Hello guys,
We are a small team which is about to make its first game. It is a realtime multiplayer bubble shooter. So far we have some design tests and almost no coding done. It is going to eventually be released for Android and iOS for both smartphones and tablets.
We are also looking for a good realtime backend API platform. Do you have any experiences with such?
We think we have picked the right ad platform:

Here's a design test:

Oh, thank you! We are working hard so we can make a video of the game in action. We will alsp be revealing some very cool game mechanics as soon as we have them implemented.
Available in China?
I showed this to some of my Chinese friend. They are interested. Do you think you can make this game available in China?

Hi, I've been reading about releasing games in China and so far I am not really sure how to do it. I know there are dozens of app stores other than google play and the app store. Putting the game there won't be a big problem I guess, but the in-game purchases will have to go through the google and apple accounts of the users. Now that I do not know if will be an issue for Chinese players. How do Chinese players pay for games? Do they use credit cards?
Also there is localization which I will do my best to get at least in mandarin and spanish.
If not, the single-player will be free anyway (albeit with ads), while the multiplayer will get a candy-crush style system of hearts you lose for a loss and you have to buy in order to play more.

Releasing game in China is tricky but not impossible.
First you must decide how you are going to make money.
If you go with the mobile ads route, then just find company that has an SDK that provides ads.
If you want in-app purchase, you just need to find a Chinese payment SDK that takes Chinese payment methods.
Google play is not supported well in China so you will have to find a different submission service that takes your APK and send it to all top stores in China.
My favorite is appigniter.com
They have payment and mobile ads SDK. And pays you through your paypal account.
There are others like
papaya
onepf.org
inmobi
All interesting choices but not sure how good they work.
Thank you very much! That did help a lot. We will surely try to include a Chinese payment method, it is a gigantic market after all.

Hey PopNationOnline
Uploading to each of the app stores in China can be a painstaking process. To make this process easier, you can try App Publish by InMobi. Its free and you will have to upload your app once and your app will be published to around 160 app stores across the world. I think it'll really help you.
Disclaimer: I work for InMobi

Haha, free advertisement. Still, thank you! I might just end up using it.
I talked to a Papaya representative in China and he was very keen on making me give up the idea of using their payment SDK and dealing with China in general. I found it very strange.

You heard that right, Saurik (the creator of Cydia on iOS) has released Cydia Substrate on Android - Available On google play store.
Winterboard is already available now !!!
Some people have inquired about the possibility of having a Google Play alternative, sort of like Cydia is an App Store alternative. While that may sound like a good idea, it’s not absolutely necessary like it was on iOS. With iOS, Apple would outright reject any app or tweak submitted to the App Store. Google is much more lenient on what it will accept, and it has less strict rules about the openness of certain apps. That’s why it is possible for Saurik to submit WinterBoard to Google Play and get approved. There is no absolute need for an alternative like there is with iOS.

With all of that being stated, I think that an alternate store would be beneficial for a couple of reasons, but one sticks out above all others. I think that a Google Play alternative would be good simply for organizational purposes. On iOS, you know you go to the App Store when you want to download an App Store app, and you know you go to Cydia when you want to download a jailbreak app. The lines are rarely, if ever, blurred. With the Android situation, I can see things becoming a lot more confusing with everything being mixed in together.

Not quite. There are some tweaks available, That includes Winterboard (theme chooser for any rom, also use icon packs for any launcher on a stock rom).
This is just the beginning, as you see in the below image. But I hope it turns out to something big.

I did see it... Absolutely ridiculous.. Didn't even work, very poor... There's Xposed Framework for such and much more options... Anyway what have you done ?! Im no fan of iPhone nor the shi*y OS, we chose Android for a reason... And it your choice, enjoy

LOL, the iPhone was a present from my uncle, I can't say no. But I'm sure I will return to android some day.
On Topic again...
If you use the Winterboard app found on the play store you can transform your phone into one another, I haven't tried it yet, but people are saying it has issues

I am terribly sorry it did not work for you, but I will point out that it was just released when you tried it. I will also ask if you meant that WinterBoard didn't work (which is somewhat to be expected: it's kind of hit-or-miss) or Substrate itself. Finally, I will point out that Substrate (in comparison to Xposed) allows you to inject into daemons, hook native code, supports Intel devices, runs on Android 2.3, and has constant-time performance (Xposed gets slower the more hooks you install); while there are certainly more things developed right now that target it for a user, I think it provides many more options to the developer. Over the last couple weeks I've been able to get it rapidly supporting all of the corner-cases people have been throwing at me with regards to random ROMs, so if your issue was with Substrate (not WinterBoard), then I somewhat expect that you might not have issues anymore with a more recent version. (If you are on an HTC version, a workaround for full support is coming in 0.9.4008, to be released to the Play Store later tonight.)

