2.06 Firmware and GSM Networks ?? - HTC Droid DNA

I'm looking to S-Off my wife's DNA so I need to upgrade from 2.04 to 2.06. But were using her phone on Net10 Gsm (ATT).
So my question is does the 2.06 firmware upgrade lock down or restrict the gsm network options at all?
I know the DNA was the first and only phone to come from Verizon completely gsm unlocked and other phones im thinking the S3 and others came with cellular unlocked but data locked so u couldnt do what we did and run from verizon with their phone. So if 2.06 restricts gsm access were out of a phone and my wife might even kill me .

Cmon somebodys gotta know if they were able to switch their DNA to a gsm network after taking the 2.06 update?

CDMA vs GSM ROMs

Few questions regarding our GSM capability:
1. What changes between CDMA ROMs and GSM ROMs? Doesn't the Rezound work on both networks since it is a global phone now?
2. If I were to pop in a GSM carrier's SIM card (let's say... T-Mobile's) what would I have to research and do to get all of T-Mobile's features (SMS, Voice, Data, Play Store carrier branded apps maybe?) working?
3. Will I screw anything up by popping a GSM SIM into my phone with a CDMA ROM?
I want to order a T-Mobile SIM and see what their network is like in my area.
if you flash any ROMs based on latest RUU 4.03.605.2.. that will support both CDMA and GSM . nothing will be screwed up!!
So the ota won't work?

I thought you still had to unlock the carrier stuff even though it was a global rom. Thought was still locked to verizon.

Just flash radio not ota when you use stock it would mess some app up but you could use google grab to fix them ...but radio and gsm Rom is a great for t-mobile
....
I say to add radio because it fix sms and location problem for gsm user

Unlock Rezound

Hi guys
I'm going to purchase HTC rezound, but seller told me that it's Verizon phone. So I've one question about this: Does This device need unlock code to work with other network operators, such as AT&T and so on?
thanx
It will work with other networks. You really don't need to unlock it. Just flash the global RUU and go into network settings and switch to GSM mode.

excellent :victory:
thanx a lot :good:
What he said is true, although the gsm radios as is for the rezound dont work with us domestic carriers for data connection other then edge. To get 3g or better you have to do some modifications to the radio.

It involves some windows programs like dfs and qpst. Don't have time to get into it but you can read about it here if you want. Its still a work in progress, but I've managed to get 3G and HSPA enabled using straight talk att sim with these modifications.

On GSM Can Make Calls but not get data on AT&T

So I installed the 4.0.3.605.2 image that enables the GSM. Now I can make and receive calls on AT&T but I do not get any data. Tried searching found nothing that helps. Tried all different APNs for AT&T with no luck. Any ideas? I want to keep this stock for resale. But want to be able to sell it as GSM Unlocked
How did u get it on att? I am interested on att prepaid or T-Mobile prepaid. Did you install the leaked global update?

Selling phone to a T-Mobile user

Hey guys,
So I'm selling my Rezound to a T-Mobile user (my sister) and I want to get it ready for her to use. Currently, I have the 4.03.605.2 710RD software loaded on it, which I know makes it global capable. At this point, would I just need to flash a GSM and have her put in her T-Mobile SIM card? Or do I need to update to the new OTA software first? If so, is there an RUU for it?
Thanks for the help.

I don't think thats such a good idea especially if she uses the internet a lot because GSM users only get EDGE which is almost the slowest data connection.

But as far as u know the Verizon galaxy s4 comes sim unlocked, since my cousin bring me one from the USA but my problem was how ti force 2g (gsm) use instead of 3g to save battery life, as this option is not available in the menu like the international galaxy s4

Negative ghostrider. There is no such beast as the SGH-i545. It is apparent that the G was merely a typo on the OP's behalf

I would hardly core that as an source. Additionally, it directly contradicts your earlier assertion.
Check the actual model numbers that Samsung has put forth... there is no such animal as the SGH-I545.

Hey guys...
So, the Verizon S4 is the model named SCH-I545 and it comes with a sim slot, right? Besides, it comes Internationally Unlocked, so it can be used on GSM networks around the world, correct?
Just one more question, does it work on the 850MHz Band for 3G?
I'm thinking on buying one also! Thanks!
I brought the vzw s4 back to india.. but its not working with either vodafone or airtel GSM.
After rooting and installing apn manager and titanium pro I was able to get the data working but that too only 3g.
But the voice n sms is still not working.
I too am lookiblng for a solution but didnt find any, inspite of this being a world phone.

Same issue in India
I am having the same issue. The phone picks up only data signal and not voice or SMS. I have a Note2 purchased from Verizon and it works perfect. I have rooted and was able to install an I9505 ROM Wamma Lite. It picked up the gsm signal for a moment and same issue occured. Can aI9505 modem be iinstalled using Odin which will make the gsm modem primary and CDMA secondary and allow gsm use for voice and SMS. Please help.

Yes, it will work on 850
Straight from Sammy.
"Frequencies and Data Type:
LTE: Bands 4/13
CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev.A: 800/1900MHz
HSPA+/UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100MHz
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz"
I am using my i545 in both CDMA and GSM networks. Didn't try HDSPA, but EVDO Rev.A and even Rev.B, and GSM with EDGE - working properly without problems. Switching between networks - is in the Settings. My phone is connected to two different operators at the same time - to CDMA and GSM.

Are you using CDMA injected? I am using i-545 in Indonesia with local operator CDMA RUIM not successful, will try with CDMA injected.
