using ODIN, rooted the phone. Now, whenever I try to flash anything in CWM, it installs but then just goes into a endless boot sequences. Tried flashing MIUI and CM7 with no luck.
I'm on a rooted KI3 release atm.
How can I completely wipe my phone? I've reformatted my external and usb storage with no luck.

Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
Root with same CWM as backup .
Boot recovery restore backup .

Thanks! Following the processes. Wasn't able to unmount SD card to format it but /data /system and /cache formatted fine. *crosses fingers*
going to use a freshly downloaded copy of CM7 nightly too incase my old zip got corrupted somehow.
I can install my stock firmware and root it with odin.
But, once I try to install Rom Manager and update CWM recovery things start going wrong. It reboots into the regular android recovery console and fails to install the update.
But, if I battery pull and boot into recovery it boots into CWM recovery 4.0.0.5. I can apply the update.zip ROM manager downloaded. But, then when I try to flash anything it doesn't install properly and I get stuck in an endless boot loop. Can't even boot into recovery. Have to start all over again with ODIN.
Rom Manager is causing you grief.
Had a similar thing happen a while back. I wouldn't use it at all if I were you and stick to using CW Recovery. I don't know the why/how/wherefore, I just know that time I tried to use it, it broke recovery & put me in a bootloop same as you.
Had ICScrewed running for 4+ months and out of nowhere phone won't boot and is stuck in samsung bootloop.
I have searched and can't seem to get any solutions to work. I have done so much crap I am thoroughly confused as to what I have done and what I haven't tried yet.
Someone please send me in the right direction.
Right now last thing I flashed was "I777UCKH7 OCD Root No BL" oneclick.
Any ideas? I appreciate your help!!
Something changed to trigger the bootloop. If you can pinpoint some event that occured just before it, that might help determine a solution.
From what you say, you must now have stock UCKH7 installed. If you can boot into 3e recovery mode, try a wipe data/factory reset, and clearing anything that it will let you clear. Don't remember the stock recovery very well.
Or, if the bootloop will let you get into 3e recovery, you could flash a custom kernel back onto the phone, enter recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache, etc. Also, if you have a nandroid backup, from custom recovery you can restore the backup to get your phone to boot again.
If you need specialized files to flash to recover the phone, you will find them in the Download Repository, linked in my signature.

I didn't do anything I can think of that would trigger this. I can't get into 3e Recovery it says "Deleting Cryption Meta Data" and just reboots.
I flashed via odin "SGH-I777_ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.0.2.3.tar" That gets me into CWM Recovery... i wiped data/factory reset... cleared cache... doesn't help.
Then I tried SD card to load a custom ROM and everything on the external SD card is completely not what shows up when i have it in my computer.
I am so lost.

I just got a custom rom onto /sd with Droid Explorer and renamed it update and it installed but is still stuck in bootloop.
Any ideas? I need my phone for my business I am soo screwed!
Flashed SiyahKernel v2.6.14 and with stock rom it works. Thanks!
Be sure to make a nandroid backup once you have it configured the way you want. Restoring a nandroid backup is the first thing I would try if that type of problem ever happens again.
Hi guys.
I got a problem.
Got tired of lags, so i decided to wipe (data + dalvik) and reinstall Omega 27.1.
Now i can't boot up the phone - it just starts up CWM (6.0.1.2) when i reboot. Have tried to pull battery and when i insert it recovery just comes up.
What have i missed?
I have tried to install again, with and without wipes but still the same.
Can't restore nandroid either. Getting error on restoring /data, and just comes back to CWM again.
I'm kinda stuck.. ideas?
EDIT:
Just did a nandroid restore, error on restoring /data as always, but i rebooted and got into Android. I had to type in my google account information again, and all apps crashes all the time.
So I rebooted to recovery, and installed 27.1 (did a full wipe again), and now i can't get past recovery again.
Wtf?

