Then when you start the app go to framework and it will ask for root permissions, click yes. Click install and the files will be pushed to its location. Reboot and its done :good:

Wildfire or Legend for apps?

Hi,
I'm looking for a replacement for my HTC touch diamond, and the Wildfire seems like a good choice when it comes to size and cost. But what about the screen resolution; will there be a very limited amount of apps for qvga? Should I spend some more and get the Legend instead?
yes the amount of apps is limited because not all devs updated their apps for qvga
and a few apps are very slow on the wildfire, the one where is a lot of graphics or the cpu needs to calculate much
but there are still a lot of apps
and a lot of them work very fine

You have lots of applications Thanks for the list but is there a certain program you downloaded from the market only to find out it does not work on the device? Have you came across programs that does not work on QVGA resolution?
Homerun Battle 3d does not work on QVGA, you can download but it will not launch
thats what i find out so far
to my knowledge this is already filtered out from our perview. so the market for desire is different for wildfire based on what the device is capable of. for example i wanted skyfire to play flash web content; this is available on my mates desire but not on my wildfire, until they update their app.
the only app i've had trouble with is the ebook reader alkido? it loses sync with the page dimensions after a few pages, can't correct through changing page margins or other settings. trying other ebook readers, to no avail. guess it doesn't make a very good ebook reader at any rate. still like the option tho
very happy with wildfire, tough choice to choose between the desire and wildfire, in the end i got it for £9per month with redemption (if i remember) on 18 month 3gig internet with t mobile. desire was £20pm 18month, 3gig download tmobile, but with a huge and undefined waiting list...istill have yet to cancel that one

[Q] If you could only have 5 apps/ Recommend 5 apps

What would they be? Doesn't matter if they are free or you pay, just they are dependable and useful and work well with Nook Color?
Gmail/K9 (in other words, an email app. Gmail likes to crap out, so I switch to k9)
Perfect Viewer (the best comic/manga viewer)
Youtube
Dolphin HD (wish I could say Firefox was my go to browser, but it still doesn't work well)
Rockplayer (wish it was VLC. WHERE ARE YOU VLC?!)
Winamp
shoot. I forgot about Doggcatcher. I might have swap Youtube out for Doggcatcher.
MangaWhat! Great manga reader until Viz Media and the ilk get a nook app going.
Root Explorer Talk about getting full control of the nook color
Dropbox No longer need to transfer things from my computer by usb cable
Perfect Viewer Totally agree this thing is great
Xda Developers Premium Need I say more?
Gmail
Dolphin HD
Astro
Youtube HQ
VLC convert and stream (and VLC on your computer)
Should take care of most of your needs on a stock rooted Nook.
I more than five that I highly recommend
1. IMO - free multi chat app - runs great
2. Manga Watcher - Love it amazing for my Naruto fix
3. Pulse News and MoreGood News HD - both free
4. Dropbox - cloud storage and then some - free
5. Yahoo! Mail works amazing on nook
6. Advanced Task Killer - Kills apps from running on the background and taking up precious memory
7. CraigsNotification - free craigslist app that I love
8. Facebook is fun
9. dolphin brower or xcope 6 works amazing
10.Pageonce - bill management
1. Newsrob for RSS feeds
2. Root Explorer
3. Plume for Twitter
4. Angry Birds Seasons for obvious reasons
5. Titanium Backup
I also have to recommend Manga Watcher because it's so good, but more of a preference than necessity.
Rooting/Modding Apps
1. Titanium Backup - Clear app data, backup apps
2. Rom Manager - Clockwork Recovery saves all
3. Autostarts - prevents apps from launching by themselves
4. Hot reboot - I'm lazy and this is a big time saver
Day to day/productivity apps
1. Zeam launcher - best launcher for the nook, clean and easy to use
2. Dolphin browser mini or HD. Best browser for android, hd or mini depends on personal preference
3. Dropbox - Perfect for syncing files between my PC, Mac at work, Droid X and Nook
4. Tapatalk pro - for reading forums
5. Pandora - cos music rules

I can't seem to get Zeam to work properly.
I use ADW and decided to try Zeam and I choose it as my home but there's no dock bar. There's nothing on the workspaces actually, except for the standard nook color bar (i'm on a stock rooted) and the three dots at the top to tell you what screen you're on.
I tried restarting it and nothing. When i try to add a shortcut, the screen flicks as if it were going to bring up a menu, but it just goes back to the main screen
:T
1.. button savior - softkeys is fugly
2.. clockworkmod - installing new roms is fun, back up is important
3.. root explorer - too many reasons
4.. market - for obvious reasons
5.. adb/sdk tools - id hate to think what id have to do w/o em

