Good evening
A friend of mine has an Xperia mini pro
He's facing always 100 percent battery problem
The problem is happening on multiple kernels
On CM kernel it's working fine :what:
Is there any known solution for it?

I think its problem with the battery . . . Same happened with me. . Try changing the battery.
It's a known bug on Kernel Panic,Kappa 1.4 and above and Stock kernel ....It doesn't exist on Mesa,Lupus and Radeon ...Ask him to flash Mesa,Lupus ,Radeon to remove the bug ...
I think you should try wipe battery stat in cwm
Now I have a Nexus 4,but I had a LwW and I also had this problem.
I just flashed my phone with .62 GB FTF and it was working fine.
Then I updated it to ICS using SEUS and it's fine for now,my dad uses it and he's not facing this problem anymore.

FluxMOD™ v2.0.0
Simple And Clean 2.4.3 from Mr.Philo. It's in Android Development section. Also you can install good kernel like SpeedMod, Void or one from Siyah. It's best kernels if you need best battery life Pozdro z Polski
ok. more opinions?

As usual I'll predict the future and this thread will get closed so say I didn't warn you.
The best rom for battery life is what works on your phone there are to many factors that differentiate this, every phone is different, every usage pattern is different the only way to find out is to try yourself.

Stock.
I think nikz is a prophet. I'm betting this thread gets closed within an hour
We frown on these threads here. Just try a ROM until you find one you like, nobody can answer this question for you.

Hi all,
My Xperia S phone upgrade arrived today. I am not using it as my main phone yet because I am still using my X10 phone on my old network, Orange, and will start using the new phone when I've given O2 my PAC code.
I had a few questions. Firstly, there's a 'system update' on the phone menu - I assume this is ICS. Should I go right ahead and install it? Are there any problems I should know about and is performance better/worse than 2.3.7? I'd like to install it before I do anything else on the phone, but if it's glitchy then I'd probably rather stick to GB.
Also, is there any way of restoring app data without rooting the phone? I wanted to restore my texts and MMS settings to the phone, as well as my internet bookmarks.
Any help or advice would be appreciated
Thanks
I personally love it but Some people liked it and some no,there is some minor bugs in ics so maybe better to wait little more for sony new release.
There is many backup apps in play store, try one

Yeah. Have a feel of the gingerbread experience first. Then upgrade to ics if you are no longer happy with it. It's like getting a new phone

Test both and see for yourself. I'm switching to AOSP the day FXP release their tree, so you should also give CM10 a run and maybe join the AOSP tribe.
Update! camera becomes lbetter!
video bit rate is better!
720p is now 12mbit s
I got mine on Monday and upgraded to ICS straight away, so dont have any experience of how GB was but, ICS is smooth for me - only gripe is the stuttering on bluetooth when playing music! :'(
P.S - My battery life was absolutely awful the first few days - so bad I really considered returning it! But today and yesterday it seems to have settled in and it lasts an acceptable amount of time.
Definite YES !!!

hey all,
a quick question, if any one tried the new update 6.1.A.2.45 for Xperia S at Egypt please advice
what about the battery life, free RAM, any bugs ?!!
i just got the phone 2 days ago and it works fine with GB 2.3
i don't want to face any bugs with the new update, if it will; i will better leave it on G.B.
P.S. i always have free RAM between 300 and 403
GB works best if you don't want to unlock bootloader... ICS uses more ram and such...

Yes update. I'd never go back to gingerbread

I like GB a lot, but Sony's implementation of ICS is really very good. Heaps of new features too. Anyone who whines on about "RAM" is misguided and living in 2011. Ignore and enjoy the ICS experience. Everything works and works well, enjoy.

