It looks as though english is not your fist language, which is fine. That being said I have no idea what youve posted in here for. A quick Google search shows the Galaxy Grand was released in India, and I found THIS forum for one of the grands. It appears there were a couple of different models. You may want to start there.

[Q] Rooting Unlock Samsung Galaxy ACE GT-S5839i

Hello to everyone, well, i have just got my new Samsung galaxy ACE model GT-S5839i , the problem is that i have been reading a lot of tutorials, about how to root, or unlock the samsung galaxy ACE, but its seem they have done something with the new version and its not working.
There are a lot of stuff out there about the GT-S5830 but anything about the GT-S5839i wich is the one i have got.
So if there is someone who could help me to tell me about how to root this phone, or tell me how to enter the recovery mode, it would be very helpfull.
Thanks.
Here you go
I have the Ace but the model just before yours and all I do is hold volume down and the centre button untill the phone turns on and screen goes black.
Install clockworkmod recovery google it.
if i helped press thanks please
GT-S5830i menus
Hi! i gave my girlfriend a Samsung GT-S5830i. She has a t-mobile card, but i brought a Telenor phone. So i began to unlock... Ive found the Recovery menu...
Recovery:
First press and hold the Home button and the Volume Up button, then press and hold the power button. The Samsung Galaxy Ace letters appears, and then disappears. Now release the power button only... The Samsung Galaxy Ace text appears again. When the text changes to bright yellow, release the buttons, and the recovery comes up...
The download menu:
Press and hold both the volume up and volume down button, then press and hold the power button...
A warning message comes. press vol up... [[!! beware of differences berween GT-S5830 and GT-S5830i... They are not compatible. You brick your phone when you upload a different kernel!!]]
The zip file for root is below....
(if i uploaded a wrong zip, please PM me that...)
i couldn't unlock it. Ive tried all of methods, i've found. The only method, that now works, hte Z3XBOX, but it costs 120$ :O
looking for a solution on this as well ...

Hello,
I was hopping that post about rooting S5839i but I didn't see any tuto about it. I tried with "unlock root" and "SuperOneClick" but didn't get result.
Always process stop with this message for unlock root : "Failed to get shellroot" or "Wait for device" for superoneclick. The process is stopped althought drivers are well installed, debbuging usb is checked, I reboot computer ..etc.
I need another way to root this phone please, samsung s5839i v2.3.6
Thanks before

Well, I did it now !
This is a very simple way to root s5839i.
Put this file in sd card (don't unzipped it !), power off phone, enter into recovery mode (home + volume up + power one) then select "update from card" and choose the file root.zip. Reboot phone, that's it

To unlock galaxy ace. First you should root you ace. Google (gingeroot.apk download)
Also transfer apk file to phone and installe. Click root and it should root it.
After that you should go to the market and download galaxy ace unlock. Open it and it will ask you to give it root permission. Click yes. Copy down the code that comes up. There should be 3 codes but they should be the same.
Turn off your phone and put in a different sim. A box should come up telling you to put a password in. So type in the number you copyed down. It should say unlocked if something like that. You will have unlocked your phone.
YES THE UNLOCKING APP IS FOR GALAXY ACE BUT WILL ALSO WORK OF GALAXY ACE 2 AND GALAXY ACE PLUS
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
if the free methods dont work, i have an answer for u, send me pm if interested

Hi all,
I've got a problem with my GT-S5839i (2.3.6). When rooting it using the root.zip file, everything seems to be ok, BUT superSU doesn't work (no SU binary). So, I have a look inside /system/xbin and there is nothing new except busybox. The su, sh ans sqlite3 binaries are not presents.
Any idea ?
is this file (root.zip) finally works????

Successful root
I was able to successfly root my GT S5839i following post by fellow junior member (use link below). Unfortunately as a total noob to android I,m unsure of the CWM S5839i zip as I am still reviewing threads to explain function, compatibilty and stability on my model galaxy. But if I hazard a guess Its intials may stand for clockworkmod, I dowloaded from google play hoping to get the most up to date version but found my model was unsuported and lacked knowledge to try manual install. Will seek the knowledge

I had problem with superSU "no SU binary and unable to update this is problem" error appeared. My fault as explained in previous post total noob, thought I was getting ahead of myself and after reading other threads realised had not backed up sys etc so decided to use the unroot option in the SU settings to then do a factory reset and start again. Was taking ages, talking over an hour presumed app had crashed so exited with home button thus error msg and phone still rooted. Was able to rectify by dowloading unroot.zip and in maintanance mode (power button+home key+volume up) update from SD card to unroot device then performed factory reset. SU still present and not working but rooted phone and then updated app at play store and all is well. Probably not best route as it would of been nice if I had a backup as then had to reload all apps lost. Reading dev thread on superSU by Chainfire (Think thats right) there is also a superSU zip v 0.99 file which if you search forums will find the file and can also be updated from SD card in maintanance mode which may solve your binary issue but I have not tested this method. So might be wise to check thread as similar probs were reported.

