[Q] Multiple "horizontal "colours on screen when booting - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I am going put this in Three parts(so you would know everything that happened),get to "the point" if you are in a hurry:silly:
Background:
(So I got my -fairly-new Galaxy s2 i9100G,Suffering from the disappointment of not being able to upgrade android and driven by the encouragement of a friend i decided to install CyanogenMod.)
So i followed the instructions on CyanogenMod website...However i followed the I9100 instructions not the I9100 G's.
so yea i "soft" bricked my phone,After filling a bathtub of worry sweat/tears and with help from the internet i used ODIN and flashed it then followed the right tutorial and installed CyanogeMod
The point:
My phone is working...fairly fine,No major complaints,However whenever i boot it for a second the screen makes these weird colours(pic i found on the internet attached) then the cyanogemod logo appears and my phone is working,It just happens for an instant every time i boot it.
The question-s:
1.Why is this happening?
2.how is this fixed?
3.whats the danger in short/long run would i face if i didn't fix it?
please take your time to answer the questions(especially no. 3) if you know the answer,I am patiently waiting for it ,Thanks
(my first experience rooting my phone have left my emotionally scarred but if it must be done,I will...probably do it)

Anyone?

*wind blowing sound* I do need a answer,if you don't know, maybe mention someone who might do? XD thanks

[Q] Bricked SGS2 GT-i9100M (Bell/Virgin)

Okay, So I am as NOOB as NOOB can be,
I got a used SGS2 (Bell/Virgin), I am on Telus so I figured, how hard can it be to unlock it instead of paying some dude to do it for me? (First mistake, and have been humbled every step of the way since!...)
Anyway I will try to keep this relatively short (it will be difficult)... ...I read a few things online and saw that I needed ODIN and a Rooting software, I originally used SuperOneClick, and to download the right insecure kernel to match my original one etc... ...problem is I obviously didn't read nearly enough when I started because I was almost done and then there was a hiccup when SuperOneClick said that I needed to enable SU in Kies. So I decided to go into Kies to try and do so but the instructions before I started Rooting said to put the phone in USB debugging mode. Apparently Kies doesn't see the phone if it is in that mode. Well by this time I can't get past the logo screen and this is where my downward spiral begins.
I then tried to unroot the phone to go back to stock but didn't really know what I was doing and then I read something about the cache needing to be wiped and then after that I read that maybe my OS was wiped. So at this point I did lots of reading (what I should have done in the first place) and most of anything useful I found was on XDA so that is why I am here. It seemed like yes, in fact my OS was wiped because of one of my not so S-M-R-T actions. So I fumbled through and found the right OS for my S2 and I had ODIN going strong and I had the OS loading, the green bar getting bigger in ODIN and the blue bar working it's way across the screen of my S2...I thought "finally!!, I rock!!"... ...then for some reason everything stopped! I had seen in a post that I had to uninstall Kies before doing anything, which I did...but I didn't see until after the fact that my anti-virus likely interfered (I didn't disable it for the process before I started).
At that point of course I was left with a phone that says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
So then I was afraid to try anything else because many say to steer clear of Kies and also I had read that I may need a USB jig to be able to get it back into download mode because all I was getting was the "firmware upgrade issue" screen. I did make a USB jig with a resistance of 300K Ohms and I *can* get the phone into download mode. (Though another concern is that when I plug the USB jig in and it brings the phone into download mode, the counter is not reset and I read that that was supposed to be reset by the jig.)
So last night I got brave and decided to try and run ODIN and to have another attempt at installation of OS. Now I can get ODIN to detect the phone, but I put the I9100MUGLD3_I9100MBMCLD3_I9100MXXLD3_HOME.tar.md5 file into the PDA section of ODIN and it starts and gets to the part where it says loading firmware or something and then bootload.bin and it stayed like that for like, an hour and then I gave up, fearing that I am just going to screw it up even more.
So now I decided that I am not even close to knowing what to do next but every time I found anything to move forward it was on this site so I figured I may as well join the site since I have been here so often. Now I am hoping for some kind of miracle...so, in advance, please please please and thank you thank you thank you all for your input. (Sorry for the length of this I just wanted to get all the info I could into this)
Its quite a long story and didnt bother reading it.
If you can still access your phone via odin at downloadmode. Flash a stock firmware for your device and it should fix if it is just a soft brick.

Sorry for the length of the story, I thought there may be alot of useful info mixed in with the useless info... ...when you say use stock firmware do you mean the kernel or the actual OS? I tried loading ICS onto it (which I thought was stock but I may be wrong). Is it supposed to be gingerbread or something else? Also where would I find a good file for it.
Thank you again for any input, very much appreciated!