Apps
Hi,
Here are my most used:
Button Savior - I like it best of the 'on screen' button apps.
NewsRob - google rss compatible news reader. night mode (paid)
FBReader - epub ebook reader. Has nice night mode and pleasant to use.
Repligo PDF reader - seems to reflow PDF text the best. (Paid)
Calibre Library - (Paid) to access Calibre ebook library on PC over WiFi.
FBSync - syncs the FBReader library to Dropbox, including books and progress.
Good for when you are reloading too many ROMs!
XDA-Developers (or premium) - for reading these forums!
Quick settings - Lives in notification bar to adjust brightness/WiFi etc.
Other:
Dropbox - handy for everything. Cloud Storage at least 2GB with easy access.
Terminal emulator - for accessing the linux command line.
Astro file manager - for file system browsing.
Screen filter - dims screen past system dimming levels. Lives in notification
bar and as a widget(?)
Simi Clock - a clock widget.
On my phone I also use Evernote for capturing quick notes/sharing with
my other devices.
Peter
Mine
File Expert
RockPlayer lite
DolphinHD

System:
Launcher Pro Plus (Great alternative launcher, milti-docks, transitions)
Clockwork mod (Dat backup)
Rom Manager (Flashing CWM, Roms)
Spare Parts (IF not on your device, get it)
cpu tuner (Great free version of set cpu)
Utilities:
Color Flashlight (Sooo bright)
QQ player (dem videos)
Evernote (Note taking app)
imediashare (Connect to devices via wireless, ps3, 360)
Battery Booster (Info on battery)
APPS:
NHL gamecenter (Cause hockey is awesome)
Pules (Great news agrigator)
XDA
Dolphin HD (Hands down best browser for the nook color)
Quick system info (Monitor your cycles and memories)
Games:
Meteor Blitz (3D top-down shooter, my personal fav... it's $1 people)
PewPew (2D Top-down shooter)
Crystal Defenders (Final Fantasy inspired tower defense)
Gun Bros (pure awesome)
Dungen Hunter (Simple diablo-type 3D action-arcade)
Dolphin Mini ( (I prefer it over its bigger brother. Sleek, but functional. Smoothest scrolling I've found)
Launch-X Free (a widget that pretty much replaced my app launcher)
Öffi (In Germany, this is a life-saver. Even better on my Wildfire. See if it works for your place)
Pulse (Most used app hands down)
Fleya (Breathtaking Fluid simulator)
Firefox - Man, I love this app. The syncing, the navigation... everything
Pulse - Just perfect for the Nook
Aldiko - Great for my library books (free legal e-books!!)
Dropbox - I use it for everything
ReadItLater - I just started using this app, but I already see a huge value in having an "everywhere" synced list. I can use the browser extension/plugin to throw pages to my nook for offline reading when there's no internet... and I can "share to" pages from my nook for websites that have content that my nook can't handle or need a PC (I read a lot of indie game feeds in pulse).

Good thing you kept it to only 5 apps.
Gmail
Dolphin Browser HD
Kindle
Aldiko
ACV comics viewer
1. Firefox - I live with its flaws as it has the best browser GUI IMHO
2. Quick Office HD - from the Norton thread, kinda a life saver
3. Market Nook App - I don't read books, but you gotta show the page turn animation to people over 40 or they don't believe you have a tablet (no offense)
4. Angry Birds - The under -40 show off app
5. Snesoid lite - Mario Kart on Nook
Honorable mention: AirAttack HD Lite, Doodle Bowling, Genial Writing, FPse, Glow Hockey, tv.com

This list looks good. I just rooted my RAZR (I was a little nervous about it) but will look into ROM Toolbox. I have seen it mentioned several times in the forums. Same thing with Bootmenu. I downloaded Tasker about a week ago and am still trying to figure it out...can you recommend any good tutorials? I am not
updated in recent post.

Launcher - currently using Nova, and absolutely loving it. Used Apex for quite a while.
Music player - I purchased Poweramp, and use(d) that for quite a while. Really liking n7player, as well. Dood's Music Streamer is great for listening to Grooveshark; although I think it was recently pulled from the market.
Games - Bad Piggies has me hooked currently (I'm a sucker for well-polished games, as well as building anything). Flow Free is one of those games I can just keep playing through.
Browser - Used ICS Browser+ and loved it, but it doesn't work on my current ROM. Quick ICS Browser seems to be functionally similar. The default Browser isn't bad, either. For some reason, I just can't get myself to use Chrome.
Utilities/Misc - utilitas for flashlight, etc. For it's brilliant premise and usefulness, even though I'm sure everyone already uses it, I just love JuiceDefender. It works on such a simple premise and just works (TM).