it is always recommended to perform a factory data reset, after updating.
It helps, just try it.

ok.
1. Post your ROM details. Goto Settings - About, and post everything.
2. Do you have ROOT access?
3. Can you attribute the problem to any particular app or event apart from the info you already posted.

1. When you twice updated it, after the problem started, was it via kies or Odin?
2. Can you see the galaxy SII logo when the phone is booting?
3. Do you know how to flash via Odin?

Ok.
1. Visit here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102
2. Scroll down a little bit,
Download one of these:
CM9 Resurrection Edition for use with Odin:
20120420: Download
20120330: Download
-Download the first one.
3. Read the Odin flashing instruction there just to be double sure.
4. Flash the downloaded file via Odin.
Let me know how it goes.
Ps: Remove SIM before flashing via Odin.
Good luck

[Q] Bricked my phone yesterday :(

Hi All,
My phone is Samsun galaxy ace GT-S5830
here is how it happened
1) rooted my phone in the afternoon, everything was fine
2) installed rom manager . biggest mistake :'(
3) when i tried to download new ron it said CWM not installed. and to select a version. by mistake i instaled a different CWM since ace was not present.
4) still it was fine. saw an option called boot in recovery mode. just wanted to try it. so clicke that and since then my phone is dead.
i bought it with my first salary. very emotional about it. Please give me some advice. how to unbrick it. i will try this method now. lets hope for good.
Sent it back to the store and say a kies update failed.
You can't unbrick it.

I'm not familiar with Galaxy Ace, but you have better luck about unbricking in its particular forum. I can assure that it is no way a hard brick i.e. it can be repaired by using softwares only.

Try and see whether you can go into Download Mode.
Volume Down + Home + Power.
If you can, your phone is soft-bricked and can be returned to the original state.

1st, please make sure your device is either Ace S5830 or Ace S5830i. (this is important!)
2nd, go to specific unbrick tutorial for S5830 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071970 or S5830i here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840645
3rd, welcome to the forum and next time, please use forum search feature before asking question (just a friendly reminder to prevent your topic from getting close) ...
I have a funny feeling that the mod will move this into related thread ... hehehe

Desperately Need Help on Original China Unicom Firmware

I just return from trip in China
I bought a S3 just before getting on the metro to the airport. the model is GT-I9300_CHN_CU
After getting back, I realized that I am not able to install a great many app, and the google play store is missing.
After numerous attempt to download and install the play store apk, which I am not able to get it to work
I try flashing it with a UK version ROM with Odin3 v3.04, however just before the last part, while writing the modem part, Odin report the operation as a failure
Now I am stuck with "Firmware upgrade enountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Try again" on the main screen.
I did not backup with Kies earlier so I am not able to perform recovery
I am trying to find the firmware for the China Model SIII, can anyone help me by pointing to the location where I can download the origonal and correct formware to get it running again ......:crying:
I am really an amature on this.
thanks for the assistance

mobile odin
Hi mate i also have a china unicom samsung s3. i changed my firmware to the latest polish jelly bean 4.1.2 using mobile odin pro which i got from the chinese samsung apps store and it worked like a charm. using normal odin messes up the unicom boot loader partition. that is how you bricked your phone.
my phone now boots with the unicom logo and then shows the european galaxy logo ....
also you might want to check titanium backup pro which i got for play store for backing up your phone and applications. its great !!!!

Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed

Hello everybody,
I own a Galaxy S9+ (SM-G965F) and out of nowhere, it no longer boots. It is stuck on a black screen with red writing on the top saying "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed."
I did not root my device or anything at all. I have looked online for help, and have tried reinstalling the latest stock firmware i found here in xda (G965FXXU2BRJ3 and G965FXXS2BRJ3) using Odin3 v 1.13.1, and still no luck.
I can only access download mode (odin mode). Can't enter recovery mode at all and it doesnt boot at all to show the Samsung s9 logo.
Any help will be appreciated as I need access to my phone asap as I am expecting to hear back from jobs I applied to. Thank you very much..
By the way; I am not a techsavvy person.
only official released binaries are allowed
im having the same issue with my galaxy s8. did you figure anything out?