Thank you all so much for your help, I could not get it to work after several tries, I even tried three or 4 different USB cables and ports on my PC and still no. I read on another thread that one person tried another PC and it worked so I tried my friend's laptop and it worked!...my SGS2 boots up and all that now! Very very happy thank you all.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 2 Screen Problem (and unrooting)

Hi everyone,
I have bought galaxy tab 2 p5110 last weekend and when i started it up, the screen was unresponsive.. so I locked the screen and when I unlocked it worked normal. I used it for couple of hours then I gave it to a friend for him to root it.. he installed ClockworkMod, CryogenMod, used Odin etc and set up android 4.2.2
However this screen issue hit back later and it still continues for more than a week.. If i have to describe the issue a bit more detailed: "when I unlock the tablet, if i dont click on anything, sometimes the screen becomes unresponsive so i have to lock and unlock it again only then it works fine for hours. It used to happaned rarely now it happens a lot more often.. Now it also happens during games or while surfing as well so it is even more annoying."
Now that we have rooted it, I can't return it to store bec we violated the warranty. So I need a solution for either to solve this screen problem or I need to return this to out-of-box state untill this saturday so that I can return it to store before return date expires. But unfortunately we dont know how to turn it back to out of box state.
P.S. I ve searched a lot but i couldnt find a way to remove CWM. I guess I also will need to use Triangle Away to reset the counter? Somewhere it was written that i will need to find and install stock rom or recovery rom i dont know what exactly. I found the p5110 4.0.4 firmware for my country but not sure if it will be useful. To cut the story short: I am new to this rooting talks but If someone could detail me what to do step by step, my experienced friend may do it for me.
I appreciate any suggestion..
Thank you very much everyone in advance!
Unroot using any unrooting app or use adb shell

[Q] Recovery refuses to work

This problem probably has shown up a lot and usually I would take my time to look around before asking but I'm feeling lazy so here goes:
I recently put in a new-ish ROM (it's am US stock type ROM that I found on here) and all works well except for one thing - the CWM refuses to load. At first I was getting the dead android with the red triangle sticking out and so I decided to use ROM Manager to flash CWM again. Might have been a bad move since I'm still fairly noob-ish but anyhow it didn't work. Now whenever I try to go in it just freezes. If I try manually it shows the RCK box, android box, etc and just stays there. When I try to do it through ROM Manager it stays at the first ASUS logo. Can someone refer me to a guide I could follow or even give me a solution to fix this? I will be very grateful. Thank you in advance.

[Q] Please please help this noob out!

As previously stated I am a complete noob when it comes to flashing android devices.
Here is the problem I am faced with: I recently rooted, and unlocked the bootloader on my atrix hd (ATT)
Since then I tried installing cm10.1 multiple times on the secondary "Rom slots" within the bootloader, without any success. So I finally decided to go for it and install cm10.1 in the "stock rom" slot, Prior to doing this I did a back-up using Rom manager. Aand now I seemingly can't even boot into recovery mode, every time I restart my device it simply goes to the cyanogenmod blue ring thingy and gets stuck! (I have left it for 15-20 mins thinking it might be some kind of installation process..) But apparently it's not and i've broken my smartphone lol. Anyway i'd really appreciate some help fixing this problem, a step-by step guide would probably work best..!!! I have both windows 8 and Ubuntu installed on my pc, just saying..Don't know if it's relevant information and may simplify fixing my problem...Thanks in advance guys and girls
i've even tried holding down all three physical buttons and it simply takes me back to the same screen!!!
you could try something like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434726
.. and you are sure, that you can not enter the recovery menu??
official motorola guide, how to enter recovery menu:
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/60620/action/auth
.. adb could be your last possibility, if everything else fails, google it, you'll find many answer

[Q] Non-booting S2. Kernel help please

Hi,
I'm a little nooby at all this, trying to learn better.
I started with a fully working, Galaxy S2, which I rooted ages ago. I did a factory reset on it, then the phone would not boot - it goot stuck at the Samsung Logo. (Probably due to the battery running out during the new user set up).
So I installed slimbean ROM 4.3 build 1 (put it on the SD card, installed by holding volume up+ power+ menu button).
After that, it still won't boot. This time, it got stuck on the SlimBean logo, instead a Samsung Logo.
So I installed Siyah-v3.3.2-CWM kernel. Now, after the first boot screen, it goes blank (no ROM boot screen).
Umm. Maybe I'm making more of a mess. But the most important thing is that I understand how this all works. Please don't send me to a guide, I've already read lots (they make a lot of assumtions about knowledge level, and are often really wordy which muddles things up in my mind.
I probably installed the wrong kernel for the version of slimrom I have....
Help ! ?
Please someone reply
Absolutely do not bump threads after an hour. This isn't your personal tech support hotline.
Good job keeping the forum in order, boss. Must be lonely at the top.
