hi mates, i'm new to android, sorry for my question, but i tried to root the phone and i've used a guide for rooting not from this forum. It's didn't work because the files for rooting were for android 2.3, but the phone is upgraded to 4.2.1. Is there any working guide i can follow? thank you. Also with the root, can i install games, app, .apk files etc and drop files to sd external memory? thanks a lot

I've done one big mistake. I bircked my Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830i while trying to root one ROM. Ive rooted my phone lot times ago and everything was fine but this time I've bricked and my phone is showing only "Samung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i"!! NOTHING ELSE!
Please.. I need one ANGEL that can help me get out of this s*it. Please someone to explain me step by step how to unbrick it. I couldnt understand some YT videos.
P.S. I am new on XDA forums so if I break any rule do not delete this threat!!

But now my problem: I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy SII running Android 4.1.2 !
Unfortunately I deleted the '.odex' folder of my Mp3 Player in /system/app!
So my question for you : If you have a Samsung Galaxy SII running Android 4.1 (and if you have Root access) , can you please search at "/system/app" for the folder "Music_Player.odex" and upload it (and post it xD) here?

Hey, wouldn't be easier for you to reflash 4.1.2? You won't lose any data, it just overwrite existing system files and if something is missing, fill the gap - exactly what you want Although you may lose root, but with nowadays fast 1click root methods this shouldn't be a problem to get it back.
Or you can wait for someone's posting this file. I'd like to help but I'm on custom rom. Anyway, good luck :good:

Sorry, did not realize that . I found solution from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273 . Installed CF-Auto-Root :good:. I believe that custom recovery is very easy to find and install from this point.
I have an S3 I9300 which im trying to root. But it just keeps getting bricked.
I have used CF-Root for the international version but im not sure what the problem is anymore.
I am fairly new to android development so I apologies if I missed a thread with a similar topic.
Can someone please help me??
Note: I have searched this forum and the threads giving solutions dont work for me! I have the stock ROM so I just keep bricking and unbricking it all day long trying different things.
