[Q] Custom kernel for ARHD not downloading - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hey guys, not sure if I'm on the right forum section but I tried looking for answer and couldn't find it. My question is why cant I download a custom kernel as I always have? As soon as I flash the ElementalX kernel for my ARHD 31.0 ROM it only stops at 10% and then my HTC One reboots by itself. My device is S- ON and I'm running TWRP recovery 2.6.1. Please help. Thanks

Anyone?

Where are you downloading from? Try going to the respective kernel thread and downloading directly from there. Might be the host that's having issue. Goo.im was having problems and some download links don't work any longer and had to be recreated and/or mirrored.

From the same site as always. I download it, and flash it the same way I always have. I updated my custom recovery too and nothing happens.

If you have checked the MD5, then I'm not sure what would cause the issue.

Do a Google search on what an md5 is and grab a utility to check them.

[Q] An error occurred while downloading the developer list.

It's popping up with this error when I click Download ROM in ROM Manager. Anyone else run into this one after flashing the AT&T specific SGS2 recovery? Also, is there a way to fix this or am I waiting for a ROM Manager/Flash update?
Edit: Now I'm seeing Cerberus, Superuser, and google apps under the free section, but nothing under the Premium.

Don't use Rom Manager, just download whatever rom you want from the dev section on the site and place it on your phone. Flash from there. Rom Manager is usually nothing but problems

CM7 just went live (stable) for the ATT version, would it be ok to use RomManager now?
My opinion - get yourself out of the habit of using it. I would not consider it OK and will never consider it OK given my past experiences with it.

Stock untouched, deodexed, rooted, with busybox support.
You guys want a debloat, I can do that also.
But you can also debloat a rooted rom however you wish.
Please debloat it Santod :]

Exactly ! Isn't that one major reason/benefit for rooting ? That is, so the user can remove "bloat" ?
Know what will happen ? You'll create a debloated version and some will complain that you removed "that program" or "this program" !!
Noob question - Debloated ICS
This might be a dumb question and if so, please forgive me. I learned to root and flash ROMs in December, I'm currently running Liquid ICS v1.5 MR3.But I don't know a thing about kernels and I'm wary of flashing radios. So my question is - is Santod (or any developer for that matter) working on a ROM for the official ICS that you can just flash (without messing with radios and kernels and other steps)? Is that what he/they mean when they say they are working on a "build". I'm "ok" flashing ROMs and I'd like to have the "official" ICS, but if it requires that level of technicality, I'll unroot and download the OTA.
Any info you could provide would be helpful.

Thanks! I saw that when he posted it, but based on the instructions (as I read them) you have to flash the radio THEN the ROM. Am I not understanding the instructions? That was my concern - bricking it while trying to flash the radio.

Correct.
Flash the radio through bootloader.
Then the rom in recovery.

if you got as far as rooting and flashing a rom, then you can flash a radio. don't be afraid of it. it's no more difficult than flashing a rom, and much easier than actually rooting.
Thanks

There are multiple mirrors on the host server.
Did you try any of them?
Nobody else has been having any issues.
Not one report actually.
Try from a different browser and mirror.
Downloading via mobile rarely works and is not recommended.
I tried downloading it from my phone yesterday...no dice. I was able to download it on my computer and transfer it to the phone though.

Tried all different kinds of things. Couldn't do it on the laptop usign wi-fi. So then I used the actual phone and I was able to do it in about 15 minutes using 4G. Thanks!
One other question. If I flash your NuSense Unsense ROM (but don't change the radios) will I have the basic functionality of the "official" ICS? I love the lack of data drops but I HATE the "sense". Could I use an "old" ROM and a "new" radio for this stability?
Getting a no MD5 file found error during install. Does that mean anything to you guys? Just started looking into this stuff yesterday and rooted it so I could get a hotspot.

Either place the md5 for the rom zip on the sd card, or remove the md5 sum check that the recovery is doing.
There should be a setting to disable the md5 sum check in Recovery.
MD5 sum is a digital signature that verifies that the file is complete or not.
Just disable the check for it and you can install without it.

I need to repost this question again. I didn't the answer I needed.
I have a Verizon Note 2 that I want to sell because I got the Note 3.
I need to go back to a stock ROM. I am rooted via TWRP. I am little new at this part of rooting. Can someone recommend a stock ROM I can use so I can get my phone ready for sale?
All I need is to find a Verizon Note 2 Stock ROM. I want to keep it rooted, but back to stock ROM.
I can't find one.
Can anyone assist me please!
THANKS!

If you just want stock root and keep the unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, you should be able to flash this in recovery.

[Q] Need help! Samsung I9300 wifi refuses to work - new rom? new kernel? please help!

The wifi on my Samsung S3 GT-I9300 device won't work. It just toggles on/off/on/off when I attempt to turn it on. I purchased the phone with the following already installed on it:
CWM
SuperSU
Android Version 4.2.2
Kernel Version - (says here in the about screen) 3.0.31-611730
Build number - Omega v45 - XXUFME3
I've done a LOT of searching here on XDA but I just find myself lost in a world of information. I found a video on youtube, but it's for the S4 and doesn't offer links to the correct files for the S3. Some have told me flash a new ROM and other a new Kernel, but because of version numbers, and not wanting to brick this phone... i'm not sure where to start...
Please would someone be willing to help me out? I am living in Honduras and the service I use is prepay here.. wifi is a HUGE money savings for me here. Many thanks to whoever is willing...
If it is an i9300 then download a stock firmware from sammobile that will work in your country (3G signal). Follow the guide in general forum on how to flash. Factory reset in recovery before first boot.
Test wifi before you install or restore anything, if still the same then it's a hardware fault.

Thanks for the direction!! I downloaded the file, however when I attempt to open it with WinRAR i'm getting this error message..
"! C:\Users\Heather\Desktop\I9300XXUGND5_I9300AUTGNE1_AUT (1).zip: Unexpected end of archive"

any ideas on what I might be able to do?

Unexpected end of file means you have a corrupt download. Just download the firmware file again. If all else fails, look for a post in the S3 General thread regarding a complete back to stock method.

The versions and software in my phone is all different than before, but the wifi still won't turn on. I click the button to turn on wifi... it thinks for about 3 seconds and then just switches back to the off position.
Any ideas what might have gone wrong? or what I might be able to try now?

Wifi is related to kernel if you have changed roms ( which also changes kernel) then most likely it is hardware fault you could try flashing just a custom kernel and if the problem is still there then it is most likely hardware issue.

Well.. I suppose it couldn't hurt to attempt a custom kernel, so the next question would be... any advice on which kernel I should attempt, and how exactly do I flash a kernel?

This is the newer T-Mobile ICS RUU--see if you can download it from here.
http://www.filedropper.com/ph85imgr...radio114550l17dc3078550l15release259626signed
If not, see if a friend can download it and give it to you or see if you can get it some other way.
I don't recall if we need to update the radio or not--we'll address that after you've tried out the RUU.
Also, be sure to read about what you are trying to do--there are guides and plenty of info on how to do whatever you want to do, you simply need to search for it.

Yes, only I think you ought to find some instructions to be sure you're doing it properly, and be prepared to do some research if it at first fails. Also, it would be REALLY good to check the MD5.
