Please help me guys. HTC Sync Manager - recover overwritten backup file possible? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hey guys. I updated to jelly bean just this morning. I had a backup on HTC sync manager which I created the previous night. When I synced my newly updated phone, HTC sync manager overwrote the essential backup that I have. Now I'm stuck with an empty phone. All my files are gone.
Is there any way to somehow recover the backup file on my computer? Do you guys think a system restore would bring my backup back?
The most important part of that backup was my whatsapp backup database file (.crypt)
I would do anything and everything it takes..
Please help me.. my last resort is to root my phone and somehow try to recover the deleted file on my internal memory.. which I don't even know if that's going to work.. people say that deleted files stay on internal memory till your device needs the space, that's when it gets completely rid of everything..
Please help I'm feeling very hopeless..
Thank you..

[Q] help! my nand backup got auto deleted

help clockworkmod seem to auto delete my nand backups, actually it not clockworkmod i think anyway when my phone got a bootloop i wanted to advance recover the bootup but all my backup was kind off deleted ,the folder for the backup is there back there nothing inside.
galaxy ace on cyanomod
theres nothing u can do if its already deleted
you right
lols yeah i know ,but why and how it was deleted to prevent it from happening again:?
ive never had such problem, and i think cwm arent capable of deleting the backup itself. it'll just create backup until ur sdcard is full, none of previous backup got deleted. i think theres another culprit that delete ur backup, pretty sure its not cwm.

[Q] Restoring apps

Hello, after rooting and attempting to flash ClockworkMod on my LG Optimus 2X (P-9999DW), I got stuck in the endless reboot loop, so I had to do a hard factory reset. I lost all my apps, but I had previously moved the contents of my phone's internal SD card (totaling 647 MB) to a folder on my Windows 7 machine. I'm really new to Android phones so I didn't know that one could back up apps through Titanium Backup. When I move the contents of the file to my phone, the phone doesn't recognize any of the old apps I had. I still have the 'Superuser' app from root, though. I had a couple of games with full save data in my 'backup' folder too. I'd love to get them back on my phone somehow.
Is there any way to view my app history from my Gmail account so that I can download them again manually? Or is there some program I can use to put the apps from the backup that I saved on my computer back on my phone? Please help a silly noob out! Thank you.
P.S. Ever since I did the hard reset, my phone's SIM card isn't showing up. Should I call my mobile service provider, or is it just a technical issue? Please answer!
TitaniumBackup should solve it...
maybe under me smarter,heuheuheu...

[Q] Urgent Help needed (deleted apps)

I have a problem that is causing me a lot of stress and have been unable to think of and find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Today a friend of mine was looking through my phone and commented at how my internal storage was almost gone. He said that he could free up some space and so I obliged, as he knew his way around phones quite well. He was looking through a folder and commented that there were some .apk files that could be deleted to free up space. Thinking they were files I had gotten from downloads, I said it was OK to delete them. This was my mistake, as I should have asked where exactly these files were. He deletes the files and my internal storage frees up a few dozen megabytes. This is where everything went to hell. As soon as he finished deleting those .apk files applications start force closing one after another. Thinking it was a glitch he shuts down and restarts the phone. Upon restart, I find ALL my applications gone. The icons are gone and when clicking a spot where an application used to be, it says application not found.
My phone is rooted using DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit.
I HAD Titanium Backup (root) installed before this mess started.
I HAD rootexplorer installed as well.
Upon further investigation, my friend told me that he had deleted these .apk files from the phone memory under a data folder. He couldn't get more specific than that. He accessed these files through rootexplorer.
I seriously don't know what to do and am about to cry.
I thought that by reinstalling google play and titanium backup I'd be able to restore these applications but I can't even install the downloaded .apks from the internet. Tried putting it on my SD card and opening it but it doesn't recognize any program to install. I thought of using the Sony Ericsson PC Companion to install the .apks but don't know how my phone will be affected since it's been rooted using DooMLoRD's method.
Someone please help. I'm still a newbie with all of this and don't really know what I'm doing. Searches for similar problems on the internet haven't proven useful at all. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Okay. You need to loose all your data. Take back up of contacts. It should be possible with the stock contacts app. And your msgs if you want.
Then do a factory reset. You will need to download your apps all over again. And if you had taken back up using titanium backup, you will be able to reinstall titanium back up after the factory reset. And you can restore things.
Thanks,
Rick

Your solution worked. Lost some data restoring a Titanium backup a couple days old but it's better than having everything missing. Thanks!

Help me to restore Titanium Bk data

It's a very bad time when you are not using WhatsApp. The thing is I was using s3 with root and many more. And I always use to take backup with titanium application. I took WhatsApp backup in my s3. Unfortunately in last week my s3 gets wet and now it won't work. But I have that backup file in my sdcard. Yesterday I bought galaxy a5 which I don't want root ri8 now. The main problem is I want restore my WhatsApp data. Because I was using my wp on my very old number and now I couldn't able to do verification of wp again. So I had this problem many time but now because of new phone it's very difficult to restore because tb ask for root access. I want to use my wp on my old number so please help me. Hw can I restore my tb data in my new phone which is not yet root..?
I have no full solution, but just an idea. In your TitaniumBackup folder, you should find a tar.gz file with the name of the WhatsApp apk. In there, you should find a data folder and then a /. folder, in which there should be the actual data used by WhatsApp. Then, if your new device accepts that, you should be able to push with adb these files and folders to the new data folder of your new installatation of WhatsApp.
I have never tested anything like that, so I don't take any responsibility, but it is an idea based on Helium from Clockworkmod which uses this trick.

[Q] Can't see my TWRP Backup, Can't restore from old Backup

Hey guys, I'm trying to restore one of my backups from my old HTC One M8 as I recently got a replacement one through warranty. I finished rooting it and made a stock backup using TWRP but now I can't seem to see/find the backup folder. I know it's taking up space and If I want to restore from that backup I can through recovery but I cant seem to find the folder when looking at my storage on my computer. Because of this it is impossible (at least I think it is) for me to put my old backup in that folder and restore from there so I can have all my data again. I also keep on getting this message whenever launching TWRP about my SD card not being writeable yet whenever I click yes to install the patch my phone reboots and when I go back to TWRP I get the same message. I can send screenshots later if you guys would like but I really need some help here. Thanks everyone, and feel free to move this thread if it's in the wrong section, I'm new to this site.
MTP is crap and you should use adb pull for transfering files,
if you are making the backup in the internal storage you can do:
adb pull /data/media/0/TWRP /Users/????/Desktop/
replace ??? with your account name in windows
