I'm using SJB 7.0 On ray, and i heard ICS ROM has better camera quality compared to JB ROMs.
But i can't see any difference between any ICS ROM's and SJB's picture.
It is right that ICS ROM has better camera quality than JB 4.1 ROM?
P.s. i can see JB 4.2 / 4.3's camera quality is awful

4.X.X / 4.3 = no drivers for our chip avaiable = not the best quality (or bad if u will)
GB, ICS = we can use sony's offical drivers for that chip = best quality u can get from our camera

What 4.1 JB ROM are you using? And could you tell that the same quality of video was in 4.1 and ICS?
Have you tried the [MOD][ICS][Camera] Cyber-shot™ v.2.B.12 Superior Auto mod?

It tweaks the existing apk and tries to take advantage of the full possibility as they found out that the worst problem is the jpg compression.

This mod is only for stock/stock-based ROMs.

Camera quality is same. I don't know why it would differ because it's the same 5MP shooter.. However software dependent things like focus time etc can vary.. As far my experience with all fw version is concerned, camera UI on gb was very user friendly. However camera focused faster in ics .587
That's all I can say.

I find camera focusing better in GB. Try taking pics of a tree from 8 feet distance using GB and ICS Rom's. Now check the image in original resolution, you can see GB images are sorta soft but the focus is good and details are also ok. But if you check the ICS captured image, you can see there is over sharpening, noise & out of focus areas in the image.
Well the video capturing quality was definitely better in GB than ICS...
About the camera... I consider both fine

Video was better on GB-GB had stereo sound and higher frame rate
ICS has mono sound

Guys we all love JB ROMS but the only thing we don't like is the camera quality ...camera app doesn't support more than 5MP and video recording is crap . So can any one PORT the stock camera app from ICS 4.0.4 to KXP and PAC ROMS .. then the ROM will be completed to full satisfaction
1+ on that, I cant even use the stock jellybean camera app on the FXP rom, it just lags and freezes.

I don't think this will ever happen.
To make photos up to 8mpx you can install a third party app.
OR
You can install PAC - default camera app is working pretty good and can take pics up to 8mpx

Xperia mini pro camra quality is rly bad but before it was fine in ics we dont have a true 5mp its like vga it cant focus far.....and more problem irly want camra same before like gb

You can't replace camera from gb to ics. This is a different system, and have different builds.
Maybe ask a developer, whos create a custom rom based on gb.
No its not possible. If that would be possible then we would get a full working camera on JB as ICS

I dont know bt i am using cm10 from some days and camera is just wonderful. Video recording i dnt know as i never used that even in stock based roms

I've got CM10 on my LWW. And I'm an Instagrammer, but the camera quality isn't that good at all. The stock camera performs way better than the CM10 camera. Is there any way to get the same insane quality on CM10. Do I need to edit my media__profiles.xml, or anything else? A big thanks to the person that can help me.
PS. I don't want to go back to the laggy ICS stock firmware.

This app changes only the UI of the camera and adds HDR but it doesn't improve the camera quality at all.
Even Instagram has the same ugly quality as before. But is there a similar mod like the one of Rizal Lovins, but for CM10?
Nop, because the camera libs are not open-source, so they could be used fully in JB, thereby full functionality is missing.
Sony has to release JB camera libs for our phones or just make them open-source.
And no, other phones' libs will not work.