I'm sorry for the late reply. This is actually caused by a bug in your Superuser application, which is stripping library paths from executions of setuid programs. This was fixed in later versions of most Superuser programs, but some people don't have that fix. I actually made a new version of Substrate a while ago that totally bypassed this kind of issue entirely, but for various reasons (mostly life stuff: life sucks sometimes) I did not get around to releasing it. There will be a big update to Substrate in the next couple days that includes this change.
Hi GUYS,
I am new to the android world, I have been an iphone user from iphone 3gs to iphone 5s, recently I shifted to ios to android and I am curreclty using Samsung Note 3, I am very happy with the performance of the device but when it comes to the App experience I give full marks to IOS.
I thought i would start this thread for users like me who might be having problems in the android world with APPS.
eg:
1. I never found an alternative app for "ibank" which is was using on my MAC and iphone.
2. No good alternative for "Filemaker Go."
So I request all the users of this community to share the name of such alternatives apps, so that it might help in easy switching between the platforms.
I am still looking for multiple accounts emails software blackberry was great here.
At present syncing all other email address to 1 single account but thats not I require
For multiple accounts email you can use
1. Boxer.
2. CloudMagic email.
3. MyMail
On iOS I used to use "App Price Drops" app for notification of price drops of app. Can anybody tell an alternative to this app for android?

Already been to this site.
But see the site lists so many apps as alternatives for FileMaker go and I have tested almost all but none came closer to the functionalilty of FileMaker pro.
The main motive behind starting this thread is to help users to save time and install the best alternative app that the other helpful users of this community propose rather than installing each app that sites like alternativeto.net suggests.
I hope the community will help.
Guys which app are you using to sync outlook with your PC over local WiFi not through internet.
For iOS I used to use todo version 7
Hoping for a reply

Unpopular Communication Apps That Deserve A Call Back
I don't know if you've heard of these new type of phones coming out called "Smartphones" but apparently they offer a million new ways to communicate with people. We all know about texting apps, calling, snapchat, skype and all of the basics. There are also a lot of really cool communication apps that don't make it onto the "Most Popular" page of the Play store. Let's take a look at some of these really good apps that you may not have heard of before.
Couple Tracker -Mobile monitor
This one is really creepy but it's good at what it does. This is for the average couple that doesn't trust each other because for some reason they thought it would be a good idea to get back together after one of them cheated. So the solution to the lack of trust is Couple Tracker. This is an app that you'll install on both you and your partners device. Then the app will share your call history, texts, location and activity with the other user. LOL I'm not even kidding. Some people live this way. If this app seems appealing to you then you should probably break up. If you don't want to break up then download this app. At least it's something.

Simpler Dialer
So there are still a few people out there that make phones calls on a regular basis. Hopefully this is something you plan on quitting soon but in the mean time you should try Simple Dialer. It resembles the stock dialer while giving you a bunch of customization options. So many dialer apps go way overboard with all the extras they pile on and ultimately ruin their app. This one is called Simple Dialer for a reason. It looks and functions great. Check it out!

Skype Qik: Group Video Chat
Qik isn't exactly an unheard of app but it doesn't have near the popularity that it's big brother Skype has. The best way to describe this app is that it's a mixture of Skype and Snapchat. My favorite feature is the ability to create group chats where everyone can easily share videos. There really isn't anything else like it that works as well as this does. So I highly recommend giving this one a shot.
Download
Marco Polo Video Walkie Talkie
Marco Polo doesn't really serve any practical use but it is pretty fun. It's another video sharing app but with tons of video and audio filters. It's great for kids but anyone over 14 might not be too interested in this one. You might find that it's a fun and entertaining way to keep in touch with your kid who is beginning to hate you as a parent. It's a cool app but with a very specific audience. Nothin' wrong with that.
Download
Signal Private Messenger
Ever wonder if someone is spying on your messages? Spoiler alert: They are. Intergalactic aliens have the technology to intercept your messages unless they have a strong encryption. That's the idea behind Signal. Chat freely with your partners in crime without worrying about Aliens using your chatlogs to study human behavior. So what sets this chat app apart from all of the other encrypted app options? Phone calls. You can also make private phone calls over VOIP with the Signal app. So if you're ready to get serious about your privacy, you should check out this app.
Download
So are there any great apps that you use for communication that everyone else seems to miss? If so let a comment down below and let people know about it!
Qik will be shut off next month. So, a little late for it...