Yes, it seems to be the only thing to do..
But does anyone know what is causing this?
Can't be the boot.img, because restoring the boot (wipes+restores) doesn't work. And installing a new rom also adds a new boot.img.
Been using twrp since rooting note II. I wanted to try out 4.4 PA but they said to only use cwm. It was late so I decided to be lazy and since I used to use rom manager all the time I installed it to flash cwm recovery then booted into recovery to install touch version. It wasn't showing the touch version so selected to restart to check to see where I saved it to it would not boot past the first "note II" splash screen. Battery pull then back into recovery and went ahead and flashed PA 4.4 and now it will get past the splash screen then shows boot animation but then starts all over.
Is this a rom manager issue?
can I flash twrp from within cwm recovery?
will I have to basically reroot it?
Any suggestions on how to get back to twrp and to a usable phone?
thanks
If you download a .zip of twrp and flash it you will have twrp for your recovery.
As long as you flash a rooted rom, you will be rooted.
Not sure what happened with the boot loop, did you by chance wipe the system without flashing another before booting?

Nope did my standard wipe cache, wipe dalvik, and factory reset then flashed rom then gapps. Going to go back to twrp and wait for 4.4 to be more stable before I try it out again and maybe then I can use twrp to flash it.
thanks for the help

Have you wiped data at all? You need to wipe data / factory reset when switching roms, and it sounds like you havent.

As stated above, on both cwm and twrp I wiped caches and did factory reset and still having the issues. Once back on twrp I even formatted internal memory thinking maybe rom manager messed something up on it and still can't get passed the splash screen.

Copy a ROM to your SD card (external not internal)
Install cwm and format data (actually full format, where /data/media gets wiped) and system
Install rom
Reboot
TWRP has some issues randomly with corrupting /data, that's why I no longer use it.

Finally got it. Thought using odin to flash back to root 66 and start fresh would work but after that it was still going to the splash screen then black and a battery pull had to be done. TWRP back ups would fail when trying to restore, so I reverted back to an older version of twrp and it finally let a back up be installed and it booted up just fine!!
thanks for all the suggestions
Im having a similar problem to yours, I am using twrp and flashed PA 3.99 the phone works great, but if my battery dies or i restart the phone or shut it down it automatically wont get passed the samsung logo, or sometimes the PA logo, the only work arounds ive seen to it is to wipe the cache and dalvik to boot, but when that fails i have to install the whole rom over again. any ideas?
Hi everyone, I have a problem with my phone.
It is no longer booting into the OS, instead it boots into the recovery mode.
So here's what happened. I was on Google Play Store looking for some utility apps, and found this "[ROOT] Rashr" app, read its details and got interested in it since I also do wanna try to back up my CWM Recovery. I don't even completely understand what it means, but as what the apps says, I really thought that with it, backing up my recovery will be very easy, just like how ROM is backed up when you do a NANDroid backup. So, after it was installed, I head on to its Back-Up section, ticked the box for "Recovery", and tapped on "Go", expecting that it would work. It said "Rebooting..." and booted to recovery mode, so I thought that I had to complete the "Recovery Back-Up" inside CWM, so I spent time looking through the options. And, this is where I discovered that CWM has a rainbow color mode. When I found out that no signs of back up could be done in CWM, I rebooted from within CWM. BUT, it still booted to Recovery Mode.
I tried . . .
Odin, but since it boots only to recovery, Odin isn't detecting it.
Wiped the data, cache partition, and Dalvik cache. Then restore.
Can this be fixed? I badly need help.
I have:
CWM Recovery v6.0.3.6 (used when I rooted the phone), updated to v6.0.4.5 (current)
Stock ROM 4.1.2
Recent NANDroid Backup
Any inputs will be very much appreciated. Thanks.
No intention of giving the "Rashr" app a bad name. I just didn't know how to use it.

I never thought the solution would be that simple. Hehe Thanks manoj. :good:
Finally fixed it!
What I did:
1) Flashed the stock Recovery. I was surprised it was able to boot to Android cause I was thinking that the zip is only the stock recovery. It had errors though. Home Screen won't appear or load.
2) When rebooted, it got stuck in SAMSUNG boot animation, but it was all good cause Odin was still able to detect it which means it can still be rooted. So . . .
3) Flashed CWM Recovery v6.0.3.6
3) Wiped data, cache partition, and Dalvik cache.
4) Restored the backup.
