[Q] IMEI.txt - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Some time ago I was "crwaling" around in the Android file system and found the IMEI.txt . What exactly happens if I change or even would delete the file?

Q about odin.ini

hi
i was searching around and couldnt find or edit myselft , so im asking for help
we all flesh many different samsung phones and many different roms in our work.
sometimes im not in , and my workers ask how to flesh this and that.
i was wondering if there is any way i can edit the ODIN.INI file to auto chose the correct files for fleshing.
meaning i'll make a new dir with the rom i need to flesh , add odin and odin.ini in it , edit the ini to add the files in that dir , and if i open this oding from this folder it will auto chose the files in the dir , this way they cant make any mistake with the correct files , as odin only remember the last dir it used so sometimes it goes to different phones folders and they can make a mess
thx for any help
and im hope im in the right forum for this Q

[Q] Copy paste problem on stock ROM

Hi all,
I am having issues with copy and paste on my stock ROM. According to Clipper, nothing goes into the clipboard when I cut/copy text. I've tried this in S Memo, Gmail, Chrome, Messaging and Whatsapp, so it should be a system issue. Is anyone else having similar problems? Mine is running PDA: I9305ZHALI8. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!
Not mine. I've tried copying text from webpage to search bar, and even copied some text from Gmail to Whatsapp.
But...does I9305ZHALI8 exist? Mine is ZHALI7.
Where's your S III LTE brought from? Mine is HK.
Edit: Seen the upgrade. I decide not to upgrade first.
Fix
I hade the same problem, but i found a salution.
First open upp any root explorer app.
data and look for the folder named clipboard.
delite that folder and boot your phone in to recovery mode.
then you fix permissions.
hoped i helped
ansonscleung: I just upgraded today hoping that the update would fix this copy paste issue, but unfortunately it does not. I was on I9305ZHALI7 for almost two weeks.
Curwer: Thanks for your fix! I was hoping I wouldn't have to root but if I may have to do so if it really gets on my nerves...
sry I dont know any other way to fix this, maybe factory reset will but i´m not 100% on that :/

This may or may not be my first post but I've been on this forum for years now - I hope this attests to my searching ability and tells you that I am not someone who is lazy and didn't look up answers (Skip the next paragraph if you don't want to read the steps leading up to my issue).
I have a Galaxy S3 from Sprint. I'm running the newest Cyanogenmod on it (running 4.4.3) and I hate how large everything looks. Couldn't find a solution, so I decided to try and restore my old backup. The MD5 check failed, and the only backup I have that works is from May, or three backups ago. I read that I can force it to load by accessing the hash file and deleting the contents but I can't find my backups.
I've searched online several times and the only backup I can find on any Explorer (ES File Explorer, Astro Manager, File Manager) is the one from May which is on my ExtSD. It doesn't show up on my computer either when connected by USB. Booting into Recovery shows me the backups. I'm searching with hidden and protected files viewable/editable. I would've sworn to you before typing this that the other folders which showed up alongside the clockworkmod one were 0\ and [something else] but when I went to check again before posting this I saw that CWM says they're in the sdcard\clockworkmod\backup folder. I've attached screenshots to show you what I see.
Any help is greatly appreciated and my apologies if this has been discussed, but I've looked in every folder suggested and did a phone-wide search - nothing!
Edit: My girlfriend thinks I have a nice phone!!!!

I am unable to make it work..

sup guys,
I am trying to change the splash or boo image on my tablet, have a chinese tablet "momo", and i faced two problems
first : there is no initlogo.rle anywhere, and when I checked the file "init" (which is binary file) I found a line
"/dev/.booting/dev/%s/initlogo.rle"
the second problem:
After I have installed adb in linux and I made some changes to the tablet, after rebooting all changes not being saved
just like I didn't do anything
any help?
Working is not so much Easy Dude
First your report :

Its that .... Most of the chinese tablets do not allow changing bootanimation ..
If it allows ... Its said to be Unseen
"init" file ... You can find it while Searching deeply..
If u find its not available .... Then its said to be waste
Second the report :
After I have installed adb in linux and I made some changes to the tablet, after rebooting all changes not being saved

Check whether the adb Works properly ... most of the adb's do Such things
After you reboot the tablet " Everything becomes normal as if it was " Before changing " ..... This problem is strange as you can refer it by asking some Mod's r developers ....
This is my guide to you .....
Hit thanks if i have helped you :highfive:

and there is "init" file but no initlogo.rle
even I can read a line in "init" file about initlogo.rle
anyone can tell me why when I reboot the tablet, the changes I made to the tablet been disappeared ?

Please link the YouTube video and the location of your "missing" file. Also, welcome to the Android world, make a backup of every file when someone tells you to change it, please! Imagine all the threads that wouldn't have existed because of that! Never the less, at the top of the Q&A section there is a floating post that states:
This forum is for all of your questions about Android Development and Hacking. If you need help troubleshooting a problem, please be as specific as possible by describing your software configuration, including the ROM, kernel, and any modifications you've done.

The youtube video is called : How to Fix Wifi on Android Devices using Root Explorer
The deleted file file was in /data/misc/wifi
Now I give u informations about system etc. ... ( I attached wpa_supplicant.conf in /etc/wifi)
Here is the one from /data/misc/wifi in my phone (http://www.mediafire.com/download/pfffjcxt428m811/wpa_supplicant(2).conf)
And here is the /etc/wifi (http://www.mediafire.com/download/1svvdqehmtp8wm0/wpa_supplicantt.conf) Notice that I put 2 t's at the end because otherwise it would overwrite the file with the on above this so basically when copying the file to /etc/wifi remove the t.

Gosh, and there is no one you know on the internet or in real life that can supply you with those files? I think it is different across devices so that might be a reason it didn't work.
I did it alone starting from original etc file! Anyway thanks for the help ?

Thanks for making this thread, I flashed a new ROM where wifi isn't working and since I uploaded the files here I will try them out. Thanks again for asking to upload the files