Actually, I like the wechat most
Reason: I live in singapore and my best friend lives in China now. Every time when we have time, we will have a video chat with each other. In my view, it makes the communication so convenient.
Daily i use VIBER,TEAMVIEWER and WOL manager.
I like the way i can "wake up" my pc and through Teamviewer can remote it from anywhere i am.
What i like with the P series is the camera app.
It's complete with different useful tools, that makes it more powerful than other brands.
Telegram and Spotify
I like using Telegram app and Spotify
I am huge user of Telegram which has replaced my traditional messaging
It is pretty intuitive reliable and easy
Also it's not just a messaging app but a collective Databases of various Things and People
Movies songs learning we can get any groups of u name the topic
Also Spotify is one of the app that I use the most being an Audiophile
The distribution of genres are just very good
Also I can find new Music very easily
Youtube and Twitter are what I use the most. Image 2 wallpaper is a great app for setting my wallpaper
I love 'Google Maps' .
The way it shows me the way in such a busy and big city where you find freedom to yourself to discover it by your own. It also helps to estimate the time you might need. And the best thing is you can easily by pass traffic jam if you have a clear view of the road condition.
I use AIMP not only for my music but to listen to audiobooks changing speed, tempo and pitch easily.
The camera, I like to take a photo of all kinds, communication
I like Amazon India App
I like it because it has all.... Shopping, Movies, Music, Daily needs, Payments, Etc
Now a days in India they introduced CREDIT feature too for those who want to spend and pay later (Direct credit in wallet... No need of Credit card). Its soo cool right.
For me, Twitter is my favorite app. It's not just a social media app for me, it's also a news app and basically a RSS Feed app for all my favorite sites. It's super flexible and just very easy to use. At this point I "couldn't" live without it. The Netflix app in combination with my Chromecast is my second most favorite app.
I really love Nova Launcher! It is one of the apps I always had on my smartphone and it's one of the first apps I install when I change my phone or install a custom ROM.
Self-improving apps
I use apps that are related to improving your efficiency when it comes to studying. 2 of those are Tide and Flipd. They are so easy to use, free and help me manage my time in the most comfortable way.
Since I love taking photos with my mobile all the time, therefore 'Snapseed' is my most favourite app.
I use the most Retro music player, MS Teams, Whatsapp and Reddit.
My favorite apps are definitely Owncloud, Discord, Hue and Prime Video
My favorite apps are those that are simple to use and user friendly. Those apps that are dark themed since I use an OLED display phone. I love apps that doesn't consume a lot of power. And finally, those apps that are safe to use and doesn't come with android virus. ??
One of my favorite app is Google Drive, Google Drive, It helps in syncing and storing files. It includes a powerful mobile office suite, so I can create and edit files from my phone. Drive can store your files locally for offline viewing and editing too.
And another app which i like most is Telegram, it delivers message faster than any other app and it lets me access my message from multiple devices.
Whatsapp
Youtube
Call of duty
Pubg
Sometimes I feel like I am the one who really love Huawei devices. Now I am typing on Huawei Nova 3 , the device is really running well. Previously I used Honor6x, Honor 20i which are devices of Huawei sub-brand Honor.
To be honest I mostly love this EMUI which is far from typical Chinese UI and close to stock. The apps I use most Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, camera and gallery..
And kudos to emui for making such great camera app.. I like it..
Alohaaa Community,
I know a lot of you have or are planning to buy Huawei devices without the Google Services, like: Play Store, Youtube, GMail etc., that's why I decided to write this article and let you know, that there exists a better life without the Play Store. Why? Simply, because there aer already a lot of alternatives, like: Aptoide, APKPure, APKMonk, Aurora Store etc.
Alternatively I recommend you Aurora Store! Here a short instruction how you can use it to get your favorite apps with it, without needing the Google Play Store.
First, you should download the official APK, which you can find right here >>> h***s://auroraoss.com/downloads.php
After you get to the page, simply tap on the Download button from below the Aurora Store. After this, the app download should begin and you will be able to install it (If needed, enable the "Unknown Sources" from the settings, which will appear instead of the "Install" button for the app).
In one other way you can find the "Aurora Store App" by searching with the "Petal Search by Huawei"!
Well, defining it briefly would sound like this: "Aurora Store is the unofficial FOSS client to Google's Play Store, having an elegant, concise and fresh design, from where you can download or update apps". Actually, this is just a short description of the app. It can be used with or without Google Mobile Services installed on your Huawei device. You can search for apps, get details about what each app tracks and what permissions it needs, about its size, reviews, the address of the developer and much more. Aurora Store spoofs the information about your phone/tablet, the language, the region and makes available apps that aren't allowed or available in your country. Below each app page, you can also find a button, which will bring you to the apps that were developed by the same author. The number of apps is enormous!

I always prefer the anonymous login, because it works just like having an account
I've been using the store for almost four weeks now almost daily and so far i can't find any problems - so far i've also found all the apps i need on Aurora! Personally, I see the Aurora Store as a real alternative to Google Play and its intrusive services! in the past, one always looked to have as little as possible installed on the smartfone from Google's site.....

Yes but there is no synchronization of photos and contacts with this solution
I use only Huawei AppGallery, F-Droid and Petal Search, managed to find and install all the apps that I want.
Without GMS, I can still sync my Google Calendar and Contacts without any problem by using CalDav/CardDav sync.