Thank you very much for your quick reply
But they are talking about the phone stay awake while the screen is turned off. and the wake-lock bug
what does that mean ? and how can i know if my phone is awake or not while the screen is turned off ??
I don't have that problem and I'm on 2.45

Yes!
I would 100% do the update, Sony is one of the rare companies who gave it's users a really great GB to ICS update, and then proceeded to continue to support it.
I have a normal sgs 3 (nordic version), some times it drops frames when i am scrolling or sometimes using some random app makes it slightly laggy.
It got better with jelly bean but still not perfect (remembered the first galaxy 1, ist was verry laggy and unstable, it was horrible,it had to do with the software, not hardware)
Is it possible to make a sgs 3 lagfree with a special custom rom, i mean even a note II lags a bit an it does also drops frames when scrolling (not 100% smooth, even though it's the most powerfull android phone available today)
You can install CyanogenMod 10.1, but s3 does never get 100% lagfree because of Samsung not giving up proper documentation about their chipsets. But for me CM10.1 is smoother than stock.
Also this should be on Q&A section ?
Good luck with that. It is a good phone but still not perfect.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
well, i've tried so many kernels, roms in the past few months and i never really had trully lagfree phone. by that, i mean constant 60 fps and _no_ visible fps drops.
gonna try cm10.1 soon though
It is not a phone problem, it is an Android general issue.

The Nexus 4 is much smoother. It had other limitations though.

Forgot to say i am using omega rom Siyah "ubuntu" kenel. (someone wrote i could adjust my cpu with the Siyah kernel, but i don't seem to have an app that would do that)
I agree it's do to with android, if you could compare a 100% stock, standard galaxy 1 with a version that has jelly bean the difference would be extreme (because the stock android on the first sgs 1 was soo bad)

Don't know where i should be, i rarely ask a question on xda
Try custom roms like Omega, wanamlite, vikingway, and neatrom... although not 100% lag free and constantly 60fps but it is sure smoother than stock and better battery than stock

I really love testing new ROMs, but I always find myself going back to stock. What drives me crazy is when someone says "This Works Great!!!! But...", and then they list serious feature issues that people use everyday. Wouldn't that mean the ROM doesn't work so great? Maybe it's working for you but 30 other people list problems. I have an xt912 CDMA and I have yet to install a ROM that doesn't have some form of issues... even final and released builds.
I applaud the programmers and people who spend their free time doing this and making these awesome ROMs, but hopefully some day... there will be no bugs.
What are your thoughts?

I would recommend checking out some builds based on Jelly bean 4.2 or lower. These tend to be much more stable for me. Sadly many of the developers who had done such wonderful work for our device have moved onto newer devices to develop for. Obviously that makes sense for them but it makes it tough to deliver pristine ROMS for us. It's also up to the user. If you can sacrifice a little bit of stability for more customization, custom ROMS are probably for you. If not you may want to stick with your stock ROM and try to google "Xposed Framework" and give that a try. Best of luck!
4.4 official cm, give it a try!

Yes, I agree completely. The biggest problems are when data or wifi doesn't work that well. Pretty much a deal breaker. Problem for me is, on stock, there's a bug that makes my phone frequently think there is an HDMI plugged in when there's not, so it forces the phone to change orientation. So incredibly annoying. customs roms don't have these problems though. And slimbean worked well for me once, I just hope slimkat gets to be more stable. Right now there is a problem with the wifi, and the battery life is pretty bad. sigh...

You should try latest slimkat with JBX Kernel , very smooth!

How about we work on getting kexec working properly, or unlocking our bootloader. If not then jb 4.1.2 roms should be the focus for stable roms.

i tried gummy 4.4.2 with jbx. it works nice until I start adding my apps, then it slowly gets slower and lags a lot. also, i lose my gps and hdmi functionality. :-/. Maybe its time to go nexus? idk. DROID isnt doing much these days.

If you want a ROM with very few issues, try Aviator Blur 3.0.9. It is 4.1.2 but it has overcocking and is very smooth. It is based off the original stock rom. It has no signal or other major issues. The new CM11 shows promise, but like you said, it still has a few bugs.
Theres always issues
there is always an issue with all roms you cant expect them to fix everything not even stock android is perfect every OS has its faults some more than other thats all.
